A HP Deja vu of a second ago.
OH so funny. I am sitting here with the television on. I have it tuned in to the AMC (american movie classics channel.) I was trying to think up something to post for my prevous post onthe Last Letter thread... The letter was S. So while I was looking at the computer screen all of the sudden I heard Snape's voice. I had to do a double take at how strange it was. Then I noticed the tv. There was Bruce Willis talking listening to some guy on a walkie talkie. Die Hard one had an advertisement. Funny so I had to write Snape down. He was caaaaaaling to me. ;D

Erin.... I liked that pair of Harry Potter glasses. I don't know if that is where I would put it but really, I'm not the sort to get a tatoo. I also liked the simplicity of the symbol of the Deathly Hallows. I wonder if when JKR made it up that she would have ever thought others might tatoo themself with that mark? ........ My Harry Potter Deja vu for today.... I went a different way home this morning... I passed this shop that is a part of a sort of mini mall. All of the sudden my mind went blank. It was called the ....... Curly Willow.

I'm sitting here watching a show Called "The Presidents Book" on the History channel. THey made a mention that a regular ipod has the capacity to hold 1795 thousand copies of ALL SEVEN Harry Potter novels. Isn't that cool! oh i'm such a geek.

I have this craaaaazy radio station that I like to listen to in the mornings. Well, for the past day or two they have been getting online and checking out polls of the hottest men. LONG polls. Then this morning, there he be... our very own Alan Rickman was named. Now I want to knock Pool Boy in the head because he didn't know who Snape was. Good grief. I wonder if he's that guy living under a rock and was so surprised to find out Geiko's insurance rates were. ;D sighs...

Hey I remember one of those Deja Vu's now.... At work, I also stock the crafts section of the store. We have these unpainted wooden six inch letters. The whole set of the alphabet each hangs on it's own peghook. We don't get the same letters in every night, just what has been sold and is in need of replacing. There I was, reaching into the box to pull out the next letter only to catch myself doing the Harry Potter ABC's. It was like instinct. I didn't even realize I was doing it until I pulled out the third letter "H" and I already had "Harry" and "Hermione" mentioned.... then I paused a second to say "HORCRUX! YEAH!...." THen it dawned on me what I was doing. I had to start laughing, then I kept going. ;D

I had been here a while ago talking about going to the cemetary on Memorial and realizing I had some HP names (Myrtle and Lily) in my ancestors. Well last weekend my aunt was visiting from CT and wanted to go to the cemetary. She got talking about our relatives and mentioned one who was related by marriage-a Fernando Potter. I did a double take and asked her to repeat it-couldn't believe I actually had a Potter in my family!

That is so cool! Congrats to you. My parents are heavily into doing family research. I don't think we have found any Potter connections up the line. ...................................... My Harry Potter Dejavu... Our state is holding a tax free weekend of school supplies and a bit more. So during this time many people have waited to purchace school items so not to have to pay any tax... OK.. that is a given. Anyway, that is MY department. I have been told to expect Christmas rush type crowds. Yep... all by myself. I went in and found three people who were scheduled and not knowing where they would be placed, called in. So it's just me and a friend Nancy putting it all out there tonight for the rush. Most people stress out..NOt me I love this. I mean, it's so easy to stock the shelf if they are grabbing stuff just as fast as I put it out. I spent two hours restocking the wide ruled loose leaf paper and know I'll have to put more out when I get back from lunch in a few minutes. This makes my job easier. I guess I'm also dealing with this well, knowing this is not a regular thing or else my clostrophobia would cause me to have breathing problems. Anyhow.. my thoughts are helping me through this at the moment. LOL. Well, why am I telling you about this being a HP dejavu? I liken it to the scene in the bookstore where the crowds of people came for Lockharts book signing... Then the scene with Fred and George's shop was shown. I can't help but suppress a little giggle at the ideas I have going on in my head. That would be so cool if I were stocking items for the kids going to Hogwarts. Such fun!

My friend Cardman emailed me the link to the Netives marble game a while back. So on the Netives website I also started playing Wordsmith-word games are my favorite. I always try to get rid of the qus and the word squib keeps coming up-I keep putting it in and then am surprised when it is denied! ThenI always think of the old obsessed with HP thread on WB-that would definitely qualify for that thread!

OK.... I'm laughing my head off. I put in a call to my dental office. I needed to talk to a nurse. I told her I've got something called a dry socket...yep the doc took off with my tooth... a molar. He wanted to save it, but I said yank it. Anyway, she told me that I need to go in to my pharmacy. Ask the pharmacist for something called oil of cloves. All I kept thinking of were potions ingredients. That is what it sounds like to me. oil of cloves and eye of newt... sounds like something I'd dump into a cauldron. It took all I had not to ask for the eye of newt too. ;D yep my brain is dead... off I go for a while.

LOL Miss C!
Today, we went to Staples at a (fairly) new plaza in town. The building is made of light colored bricks of all different shades of tan/reddish tan, and all different sizes. As we got to the end of the windows, there was a column of these bricks. My older son stopped and started tapping the bricks, then he looked up at me and grinned. Ahhh....I hope he gets his acceptance letter next year! lol

OK... I've wanted to post this last week, but wanted to finsh rewatching the film from beginning to end... I fell asleep and missed a bit of it. Last week, I was in the mood fora good spooky movie to watch with my daughter... nothing gross and so I was thinking about Blair Witch Project. Funny, there is not place in town or for sale that I can find it... I'm planning on now looking at a pawn shop... they are always good to find old dvd's. Anyway, inthe mean time I found one for sale at my store that I had not heard of... It was in the five dollar bin so I thought.. why not. Not much of a gamble. It turned out to be a foreign film.. No wonder I had never heard f it. It's all in spanish... SO my daughter got to watch her first foreign film.. We had to read the english subtitles... (even if it were in english, I'd need them on anyway.) SO... This one is called "The Orphanage." It's a ghost story... It was a mystery. Chilling at the same time sad and beautiful... Yep... me the strange one huh? LOL The reason I'm posting this here on this thread happens to be for all of the similarities to a story we all know well. Yes... this story takes place in an orphanage. It begins showing a group of handicapped kids and some regular kids all playing outside of the orphanage. A phone call was recieved. Turned out one of the regular kids... a girl was adopted out. There was an underlying tone that was pulled intentionally from the Peter Pan story... even quoted from that book. Anyway, the lady said to the people on the phone that the girl does not know yet... that she is playing right now.. but she will be with the new family by that afternoon. She hangs up and looks out of the window at the group playing.. she then said that all of the kids will miss her. basically... she was like wendy to the rest of the kids. I know this has nothing to do with HP .. but give me a second. Well, the next thing we see is the girl is now grown up, is married and has an adoped little boy. He does not know he's adopted nor that he has HIV. Only that he needs to take medication every day to keep himself well. See, at this point in the story they moved into the old orphanage's building/house. She planned on adopting a few more kids with special needs. Cutting to the chase... the little boy could see the ghost children and talked with them.. played games too. They told him the family secret that he was adopted and would never grow up. that he was going to join them soon. OH this orphanage was located by the ocean. The mom took her little boy out to the beach and showed him a cave they used to play in at low tides as kids. (It looked an awful lot like how I imagined the trips Tom Riddle went on... but this was right next to the school.) The cave also had another cave off to the side where the little boy.. his name was Simon.. talked with someone named Tomas (cough.. yeah... spooky huh?) Tomas lead him into this part of the cave too. Long story short... there were five other kids who were also ghosts... not just Tomas. They said that it was soon after the little girl was adopted out that the five children played a trick on Tom.... they led him into the cave and told him that he could only come out and play with them if he did something they told him to do. HE would not.. so he stayed in there drowned. (I'm cutting out what they told him to do... Just in case any of you end up watching it.) So I'll let you figure out why, and how they all became ghosts and the fate of the family of three who moved into the old house. OH... and one of the boy's names I had to do a double take... rewind the film just to see if I read the name corectly... his name was Marvin.... not Morfin. ;D Yep... potter on my brain I guess. After all was watched... my daughter said she liked that film... just wished it was in english. See, at the beginning she could not understand why we could not click the language option to make it play wiht english words dubbed in... I had to tell her that was the subtitles... Then I again thoght of how she and I used to watch the first few potter films in spanish or french. We knew them by heart already but it was fun watching them in other languages.

Deja Vu

Post by Duddahs on Aug 19, 2011 11:41:23 GMT -6
All right, now this one is a bit odd for me and that is saying something.
I have a neighbor who lives behind my home.
He really is a moron and his wife left him and took their three kids away earlier this year. In my opinion, she and they are far better off since he was really not good to any of them and yelled, screamed and swore like a drunken sailor on a regular basis.
When he first moved in, he did not know where the property lines were so he just decided everything up to the back of my garage was his.
I was on vacation when he moved in and while I was away, he tore down my fence that I had paid thousands of dollars to put up because the previous owner always was worried about my four Shi Tsu coming into her yard to pee on the ivy she had covering the back yard.
She was a very nice older woman and so I asked what she would like me to do and she picked out this nice pressure treated fencing with lattice work at the top and so I bought it and had it installed.
We always got along famously and we even put in a little gate for her so she could come back and forth and pet the dogs when she wanted to with her grandchildren.
Anyway, she took ill and the house was sold very quickly through her church, literally 1 weekend so that it would pay for a private facility for her.
The new owner cut down all of her Apple Tree's that lined the back of their property, had the ivy dug up and then tore down my fencing that I paid for and we knew as well within the property lines since we had had the property surveyed when it was purchased by me.
Anyway, this guy wound up having a big legal problem with us without us really ever speaking again to him. My Jenn is an attorney and handled everything for me. He even was arrested for harassing the workers who put in the new fence that I put in. A nice dark green coated chain link fence with those plastic slats to make it look like a privacy wall.
Now I can not see this at all since I have several rows of Arborvitae that line the back of my property. I can not even see his house since the back row are about 35 feet to 40 feet high and the front row are between 10 and 20 feet high. It is a complete deep wall of green.
So the other day, I was out on my patio room with the lap top on my lap and I was watching the JKR BBC show when I suddenly heard an odd sound.
Then I heard a childs voice yelling Hermione, get back here, get back here you expletive. This is their 7 year old child I am sure. Now who the heck is Hermione.
The next thing I know I hear a ruckus like nothing else.
Now mind you, I live on a park and it is very quiet here since i live at the end of a partial through road, that cuts like a peninsula into the park itself. So then I realize what I am hearing, they have a CHICKEN!
This may not sound odd to some of you, but I live in a Suburban area that it is not common for people to have Chickens. This guy put in a Honey Bee Hive in June and I do not think it survived since I have not seen any more honey bees in my yard since the first month that he put it in.
Now we have a Chicken called Hermioine!
Shame, the father came out screaming and swearing at the child not to play with the chicken saying it will leave chicken poo in other words on their cloths and then he would not be allowed back in his house and would have to stay outside until his mother picked him up later that day.
I feel badly for the child but at least he has a chicken called Hermione to keep him company.
Poor chicken does not sound happy though. I know nothing about raising them but it sounds like it is moaning a bit and very low. Not the clucking sound that one normally thinks of, kind of like a moan crossed with a cat purr. Just weird. I hope it is OK, but for some reason, I doubt Hermione will still be alive in September.
