Oh, I remember talking about Captain Kangaroo back on an earlier Lovegood Lounge at the Wb too!
I actually met the actor who played Captain Kangaroo at the Triple Piers Antiques Show in Manhattan where our family business regularly sets up display for sale of our inventory.
He was a very big man but there was no getting away from the fact that he was so friendly and jovial, almost like a real life Santa Claus

My youngest found my old cell phone, which no longer works, but still has the battery. He typed some nonsense onto the screen and then "read" it. Here is what he said he wrote (I kept asking him what happened next) "The goblin of fire was instinct (extinct) because it was dead. Fire was at Hogwarts so firemans had to come "Whooooooo!!!!" (sirens). It burned Hogwarts down. The people got out in time. They had a good deal. If we get out of Hogwarts, they would run out of Hogwarts. It burned down and flattened and no one would live at Hogwarts again."
ETA: then this morning, I turned on the TV for him. The sounds always comes on first, before the picture, and we heard a woman speaking with a Brittish accent, and he said "I don't want to watch Harry Potter right now." LOL

Fangsfan.... I too remember that conversation over at the earlier Lounge. We were reliving the good ole days... Now just talking about that conversation that becomes the good ole days in it's self. LOL. Na.... I love these days and being here. I just miss the old friends we once knew back then. OH and that reminds me. I got an email saying our old friend Lily posted something on my facebook wall. I know I have a facebook account but I never knew I had a wall that others could post on. LOL. Now it's been bugging me because I don't know what she said to me. OK.... Here is one that is sort of like yours Fang. Last night, while I was working in my normal departments... Well, I need to step back for a minute. OK. At Walmart they have decided to not play music or Walmart radio over the intercom. Really most of us miss the old days when we could work to music. Well, for the past few nights, a guy who has been working in the electronics department has been hooking up his .... I guess it's called an Ipod, a little flat rectangular thing that has music playlist of his on it. Well, he's snuck and hooked it up to the speakers on display so we may all hear his music. (Oh and he has a very diverse taste in music. I think he's found that he's really becoming popular for sharing his music like this.) Well... back to the reason I'm posting this... Last night, he played Queen's Bohemian Rapsody. That lead my thought to remember our very own Duddah's post here. One where he stated he once had skated a routine to this song. Then of course when I think of any of you I think of here and Harry Potter fun. OHH and I have a friend from work named Sherry. She for some reason reminds me of Erin for some reason... again.. I think my Harry Potter friend... thus back to Harry Potter.

I am finding that more and more young skaters are choosing to skate to selections from the Harry Potter movies..
Seems they have become classics right up there with Ice Castles, ET and Close Encounter of the Third Kind which have been permanently burned into my brain!

Watching a LOT of coverage of the Prince's Wedding, I can tell you that I again could not keep from having Harry Potter refrences pop into my head.
One was a documentary on Prince Harry. Then I thought... OK of his title and tied it in with the name of book six.
Again with that same documentary.... They showed headlines when they commented on how he was known as the 'Party Prince'. One of the tabloid headlines said "Harry Potty".. I mean yes he was drunk and fell out of a pub.. but what did that comment mean?
I have a few more but I will have to post them tomorrow.

Miss C that is so cool that Lily hbp posted on your wall. I remember I love to see her pictures, and she seemed to be a Snape fan like me because a lot seemed to be of him. Duddahs, I love the idea of skating to the HP music. Some of it is really beautiful, I can see where they would want to state to it. Especially Hedwig's theme, I'd love to watch a routine set to that music. Erin, I was glad to see you mention the queen's yellow outfit. I loved it, I'm not used to seeing her in such bright colors and for me she was one of my favorite dresses of anyone there.

I am actually working on a new program for one of my students. The piece is from DH1 and I had a little bit of a shock at how main stream the piece sounds. No one even realizes it is from Harry Potter yet. Then I am also working on cutting a few Edith Piaf pieces for a program too. After a while all her songs start to blur into one so they should mix well into a single piece.

...and did you notice the Queen was wearing yellow...sunsine colors?! Erin Yeah I noticed that. Yellow is one of my favorite colors and I thought that strong yellow color was beautiful too. I did have the Harry Potter connection that really ruins it for that color... I saw her in that color and remembered Wormtail. Laughed then felt bad for even having the connection. It was just wrong and I really liked her outfit... especially her hat.

Miss C that is so cool that Lily hbp posted on your wall. I remember I love to see her pictures, and she seemed to be a Snape fan like me because a lot seemed to be of him. Yeah... I miss her a lot. Then when I got the email stating she wrote on my wall... Well, I've tried everything to figure out how to find my wall in order to see what she wrote to me. Yeah I would too. I sometimes watch some of the routines when I watch skating on TV... and hope I might get a grin to hear the familiar theme. I was watching more documentaries today about royal weddings. I did see her wearing yellow to another but it was so light colored it reminded me of a cream... no more like a light lemonade color. Still, today's was my favorite as well. Really... My favorite dress was of course the wedding dress of the new Princess. The fit was just perfect.. not too tight nor too loose. Oh and her sister's was the best maid of honor I've ever seen. I felt bad for Sarah Fergison's daughter's. Too bad they took after their mother's taste in fashion. Those poor girls. Now I will say I might not be one who knows how to pick out anything really fashionable for ME to wear... but I know not those hats. So I'm no better. HEY.... Yellow! The Lovegoods at the Weasley's wedding! Now how could I have missed that connection until now.. ANd I LOVED Xeno's outfit! IT was beautiful.

I went to the dentist today-of course I always think about Hermione's parents being dentist. I have thought before how it would be fun to have a thread where we see how many Muggle related gifts we could think of to give to Arthur Weasley. I thought of a great one-wouldn't he love to sit in on a Muggle dentist appointment to see what they do!

Today is rainy-so I did my indoor walking with my dog. Listened to a CD by rock group Willie Nile who we heard in Texas. There was this catchy song about doing the "Doomsday Dance" with lines like "put your red shroud on and do the dead man's twist." I thought what a great song for Nick and his death day party!
