If you happened to have watched the Academy Awards last night, Duddahs is sure you notice Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew and Andre Displat were all featured on the show. John Williams was also mentioned, not for HP but for another out of this world cinematic franchise.
Keep your eyes open as Professor McGonagall is back in the sequel to The Best Marigold Hotel. The original was a masterpiece and highly underated.
Also kudos go out to Lord Voldemort himself in the magnificent film The Grand Buapest Hotel. This was by far Duddahs favorite film of the year. It took home a boat load of Oscars too.

I have yet to see Grand Budapest Hotel. I was not sure if it was going to be worth it. I guess now I will have to rent and watch it. Thanks.
I was so happy to see they have a sequal to Best Marigold Hotel. I can't wait to see it. I will have to go while it's still in theaters.

One morning last week, I was channel surfing just to find something to turn on while I do my house elf chores. My jaw dropped as I did a double take. I was in a weird mood and decided to watch The Island of Doctor Moreau. The one with Marlon Brando in it. I've seen in once many years ago and only remembered him and Val Kilmar (something like that) was in it. Then there he was, OUR LUPIN (David Thewlis) Wow. He was the main character too.

I watched part of a terrible movie the other night and during the trailers I saw Jeremy Spawl in the lead roll of something. Now Duddahs is trying to figure out what the movie trailer was for because he did not like the movie he was watching, put it back in the case and dropped it back off at Red Box the very next morning.

Wormtail? Was this one that might have had the girl from the Hunger Games? I think that he's in it too. It's set back in the 1930's or 1940's. She and her hubby are the main characters. What did the movie trailer look like?

It looked like something from centuries ago. Have to look at his IMB and see if anything rattles this ole bird brain of mine.

Ooo.. now you've got me curious. Not sure but he might have also been in Sweeny Todd with Alan Rickman and Helena Bohnam Carter.
.....
Ooo! I was watching an old episode of Midsommer Murders this morning. It had the first Fat Lady in it. Funny, I wanted to remember a comment she made from this episode, that reminded me of something she said from HP. I'll have to watch it again then post it.

Duddahs found it! It is Mr. Turner and it was a fantastic movie. Jeremy Spawn won best actor at Cannes last year for his performance.
As it turns out this movie and Still Alice that Duddahs watched last night were severely damaged by the hackers of the Sony Studios last year. Several movies along with these were posted online, causing them to have very limited views in the theater even though both are excellent films.
Right now Duddahs is watching The theory of everything about Steven Hawkings. It also stars David Thewlis!

Hey, I thought that film was pretty good. For several years, I thought that Steven Hawkings had Cerebral Palsey, like my son. Boy was I wrong. LOL! I heard years ago that it was something else entirely. I always love to see the histories of different people and how they came to be the person that the world knew them to be.

I was watching GOF on a television channel. It's been off for a while now, so me being too lazy to find something else on, I left it on the same channel.
I've watched the movie Contact with Jodie Foster years ago when it came out at theaters. We bought the VHS tape of it too. IT's one of those we liked but have not gotten around to buying the DVD yet. So, it's been a while.
I totally forgot that Ollivander (John Hurt) played in this. He does love to play the esscentric characters. Got to love him. He does a good job.

I've been loving my recent discovery of Netflix. I get to watch all of the tv shows whenever I want and ALL of the seasons in order. I've decided, while my family are still sleeping, I can wake and have a morning dose of Mystery (with NO commercials) while I have my breakfast. So, this morning, I've been watching Midsomer Murders (a british show. I love the beautiful countryside, with the little cottages and green fields and woods. Along with a murder mystery for the chief inspector to solve.)
Well, today's mystery had TWO Harry Potter actor's in it. I laughed at the particular two knowing how she feels about him in HP. Fudge and Umbridge.

Duddahs too loves his Netflix both DVD and streaming versions.
What ever became of Blockbuster? Duddahs never liked the anyway too slow, too rude, always out of what Duddahs wished to watch and the late fees and rewind fees were absurd. Good riddence to bad rubbish I say.

SO that's what "streaming" is? Viewing movies through the internet connection? Cool. I learned my something new for the day... well, ONE of my somethings new for today. I'm on a roll learning stuff today. LOL!
We only have one video store here in town. And we still use it. I miss the OLD store we used to use. They would have a deal where if you turned it in within 24 hours then you get a dollar off your next dvd rental. And if you want, you can save them up, you can watch a movie for free. This new place does not have the same deal. Our Blockbuster was in the town over from us. We hardly used them. Glad about that after reading what you said.

The only DVD rental places around here are Redbox machines. If you don't have them, they are kiosks, often in grocery stores, where you can stick in a credit card, and rent a DVD ($1.50 per night) or blu-ray (for $2.00). The good part is that you can pick it up at one machine, and drop it off at any other. They charge per night until you return it, and if you don't return it in 20 nights, they stop charging you, and the disc is yours. They also rent out games, but we haven't used that feature yet...games are harder to return after just one night, so we tend to borrow those from the library, instead. I like that you can search online for a particular movie, and you can reserve one. That machine will hold if for you for a certain amount of time. So you don't have to drive from one to another in search of a movie. We use them occasionally, but rarely return them the next day, so sometimes it's just cheaper in the long run watch on demand.

We've got the Redbox all over town. I also have found using the online site to find which Redbox has my movie. I have signed up for the emails. It really pays off sometimes. I get deals with those by typing in codes they send. I've never gotten a game from them though.
I like going to the library to get audio books. Yeah, I cheat. I don't do that as much now a days since we've moved into town. When we lived out in the country, it took a 20 minute drive to get my son to school. I took him in the mornings and picked him up afterwards. That's a lot of sitting time to do nothing unless you listen to music.
Oh and since you mentioned On Demand to watch Game of Thrones, I looked it up on my Dish network. I was able to watch those for free even though the series was completed on HBO. Thanks for that tip.
Oh... and just thinking about it. Was Tonk's character on that show killed off? I've not seen her in ages.

Oh... and just thinking about it. Was Tonk's character on that show killed off? I've not seen her in agesl. No...she's with the youngest Stark, Rickon. So far, there isn't much going on with him in the books, so not much for her role, either. I can't remember if Rickon stayed with Bran in the books, or not...I'm re-reading them, but haven't gotten to that point yet. Erin

Ok that's right. Thanks. I was wondering about why we didn't see them at all this past season.
Have fun on your reread.

I recently watched Leonardo DiCaprio's latest film The Revenant and noticed that Bill Weasley (Domhnall Gleeson (who is in fact Mad-Eye's real life son)) played one of the major characters in it. Gleeson gave an excellent performance in the film and I highly recommend it, if you're into that kind of film.
