It seems like now a days you can't sit down and turn on the television or stick in a movie without is having at least ONE or more of the actors/actresses that we know from the Potter films. This afternoon while trying to relax and maybe even sneek in a couple of winks I ended up watching two movies.... well most but snoozing throughout off and on. One I watched was New Moon... I was not even paying attention but yes.. there was our Cedric Diggory. Then this evening, I stuck in and still have on, Becoming Jane. I just love Anne Hathaway movies. But when I was sitting there suddenly I forgot Molly Weasley played her mom... Later There was McGonagall playing an old rich aunt trying to marry off her nephew... then later was Narcissa Malfoy playing a lady author whom Jane admired. Still.... I think it's something to find films that our HP actors had played in... there are so many... and most I really like. This is a thread where we can talk about some we like or don't... just discuss our opinions and even bring to notice maybe a film the rest of us might not have known about.

I know... some others had Maggie Smith... um... Was it David Copperfield that Dan Radcliff also played that she too was in?
She also played in my favorite version of The Secret Garden.

Hey I loved him in that one! ;D
The first film I saw him in was Braum Stokers Dracula.
I found him quite interesting. Now there were a lot of other films I had seen him in that really was... was.... too much even for me to handle. But I liked that one even if they didn't really go by the book... but no one ever does.

Imelda Staunton has been one of my favorite character actresses for a while now.
She was the staring role in Vera Drake, she was recently in Alice in Wonderland, she was in Shakespeare in Love and Sense and Sensibility among many others.

Sense and Sensibility.... That was the first time I had ever seen her in anything. It took me a while to place her.. but it was her voice that gave it away. That movie also has The Fat Lady (the first one).. and of course Alan Rickman and Emma Thompson... There is someone else.. OH I think the guy who plays Fudge too. Funny you mention this film because I was thinking about watching it tomorrow.

Well there is always the stunning Julie Christie (rita skeeter) who was also in Troy, Finding Neverland (I loved that movie), and then a ton of great movie roles like Shampoo, Heaven can Wait and Dr. Zhivago among MANY of her great film roles.. Yep, I do like her!

OH I LOVE Finding Neverland... but you guys have all heard my thing for the story of Peter Pan... but something that always was a bit odd for me when I watch that film... The lady who plays Mrs. Barrie... (I"m not going to do this.) but if I were to post a picture of me when I was about 19 or 20... well it's freaky to think she's the closest thing to my doppleganger. But when I watch that actress in anything else.. I just don't see it. But yes.. I loved Julie Christie in that film too.

This isn't a movie but Robert Hardy(Fudge) played veterinarian Siegfried Farnon for years in the PBS tv series All Creatures Great and Small. I just loved this show, it's still in reruns sometimes, and I was so pleased when I saw he had a part in the HP films.

I've read where some people say Gary Oldman is one of the greatest living actors. I don't know about that but I do think he's very good. I remember the movie A Room With A View, which was very romantic and had some beautiful Italian scenery. And the romantic heroine was played by---Bellatrix Lestrange!!!!

Ooo No... Gary Oldman could be but I think he's made far too many b movies that sort of left my tummy in a knot after watching them.. Oo the potty mouth.
Oh Bellatrix.. She's played in many movies a long time ago I'd like to dig out to find and watch again. I don't have any of them... Wait... a while back she did a voice over and played in Curse of the Were Rabbit. We have that one. I remember she looked like she had a huge cheese puff on her character's head. My favorite film with her was Planet of the Apes.. LOVED that one.
What was the one where she cooked little pies made with people meat? Her sort of hubby made that one with her and Jonny Depp and Alan Rickman? It's on the tip of my tongue and I just can't recall the name. ;D EWWWW.

I had forgotten about Quiz Show but I liked that movie too. And I remember he did play a villain in Schindler's List-a nazi. Maybe that helped him get the part of Voldemort.

I saw it once... not really wanting to since I love germany so much.. spent many happy years living there.. but then seeing what that war did to the country.. the scars litterally were still there for the little girl that I was to be able to see.. A very up front sort of way to learn of the horror's of war. Many of the houses that families live in to this day still have the bullet holes on the outside of their walls. My dad told me why.. it was the war.. then I looked up ahead only to see some girls my age playing hopscotch right in front of those houses. To imagine war in a place where people actually live... It's a different point of view than to watch it taking place in some other country where we don't see it in OUR neighborhoods. I was eight years old and felt numb.. still, not really realizing what this particular war was about at that stage of my life.
Still.. that movie for me was hard to watch. Then being a fan of Ralph Finnes already.. I had no wish to see him playing this sort of role...
