I was wondering about the names of the Marauders-Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs. How did they decide the order of the names, as it wasn't alphabetical?

My thought of the day is how did Hogwarts students get to Hogwarts before the Hogwarts Express?

"Madmen and fools feel no fear. Heroes fear and face the danger anyway." This is a quote from Half a War by Joe Abercrombie, a book I just finished. This is what I think true bravery really is-and to me it describes the truly brave characters in HP like Harry, Neville, Snape and others. PS: The hero in the book answered "Could I be none of the three and go home?"

My Harry Potter thought for today;
How is it that any wizarding child which also grew up in a wizarding household would not be familiar with many spells, magic and incantations prior to attending Hogwarts or any other school of magic?

That is a very good thought Duddahs, surely they must pick up on a thing or two

Watching COS on tv and the trio's reaction to drinking polyjuice-couldn't help thinking what a strong constitution Crouch Jr as fake Moody must have had!

My HP thought for the day is based off of Duddahs original thought of the power of the Weasley Clock, I wonder what kind of magic was used to create it. Seems super useful especially for keeping tabs on people

...and it didnt seem to be a common thing, even in the wizarding world.

I just did a cool quiz on Sporcle.com where they tried to think of jobs for HP characters if they were a Muggle and you had to match them up. The one for Arthur Weasley is about him being an inventor of useful devices. I would love to think he invented that clock just for his family. Probably not, but it's fun to think about.

Seems super useful especially for keeping tabs on people I always wondered if it was sort of like how the ministry (or was it the school?) kept track of under age magic outside of Hogwarts. You know, The Trace. Was the clock keeping "the trace" on the family while they were not home? The spell had to be similar to it, but not exactly.

My thought for the day. I always wondered if Draco ever figured out or was told that Ron and Harry were impersonating Crabbe and Goyle that time in the Slytherin common room?
