My Harry Potter Thought for the day... I wonder if JKR has a cool scar that she likes and so gave one to Harry?

Yeah, I wonder how she got the idea of a lightening bolt scar.

This is so funny that we are talking about scars here... when the other day my daughter and I were talking about them. Then out of the blue she started asking me something about mine.
(edited out some things you won't want to hear.)
I remember what it was... Daughter also asked me about the scar on my arm. I told her that was where her Memaws donkey bit me. daughter laughed so hard. I had a bruise that nearly wrapped the entire way around my arm just above the elbow.. now the scar is somewhat small.

Ouch! That must've hurt Miss C.
Hmmm, maybe JKR had a scar or something like that. This is just one of those questions that only she knows the answer to.

My Harry Potter thought for today...
Since Owls are the delivery service of choice for the Wizarding World, how do they possibly carry the larger items such as furniture?

Hmmm, I think it was mentioned in one of the books that if a large item has to be delivered, more that one owls are used.

But furnature? SOmehow I would guess they might make other arrangements.. maybe sit on the couch and then dissapperate WITH it in tow. Now that sounds like Bedknobs and Broomsticks. ;D

I like the idea of DIssaparating. Or maybe they all touch it with one claw and with the other claw they have a special owl portkey that transports them.

My head's been exploding with Harry Potter thoughts, but I cannot recall any right now. They'll come back to me, eventually... heh... My Harry Potter Thought for the day... I wonder if JKR has a cool scar that she likes and so gave one to Harry? Somehow I can't help but think of the scar above Dumbledore's left knee...

I'll bet you they are all three D if they did... somehow I see them going to plays instead... still they would miss out on all of the Muggle Magic put into films.

Hmmm, I would imagine that it would be stationed in a place like Hogsmeade.

I really like this idea better... something along the lines... a TYPE of portkey.. All they need do is put the charm/spell on the couch, turn it into a portkey then turn around and after delivery take the spell off of it. Viola! What a great idea Fangsfan.

My Harry Potter thought for today;
What actually happens to you if you flunk out of Hogwarts?

Hmmm, I remember reading somewhere that Marcus Flint failed a grade, so I don't actually think you'd get kicked out, just because you failed.

Hmmmm I did not mean just failing a grade, I meant Flunking Out.. It has a different meaning than failing a grade.
And the Failing of Flint was JKR's personal fix for what has come to be known as a "FLINT" in the litterary world.

Hmmm, I wonder what would happen, too. They'd probably have to go to another school, if it's possible.

This is off season but I have two thoughts about Christmas at Hogwarts. One is when they wake up and find the presents at the end of their bed-I have read this before in another book set in England-so I wondered if this is an English tradition? My other thought is I wonder if anyone ever wakes up when the presents are being put on their bed? I would be so excited I think I'd wake up and catch someone at it.

Hmmm, I think this is an English tradition, but I'm not too sure.
Maybe the house-elves put the presents there?
