Oh Fangsfan... I always had Santa in our house leave a huge stuffed animal each year on/in their beds with them. My kids would fall asleep with nothing only to wake up surprised that they had been snuggling up with this large stuffed Dog or bear etc. They would not wake when it was placed there.. but they definatly were surprised in the morning. Then as for my Son.. he always is awake during the night.. and sleeps most of the days of his life... Still that way even now.. SO he normally sees all but can't tell about any secrets he knows about. *snickers* It's fun to see him smile too when he recieves the surprise.
as for Hogwarts.. I too always imagined it to be part of the house elf duties for that house... to use their magic to place the items there without notice. I mean, they do do all of their cleaning while the students are asleep.. not to be noticed or seen by anyone.

I just love that idea Miss Charlotte-I still love stuffed animals and I actually would still like that now. I had never even thought about the house-elves doing it. Yes, that makes sense, they could do it so quietly noone would wake up.

My Harry Potter thought for today;
I wonder if there is a Muggle Character that has Wizarding children and adults alike all wrapped up on reading about them, watching movies about them and even having web sites devoted to discussing them?

Do you mean the opposite of Harry Potter; a Muggle living in a Wizarding World, and not knowing about the Muggle World?

My Harry Potter thought for today..
I wonder if Witches and Wizards can control the weather.
And I do not mean the way that Dementors do..

I kinda think not.. or else they would not play quidditch in the stormy weather or extreme sunny days when they could be blinded.
Hmmm I had a thought for today.. but I have a brainfart going on and so I WILL be back. LOL!

My Harry Potter thought for today;
I wonder if there is a Culinary School for Witches and Wizards or if House Elves teach them how to cook?

My Harry Potter thought for the day...
I still wonder if House elves can read at all? Or if they tend to know from memory and experience of their life's work. You know they have to want to trade recipes with other house elves.. right?

I'll bet there are a lot who don't even know about the discussion boards. I know I only found the WB one by accident. The cool thing too is that there will always be new fans coming along-young kids who get old enough to read them and discover the books. I have thought about that before-how much fun it would be for someone finding out about them for the first time and then being able to read all 7 at once.

I imagine the same thing from Lord of the Rings. he didn't intend on his book to be put out in pieces like that.. but it did add for the anticipation for the next installment for his readers. I would have loved to have read the books and waited on the edge of my seat for the next part. That was brilliant... especially with the look of how long that book would have been all in one binding, published all at once. Then here comes JKR doing things in that stlye on purpose.. Her thought for one book for each year was also brilliant. I good way to put just enough time to play out the story all in each year. Then where she started each book... Makes the new person wonder will Harry actually get to go to school that year if so.. then HOW??? How strange.. a kid wanting to go to school. ;D Still.. I say give it about ten years when the next group of kids learn to read will discover Harry. They will some day wonder what it was like for all of us who were there when this was being created. NZ.. a die hard fan...Hmm? good question. It might be different for every person.. Maybe those who could not wait to buy the books on the next day but had to be there for the book release parties.. Maybe those who dress up or dress up our kids as Harry or another character for Halloween... Maybe the obsessed persons who can't read any other book without comparing it to JKR's style... maybe people like me who can not seem to move on even though I have tried.. I have to come back. Maybe for the person who loves to find that kid that still resides deep inside of us even though we are all adults.. we love that kid and want for to take hold of young Harry's hand in book one to help him through the barrier at platform nine and three quarters. Maybe for those creepy people who actually get tatoos of Harry's scar on their heads? I"m sure we can make a thread of all of this. ;D Hey I just keep thinking up more.. How bout any of yo uguys out there ever had any Harry Potter PJ's? Or anyone slept on any HP sheets or had the quilt? I think I've even seen a baby mobile to hang over the baby's crib.... Ooo I need to go to the collector's thread.. see ya!

My thought of the day-do the wizards have special veterinarians for their magical creatures? Or do the Care of MC teachers serve as vets? I remember when Hedwig was injured, Harry took her to Grubbly Plank.

My thought of the day-do the wizards have special veterinarians for their magical creatures? Or do the Care of MC teachers serve as vets? I remember when Hedwig was injured, Harry took her to Grubbly Plank. I've sort of been thinking about this recently as well.. But not just for Hogwarts.. but the rest of the wizarding world. I know Ron got his rat tonic from the person who ran the Magical Menagerie at Diagon Alley. But what do they do after that? See... my little Mattie had a rough week. She's only a year old and has been the light of this year for our whole family. I can't imagine not having her... She is one that the old saying.."Curiosity killed the cat." I could honestly see this being her undoing. She likes to turn her nose up to things like milk or tuna... but eat stuff like Doritos she sneeks away with.. Pretzels even candy. I have to get onto my daughter with that one. But she also likes to eat spiders she finds in the garage. Well.. we wondered if she got hold of something that made her sick. Until today I worried that she was not going to get better.. but luckily she's back to being close to her normal active self.. When she pounced on Hermione.. that was that... She was feeling better because doing that is asking for trouble.. SO.. this week sitting here at the computer hanging out with my Harry Potter friends I have wondered what they do in the wizarding world when their animals need a doctor?... so funny how you guys don't know what is going on here at home in my life then suddenly I look and you guys seem to know and say something that hits home. ;D
