Arthur absolutely did not have help from the Ministry of Magic with the Ford Anglia.
Don't you remember how Ron go the howler explaining that his father was not being investigated by the Ministry...
There is no way that they would have allowed him to create the Magical Car since it was actually against the law he himself wrote!

I'm not sure if he actually wrote that law.. but he did stand in the office that tended to that specific area of business. Searching out bewitched muggle artificats.. We do know Arthur did tinker around with the Car and he was doing that against regulartions. Arthur... did they ever say what they did to him for that? My guess that without the car they had no real proof to use against him.

See, I couldn't remember if the ministry helped him or didn't help him. At least now I know. Maybe it was too risky, and Arthur might lose him job if the MoM found out?

My thought for the day-Did JKR name Albus brother AberFORTH because he was forthright or forthcoming and outspoken?

My Harry Potter thought for today...
Since we know that there must be some sort of school for higher learning in the Wizarding World, where do you believe it would be located?
You see a Wizarding Dr. must go to school after Hogwarts!

Maybe they simply apprentice at the place of choice... as in your case the mention of doctors... Wouldn't they go to St. Mungo's for what they want for them to learn? I think they have that for the Ministry positions... they train their workers on the job.. but this is my thought.. not sure.

Good question, I always wondered the same about Sirius motorbike too. I wonder if he puts some kind of charm on those things?

Its all by the use of Magic! I bet that you can buy a size O no matter what size you really are in the Magical world because it has one of those interior enlarging charms on them just like the cars from the Ministry of Magic! ;D

Yeah.. I always thought the same thing as Duddah just said.. it magically rearranges it's self.. I always imagined the fireplace floo's worked the same way.
Then I also had a thought when I go calendar hunting... (I collect calendars) Have you ever seen those buttcrack calendars... They have cartoon illustrations for each month. One that cracks me up... the over sized woman wearing a dress stands there asking someone she's facing if they had seen her cat.. well from our point of view we see the cat is lodged ... well.... squished in her crack. The cat really looks all rough.. in bad shape and mangled. Then I see Hagrid on that motorbike that was NOT supposed to be giant sized but one for Sirius.... Well... have you ever sat on a tricycle when you were too big for it only to stand up and it goes with you?
THIS IS WRONG.. why are we talking about this? Yeah... well... Dobby has come up with worse huh? ;D It HAS to magically change it's self to fit the rider.

My Harry Potter thought for today;
Why is it that so many Witches and Wizards that are either Mud Bloods or Muggle Borns have such difficulty in understanding Muggle life and the things that Muggles use on a daily basis..
After all for 11 years, they most likely believed they themselves were Muggles and would have found those objects to be normal every day events and things.

Hmmm, interesing thought. Maybe they were viewing Muggle life from the perspective of a witch or wizard?
I remember Ron asking Hermione why she was taking Muggle Studies when she was a Muggle-Born. She said that it'd be interesting to learn about Muggle life from a wizarding view.

My Harry Potter thought for today...
Are there Wizarding Restaurants other than those found in Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade?

Hmmm, maybe in other wizarding communities, but I can't see one being smack-down in the middle of London.

But NZ.. you forget... there is only ONE wizarding community and that is Hogsmeade. So any place else would have to be smack dab in the middle of some muggle place.... or very remote like the Burrow's location. Honestly, Duddah.. I see a short story fanfiction in the making with your thought. You did an excellent Madam Puddifoots spotlight in IG... I imagine in my mind a far out of the place field, with fairy lights all in the trees and manicured bushes surrounding a little resturant with little tables and maybe a small fountain out front. Sort of like those European resturants.. but in a Harry Potter style. Oh and gardens surrounding it all. Why not have it set out in some remote location as long as the Muggle repelling charms hold? Oooo.. I guess my mind won't stop... I wonder just where Bill proposed to Fleur? Oh... but there must be a floo for some who do not like to apparate to be able to arrive.

I can't believe I have this in my head right now... My Harry Potter thought for the day... We know they have their own tailors that sew the wizards robes... even the dresses and other suits etc... but I wonder where they buy their undergarments? I don't expect to see them going to a muggle place like Sears just to buy their undies.

Well.... I don't think they have a wizarding Sears, so maybe they might buy them at regular stores. Then again, they're witches and wizards and probably can't count the Muggle Money.
