We had the Blu Ray of Polar Express on in the background while unwrapping gifts last night. I so love that movie... That little boy reminds me of Dudespup when he was young...Big difference is Dudespup was never downtrodden but he has the same puppy dog eyes and the blond hair and oh those galoshes that we used to make him wear with his snow suit... He was so cute!

I've gotten to love The Polar Express too, it was one of those movies that grew on me the more I watched it. I like watching it and trying to figure how many characters Tom Hanks is playing!

I recently watched a great old movie that I have always wanted to see and never got to see the whole thing-Yankee Doodle Dandy. Two amazing artists-George M Cohan who the movie was about and James Cagney who played him-loved his dancing.

Watched the recent released movie, Hitchcock starring Anthony Hopkins and Helen Miran and just had to watch the original Man Who Knew Too Much, the older English version of the movie.
Duddahs was given the entire catalog of Alfred Hitchcock movies both old and newer ones and the T.V. series on Blu Ray a year ago. They really are excellent and the older ones are very funny and compelling even without some of the later special effects.

That's cool Duddahs, I'm a big Hitchcock fan. I've seen the newer version of Man Who Knew Too Much with James Stewart but never got a chance to see the older one. I especially love Notorious, North by Northwest and Foreign Correspondant.

Duddahs has to admit it; Psycho is his favorite Hitchcock film. Ok... I did backread the past few posts... This is enough to give me goose bumps. I just watched this same movie Hitchcock with Anothony Hopkins, this morning. Went to Redbox and rented it last night. I was totally shocked that the movie Psycho was based on a true story. That too is creepy. I've sort of found myself going to bed and turning on the tv while I do other things online... work reports.... just odds and end things... only to find that I have it on Bates Motel on whatever night that plays. I wish I had payed closer attention. I mean I think it was their season finale left me shocked. I hope they do a marathon soon so I can fill in the gaps of what I had missed. Now it will be more intense now that I know there really was a real Norman out there... and ew... he lived in Wisconsin. Too close to my neighborhood for my liking. And like you guys, I've loved the original movie Psycho. Back in my teens I've watched it every time it came on HBO. So every time Bates Motel comes on, I really can see scenes of the original movie in my memory. They cast the show quite well.

Watched Hitchcock's Vertigo (yuck to Kim Novak) and then watched another with Grace Kelly in it... Yeah for Grace Kelley... Both had Jimmy Stewart in them and he was spectacular in both though even he could not save Kim Novak from her own lack of acting abilities.

They had a lot of old Christmas movies on today-A Christmas Carol with Reginald Owen, Holiday Affair with Robert Mitchum and Janet Leigh which I had never seen, and Cary Grant in The Bishop's Wife. I love these old classics.

I love these old classics. That is kind of funny that you mention the classic A Christmas Carol with Reginald Owen in the lead roll. My friends Charlie and Diane borrowed me DVD of this movie just last night while they were here. They had never seen the original version! CRAZY HUH?

Wow that is a coincidence. This is the version that used to play on tv when I was a child and probably the first one I ever watched. I remember because the the ghost of Christmas past looked like a fairy princess and It thought she was so beautiful!

Today I watched Going my Way and Little Women, the Winona Ryder version. Still hoping to catch Heidi, Meet Me In St Louis, Miracle on 34th Street and the older versions of Little Women on tv this year. I also watched Polar Express last night, another Christmas movie that's become one of my favorites.

Just turned on the tv and one of my favorite old movies is playing, Sergeant York with Gary Cooper. About a real American hero and very appropriate for Memorial Day.

Oh I love every one of those. My pick of those three would be Heidi, one of my all time faves. Happy watching Duddahs!

One of the channels on my TV is an old film channel that always starts to play old Christmas films way early. I always enjoy watching whichever film's on, some I haven't seen in years! It's not really an oldie, but I always make it a habit of watching The Polar Express every Christmas season at least once. It's one of my most favourite films of all time. Hanks, old trains, Christmas, jolliness, etc., all things I love

OK, Duddahs and Miss Jenn have already watched their annual viewing of the original Heidi with Shirley Temple.. It is a time honored tradition in Duddahs family.
Now, on to Polar Express... Monday will be the Charlie Brown Christmas...
