LOL...I always buy Grinch stuff for my hubby. He always jokes that I'm a grinch (to which both my boys vehemently chastise him for...it's hilarious! My favorite "No she's not! She's the most lovely mother in the universe!!!"). So, of course, hubby has a nice collection of ornaments, t-shirts, lounge pants, and boxers....all with the Grinch on them! LOL Maybe I will get him socks this year! i56.TP .com/alrl1z.jpg[/img] Erin

;D Can you imagine him wearing all that at the same time? He'd definitely turn green after that. ;D

Last night, I was feeling a little meloncholy. My son is still at School and my parents have just left for a Cruise where they will not be back until the 23rd of December and my Jenn was stuck in an Airport in Europe and was not sure when her flight was going to be rescheduled to fly home.
So, I went into the DVD's and realized the my White Christmas was on VCR tape and when I updated my entire Audio/Video system last year, I never did put a VCR system in.
Now I do have a combo VCR/DVD in my bedroom but I wanted to sit by the fireplace and just have the tree lit with all the decorations around me. It smelled so nice in the house last night, so I ran down to the local store and bought White Christmas on Blue Ray.
Was so tired when I finally got back I just sat down and watched Barbara Walters and Oprah slush fest... What a waste of time! How can I get that hour of my life back?
Anyway.. Tonight...
WHITE CHRISTMAS on Blu Ray!
Also have a box of William Sonoma Peppermint Bark to break into with a cup of Hot Chocolate William Sonoma too! Both of those were tree trimming gifts from some of my friends who shared in my tree trimming last weekend.
This weekend, 3 different Tree Trimming Parties..... I think I am going to have Pine Fever by Monday!

I love the idea of tree trimming parties, have fun! I made my candy cane cookies today and watched Going My Way. What a wonderful movie, especially the ending. And I got thinking-Barry Fitzgerald might be a good Flitwick and I think Bing would be a good Lupin. Tomorrow at 8 PM one of my favorites, Meet Me in St louis is on the Turner Classic Movie Channel.

You know... one of my favorite Christmastime sort of movies is Sleepless in Seattle. In it they talk about some old movie and I have always wanted to see it because they made such a huge deal of it... They said it had Debra Carr or Debra Kerr? Something like that.

I dont know how I missed your post about the three tree trimming partires for last weekend. I do hope you had a wonderful time.
White Christmas happens to be one of my two favorite Christmas movies of all times...
White Christmas and then Oh... what is the name of that one with Jimmy Stewart and there is an angle who needs wings? It's a Wonderful Life? Well... Then last of course is A Christmas Story with Ralphie and his red ryder bee bee gun.
...
As for oldies... Well, right now I"m watching a remake of Mysterious Island with Patrick Stewart playing Captain Nemo... Or I think that is who he's playing. It is yet to be revealed.

I'm not sure who Barry Fitzgerald is but when you said Bing... Are you thinking Bing Crosby as Lupin? Now that is interesting to think about... Who would we see playing our favorite roles from Harry Potter... A new thread.. "A Harry Potter recast" I wonder what sorts of name people would put up there playing our favorite roles?

Yes you're right , I meant Bing Crosby. I saw a little of Whire Christmas the other day and thought of you all. I also liked Holiday Inn with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire. My parents had the original soundtrack of it. It was on separate records, the big ones but they only held one song on each side. I think it's probably upstairs in the attic still.

OH I have missed them playing White Christmas already? I guess I'll have to sing it to myself instead of with the movie... Maybe they will play it again pretty soon.

Watched Shirley Temples HEIDI last night during dinner. I was bad... Real BAD! I watched the Colorized Version for the first time.... They did not do a great job on the color but it was different none the less.

I just love Heidi. I haven't seen it this year yet, there's still time though. When I was little once a week they would have a Shirley Temple movie on in the afternoon and I would watch it-this was before the days of cable. I think Heidi is my favorite though, especially at Christmas time.

Then I've seen so many movies and know not what the names are in the first place.. I"m just hopless. So, I'm not even sure if I have seen Meet Me in St. Louis or not.

Miss C, I have a terrible memory, too....sometimes a movie will be on TV, and I'll say "This looks like a good one..." or "I've wanted to see that one" And my husband will tell me we already saw it....and usually at some point, I'll realize he's right! Just awful. I'm bad with names, too.

On my way with my sister to get ice cream we passed the drive in theater in our town. There was a sign there saying that as soon as the snow melts they will be opening for their 55th season! I thought of this thread as I thought that could qualify for an "oldie but a goodie."

I have that movie Chaplin with Downey JR, I thought he did an excellent job. TCM is playing all the old scary movies, I think today and tomorrow all day. When I left they had The Walking Dead with Boris Karloff. I love him, I wish he had been given more parts where he was the good guy instead of always the villain. A really good actor. just spotted this post and i also thought downey jr did a very good job!! he had chaplin's moves down and even looked a fair bit like him (except chaplin's eyes were blue and downey's are brown.) i also own that movie and it was a good purchase!

I love the music from the movie Chaplin too!
I have used it several times in the past for some of my skating students programs.
