I didn't know about Richard Harris being in a film of Camelot way back in the day, until a year or so ago. I always loved the musical stage performance I watched with him on HBO, back when I was a kid. He was young then but I think the film came first.
I rented Hugo. I barely remember Uncle Vernon being in it. Didn't he have a small dog? I might be remembering the wrong movie.

The other day, we rented a movie called "Dred" or something like that. Well, it's supposed to be a remake of the old Stallone movie from years ago called. "Judge Dread". I would like to let you guys know it's not worth watching either. THe old one was cheesy even back then.. But we had hopes for the new one. Whoa! Too much violence even for me.... but the storyline went much different than the eariler film.
Anyway... I could have sworn that the guy who also plays our Bill Weasley.... The actor who plays Madeye's real life son... I think Gleeson. I don't know... my brain is not working all that well right now. Anyway, I am nearly certain that he was in this new film. If you are like me, and like to watch a movie just because of an actor or actress... this one is not worth it. However, I do hope that in the future we get to see this guy play in something else. I do wish him luck... it's just this movie was too much to swallow.
sighs.

There was an interesting article on Minerva in my local paper this AM. She said she's never watched a single episode of Downton Abbey! She said she hates watching herself because she always sees something she could do better. A perfectionist like her teacher counterpart!

We rented a movie last night called Skyfall. It's the latest James Bond movie. Well, I was very surprised to see Voldemort was in it... then later on in the movie, there was this huge hearing of some sort. Well, I think the character front and center was supposed to be the British Prime Minister... well, she was being played by our Narcissa. I laughed because just a short ways down the table was Voldemort again. The whole think just struck me as funny for thinking of that scene where Snape joins Narcissa at a table headed up by Voldemort. I also rented Emma's Watson's, Perks of Being a Wallflower film. We watched it this morning. It was nothing like I thought it would be. There were some parts of it I could have done without, other than that I really liked it. Then yesterday during the day, I went alone to see Emma Thompson's new film, Beautiful Creatures. It also was something I didn't expect. I'd say it was alright... I just half expected to see more of Emma Thompson.. Still, she is a superb actress.... Also, this film made me homesick for the coast of Georgia. Seeing all of those huge, old trees all covered with Spanish moss. The setting was South Carolina... close enough... and seeing those old plantation houses... I also rented season three of Downton Abbey. I love that period of time. I always thought that that was the era I should have been born in... but hey... I got this age instead. LOL. I can't wait to finish the last two of three discs.... then at some other point in the future, I'd love to see the first two seasons I've missed so far. Oh... and you got to love Maggie Smith in anything she is in.

Hey, I also watched Skyfall yesterday too. It was weird to see Ralph Fiennes as one of the good guys. And wow, I didn't even notice that the actress who played the Prime Minister was the same one who played Narcissa. Overall, it was a great film though, especially if you like action.

Apologies if this has been mentioned before but did anyone see Harry Potter at the Oscars? Singing, dancing and presenting an award! And also Bellatrix Lestrange singing with the cast of Les Miserables!

Apologies if this has been mentioned before but did anyone see Harry Potter at the Oscars? Singing, dancing and presenting an award! And also Bellatrix Lestrange singing with the cast of Les Miserables! Oi! Duddahs saw them too! First time a Harry Potter major character was actually a presenter at the Academy Awards too! Yep, those peeps are way behind the times, considering that the Potter franchise is the biggest and most financially successful series of films of all time.....

Oh Duddahs I'm glad someone else saw it too! I'm a huge fan of the Oscars and look forward to it every year. Daniel Radcliffe certainly has a lot of different talents! My local paper had an interesting little piece on Robbie Coltrane-it said JKR picked him personally for his role which I didn't know. Also it said he's 62 now, I don't think he looks his age at all.

I saw his opening performance with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth MacFarlane and it was well done, I loved it! I now see why he is getting so much praise for his Broadway performances.
Also, I just saw a commercial for a movie called Quartet, featuring Maggie Smith and Michael Gambon. I haven't heard too much about it, but I know it's directed by Dustin Hoffman and features the very funny Billy Connolly.

Well.... It's come to this already.
I really liked seeing Emma Watson in the Perks of Being a Wallflower. It was pretty well written and they all did a good job. I cried in the end.
Then I see a movie trailer made by the guys who brought us the Pineapple Express. A movie I was not even close to being interested in. This new movie is called.... This is the End.
I would put up a link but I'm normally put off by bad language. I even looked for a suitable video and could not make it through the end. I finally found one that came close to what I saw on tv.
Anyway, if you could make it to the last part of the trailer, you will see Emma Watson playing herself. That part is hilarious.

I watched one of the most BRILLIANT movies that I have seen in a very long time.
Life of Pi.
The writer who is in real life Rafe Spall is the son of Timothy Spall, who is our very own Peter Pettigrew/Scabbers.
I would recommend this movie for everyone! Your heart will be opened up, your mind set adrift with possibilities and your senses will be taken on the ride of a lifetime.

Your heart will be opened up, your mind set adrift with possibilities and your senses will be taken on the ride of a lifetime. You know, I've wondered about that movie... if anyone watched or liked it. Thanks, sounds like I'll give it a try too. Yesterday, I noticed in my email inbox, I had a free redbox rental. So I browsed through their list and found a good ghost movie I totally forgot that I wanted to see. This one has Imelda Staunton (however it's spelled) Umbridge. I laughed a few times at the coincidences it had to Harry Potter. One. Umbridge played the school matrond.... The school was a boarding school for boys. On the way there, they rode a train. Many of the same scenes they used for this train trip looked just like they took it from one of our Harry Potter movies. ... or at least the same shots. My daughter even yelled out Hey it's the Hogwarts Express! LOL. However, this movie had me intrested. It's not as creepy as Dan's movie The Woman in Black. There was a mystery to it. I think it could have been edited better. Still, it's not a bad one to watch. A couple of adult scenes so it's not really for kids. It's a bit slow too. Anyway, I liked it all the same.

The movie I was watching just went off. I thought I had another all set up and ready to watch but the channel didn't change. Here's to show how lazy I am, I decided to watch the next one on. I totally forgot that Molly Weasley played in a movie with Helen Mirren called, Calendar Girls. I have not seen this one in years. Actually, it's pretty good. *snickers* I ought to go look up the trailer just to post it here.
