I've never heard of it before. Hmm?
...
I forgot until yesterday when I saw a commercial for the last Terminator movie called Terminator Salvation, that our Bellatrix also plays in it. I've seen it a couple of years ago when it first came out. It's very different from the others of that series.

You know... this is so funny. I thought I'd try to take a day off from Harry Potter... spend the day doing whatever we decide at the moment. SO.... This evening we decided to go rent a few movies at the movie rental place. At about 8pm I went to get a bucket of popcorn from the real movie theater to bring it home... best popcorn to eat while watching a film I say. WIth it being late we only had time to see one of the three. Tonight's film was " Hugo". I know Duddah had mentioned it some place here, but I can't seem to find his post. Well, lo and behold I see Uncle Vernon trying to woo Hagrid's girl from the Beaubaton's school.... Then later on we get to meet the wife of one of the major characters. (I had my glasses off due to them being swollen and red from allergies.) So I had to sit forward and take a better look... sure thing, there was Mrs. Malfoy. I made a comment to the fact that woman looks an awful lot like Eunis from the Carol Bernett show... but it was Narcissa in a wig, all dressed the part she was to play for this film. OK.... Good film... A bit slow if you ask me but still, a pretty good storyline. Then I go into my son's room to tend to him one last time before I come post this post and go to bed... His dad has him watching the more recent Indiana Jones movie... Crystal Skull... there there AGAIN... ANother Harry Potter actor. Slughorn being a very good friend to Jones resigned his job position at the school just to show JOnes support. ;D Oh how fun it is to find our dear Harry Potter friends from the films pretending to be someone else. Good night guys.

This morning, while flipping channels on the tv... I turned on a movie I have not seen in about a year... Rockstar with Mark Whalburg. I completely forgot that Wormtail was also in it.
.....
OH and I also watched Warhorse last week... There was Professor Lupin.. I have another film with him in it that has horses... I think it was Black Beauty. At least there, he played a good guy.

OK, now this is not about an actor in a movie but about places and scenes in a movie.
I was watching Sherlock Holmes with Robert Downey Junior last night.
Low and behold, many of the opening sequences were shot in places that were in the Harry Potter movies!
The circular staircase that is in a number of the HP movies is right at the beginning.
Then there was a scenes shot in what was the Room of Requirements.
Also this balcony scene in the Sherlock Holmes movie was the very same balcony area where Harry meets Helena Ravenclaw, the Grey Lady.
Many more shots and scenes that were in both movies.
It was fun trying to remember which place was in which of the HP movies...

Wow... I never noticed that before... and funny because I fell asleep watching our copy of that movie just last night. I'll pay closer attention next time. ...... BUT the other night we rented a couple of films.. One I'll have to talk about here in a minute on the owl thread. It's called "The Big Year." Well, just before it came on we were watching the previews to movies not out yet. Now, I'm not certain if it's one that is due out in theaters soon or if it's going straight to video (so to speak.) This one looks to be a fun movie. It has McGonagall, Scrimgeour and a couple of other big name stars. It's called....Hmm.... can't remember. ok that is it... Im just going to look it up.. be back if I can find a clip... GOT IT!!! Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. " Na... If I can't pronounce it I don't want to eat it." ;D Good one! ;D

Miss Charlotte,
Duddahs can not thank you enough for posting that trailer. That movie is going to be brilliant and Duddahs is absolutely going to get it... And soon too!
Duddahs noticed not only our beloved Dame Maggie Smith and Bill Nighy *Scrimgeour* but also saw Zoe Wannamaker *Madam Hooch* and both of the Patil Sisters too!
Oh and Dame Judy Dench, one of my absolute favorite Actors of all time and I always wondered why she was not in any of the Harry Potter movies. Maybe they could not afford her fee. She would have been absolutely brilliant in the role of Aunt Muriel in my humble opinion and could have really have made that a juicy role, or maybe even Bathilda Bagshot? or even Professor Sprout, not that I do not love our own Sprout... Just it could have been even that much more special with Dame Judy Dench in the role.
Thank you Miss Charlotte from the bottom of Duddahs heart,,,,, or is that his tummy, hunger is setting in.....

Glad you liked it.
....
I watched two movies last night. One I watched only to get to the second one they had on tv. I was shocked to see Vernon Dursley in an Adam Sandler movie called Bedtime Stories. One of those costumes cracked me up.. but then in another his hair looked so good. I think he looked the best I've ever seen him. Cool.
Well, the second film was already mentioned here. Love Actually. I will have to say my favorite parts were not really Alan Rickman's parts, but Bill Nighy's. He cracked me up every time it comes on I have to watch it because of him. Emma Thomson did have a sad role in it though. Bad Alan Bad!

I was not sure where to put this.... You guys by now might realize how much a fan of Agatha Christie that I am... That is why I am going straight to the source and not just learn about her works by someone else's eyes... the film makers... the tv renditions etc.. so I'm reading her books in her own words. Well, there happens to be another writer I'm equally interested in. Edgar Allen Poe. I plan on getting his works in a hardback binding... that is on my christmas list. Funny though, the games I mostly buy to play on my computer are search and find mysteries. All mostly are based on Poe's work. Not to mention some of the old classic black and white films I love to watch are based on his stories. Well.... I'm sure by now you have guessed... I'm getting ready to leave here in a few minutes to go see The Raven. When I was looking up showtimes I found out that Pam Ferris (Aunt Marge) is going to be in it. CAN'T WAIT! I already know that this is not a biography... For that I'm glad to hear... It's the fun and enjoyment of the dark mystery that leads me to see it up on the big screen. I already have goosebumps.

OK... I went to see The Raven, and I loved it... Although, I have loved other films better, I'm still going to purchase this one as well. Something I didn't notice on my quick look over the cast list before I made my last post here.... See, Poe's girlfriend had both of her parents in this film... Funny to see Madeye Moody married to Aunt Marge. Oh I just about died laughing. ;D What a pair? ;D But to be honest... they played the parts well in this film. OH and I LOVED Moody's beard... He looked all nice and spiffy.

Wee hooo! I"ve been wondering when or if ever my three favorite generas will cross paths... Well, i missed it last year.... OK... back up and start at the beginning. Last night, I went to see the new Avengers movie that is out this weekend. (it's still not beaten DH2 in sales. ) I've been a huge fan of comic book super heores since I was about six or seven years old. I loved watching the different shows when the characters were brought to television... making different series for each character. Oh yes... fond memories for me. Well, by the time I was a teen they began to step it up a huge notch with bringing those characters to films. Oh, and I thought I was on cloud nine when I discovered Christopher Reeve as Superman. Too, bad though, he's not one of Stan Lee's creations. OK.... this brings us up to today. I knew going in to watch The Avengers last night, and that they have been working on setting up this team of superheores for this film for a few years. I going into it there was one film I didn't see, Captain America. Afterwards, I wished that I had. So... tonight I rented Captain America to get up to speed. I barely remember the cartoon from when I was still in my single digits in age. Not much to go on huh? Well.... tonight it finally happened. My three favorite generas are Lord Of The Rings, Stan Lee's comic book characters, and of course Harry Potter. The cross over happened. In this film (which I have on pause so I may type this up) Has the guy who plays Elrond, the Elf King of Rivendell as the bad guy in this film. It also has Argus Filch in the beginning, guarding an ancient power source that comes from Thor's planet. Then there is Captain America a Marvel Comic character. So cool! Now if they could connect a dot of some sort to a star trek charcter actor... my planets will all have aligned. Woo hooo!

I watched two movies over the weekend on Blu Ray that I had seen previously. Friends over and they wished to see them both.
I could hardly believe that I forgot how many Harry Potter actors and Actresses and even a place were in these two movies..
The Iron Lady had tons of HP Actors and War Horse had David Thewlis as well as the opening scene where they come over the lake from Hogwarts!
If you have not seen either of these movies let me urge you to see them.
I know I have spoken about War Horse before but I can not express how much I love that movie and B'way show.. It is one of my very favorite and I now own the movie of it to watch at my home when ever I wish to.

Last year we bought the movie Thor.. I loved it. I was recently re-watching it when I noticed in the credits that Kenneth Branagh directed it. Cool. He did an excellent job too.

It was odd that for some reason, I could not just put my Talon on things in the movie "Woman in Black" starring Daniel Radcliffe.
I rented it again over the weekend and low and behold I figured it out...
The actor who played "SAM" one of the major roles in the movie, just had this distinctive voice that kept bugging me..
Low and behold it hit me; It was the voice of Aberforth Dumbledore!

Yep. It sure was. ;D We are seeing him in a lot of things these days. He also played in "Jon Carter." I love that film. It's not the best of stories but I really liked it. And Duddahs you are going to kill me for saying this... there is this martian dog that follows Jon Carter around everywhere he goes. For some reason every time I see this film... and we did purchase it... I think of your CJ. It does not look anything like him, but I think of the personality fits how I see the two. .............................. I meant to post this the other day... anyway... here it goes. The other day I was watching an old movie, " Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte." It has Bette Davis in it... Old film. Well, of course I tuned in to watch it because the name gave me a grin. I thought I had seen it before many years ago. As time went on nothing was what I thought I remembered it to be. I had it mixed up with another old fim called, " Whatever Happened to Baby Jane"..... something like that.. I'm probably messing up the name, but still, they are very similar. I still enjoyed the Hush Hush one. Funny though, it never seems to fail that whenever I'm watching some strange film, my hubby has to walk in the room when somebody is doing the oddest things. He heard Charlotte freaking out over something dumb... as usual, he just gives me this wierd look. I have to laugh. When it was over, I went flipping channels. I caught a movie called "The Avengers"... and having gone to watch it not to long ago in theaters, I wondered why it's already up there on tv. Some theaters are still playing it, but not around here. Anyway, THIS Avengers film had our Voldemort playing it it with Sean Connery (who's voice JKR's in her head for Dumbledore, ) Aunt Petunia and Slughorn were in it too. Can you imagine riding in a limo with Voldemort and eventually Aunt Petunia is playing Crochae? I could not keep watching it was a horrible film. LOL!!! It was just not right. ;D So.... I kept on channel surfing. I found ANOTHER film that I know well. Being a huge Alan Rickman fan I didn't change the channel away from this film. It's been years since I saw it.. It's called "Blow Dry". Where Snape and Scirmgeour are both professional hair dressers in a contest to win top prize. Then I laughed becuase I didn't recall that Filch was also there sheering sheep and happy about it. ;D ;D Still, what are the odds that in less than an hour you can find TWO films on each with a different set of three Harry Potter actors playing in them? ;D

I don't think I've ever heard of that one. The other day, while watching TV, I noticed a commercial with our Nearly Headless Nick in it... John Cleese. FUnny, how you came in here to mention something else he was in. ... And I am watching a film I have not seen in many years... Rob Roy. IT has TIm Roth, of whom I mentioned in my last post on another thread, and our Ollivander. John Hurt is in a ton of things. That man really gets around.
