The mods thread got pretty heated a few times. Actually, one of the biggest debates I remember on that thread was about posting in other languages. One person started it off by asking why her post in French was deleted (I think it was on a Fleur RP or Fanfic thread). It snowballed after that, people started going back and fourth, everyone posting their opinions on it, the mods not liking any of it too. The mods held firm on their decision, ultimately saying that they couldn't monitor what the poster was saying in another language, but boy were words exchanged!

Who could forget Minerva Kitty's antics? Not me, not anytime soon. I think she's gone offline entirely these days. Does anybody know?

i haven't seen or heard from MK since the hp.com days.
as far as the foreign posts, i fully understand the mods' reasoning. i was a mod at a few websites for several years and all but one didn't allow foreign posts, either.

I miss MK, I liked the game she had on this site where she posted lists and we eliminated things til there was just one left.

The last time I heard from MK was on this site, close to the time the wb site closed.
The Sorting Hat forum was one of my favourite places on the site. When the site was popular, it would take so long to post on all your favourite game threads, but it was so fun.
I remember there was a thread on the General Discussion forum where you could go and just ask questions about book or movie facts and the thread owner would explain the answers in great detail. I can't remember what it was called though...

One great memory for me-going on book discussion for the first time and this thread kept popping up ca Grandpa Lovegood Asks Your Opinion. When I finally got courage to join this thread, I was welcomed with open arms and what a great time backreading all those questions and seeing how people answered them. It's also fun to start from the beginning and see all the names of old friends and some people you might have forgotten about. This whole thread is a great asset to anyone reading the HP series.

You know the weird thing about this? I saved every post onto my test site (where I stick everything) It took forever, but I'm sad that the posts don't look the same as they did when we saw them over there. (different sites work differently.) I did it just because I could not let go of all of those conversations... the good ones that you are referring to as well as the ones where people came in causing a ruckus. LOL!

I think there was a separate board where it was all general stuff. If it was there, then I don't think I went there often. However, it does seem familiar somehow.
Keebler Elf's thread was on the book series board. I think he did that sort of thing there, like Fangsfan said.
....
I loved the Sorting hat board. I did a lot of posting there too. I will have to admit that many of the threads there I added here because we could not miss what fun we already had going.

I realized that after, that general discussion was not the same as the book board, so probably we are talking about 2 different threads. I never went to the general one much, that sounds like a thread I would have really enjoyed. Miss C, I thought I remembered you saying you had saved those posts, I'm glad they are still around even if they do look different. On the Sorting Hat-do you remember the Forehead Game? We would put our forehead on the keyboard and whatever letters came up, you had to make a sentence about HP with them. I had loads of fun with that one.

Yes the one I'm talking about was on the General Discussion board. You could ask him anything and he would either have an answer or a well thought out theory, and always willing to explain something if it didn't make sense.
He even participated in a few of the DH post sprees on the WB site, the first two I think.
I really wish I could remember his SN!

I loved the Forehead game Fangsfan, it was a really popular one too!
Other versions of it popped up too once and awhile, like the Elbow game.

When I first started out on the WB site, something that amazed me the most was how often people posted on the Gryffindor RP board. I remember posting on it once, then going back half an hour later and finding my thread almost at the end of the 2nd page of threads. It was crazy!

Yes, I can see how an elbow game would be fun too, NZ. I'll tell you one thing, the first time I did that FH game when my sister was home-I put my head down on the computer and when I looked up she was looking at me saying WHAT are you doing??

Yeah I saved the Quibbler just like I did your Limerick thread from there. So glad I was able to do that.
YES! I remember the forehead game. I totally forgot about that one. I remember making sure no one was looking when I made a post. Then laughing my head off while doing it. That was such fun.

OH I remember one of my old nemesis a girl named Stina. Boy did she put me through the ringer to prove where I got one of my theories. I can't remember which one? Fangsfan, I think you were there back then. I know it was years ago, but do you remember what she was going on about. Truthfully, I can't remember if she proved me wrong or got mad that I had my facts right. Some reason I think she was right in the long run. LOL.
Those were the days.

I can't remember Miss Charlotte but that name sounds very familiar. I think you're right, I must have been there at that time. I remember there was a long discussion, maybe even a whole thread on timelines. I remember Johan, Cardman and others discussing especially what happened to baby Harry after his parents were killed. I wasn't very good at that but it was a lot of fun to read people's ideas.

I wasn't very good at that but it was a lot of fun to read people's ideas. The one with Stina was definitely on the Quibbler thread. But I do remember the one you are talking about too. Cardman really didn't like Johan. I really liked him. He had some great ideas. Oh well. The reason I thought you might remember the one with Stina because I get the feeling something about Hagrid. I can't remember if it was a theory about the missing time when he was sent to pick up baby Harry... or if it was about Secret Keepers... and Hagrid being a "Keeper" of the keys. I really can't remember the details all of these years later, but I remember the challenge and how I was sent looking in the books to find support with my theory whatever it was.
I DO recall the one on the Lounge Thread where Cardman and Johan had a difference of opinion, but I don't remember any details.
OH and don't down talk yourself. I remember all of those questions I would put up over at the Quibbler in those days, asking for YOUR opinions (everyone but my own opinions) and I found your responses to be quite interesting and unique. I loved it when you made me think. That's why I waited on you before I would post another.

Thank you Miss Charlotte, what a sweet thing to say. I remember you said once before about Cardman not liking Johan-I think that's so funny because I talked to Johan quite a bit and I know he liked and admired Cardman so much. Never could understand why Cardman didn't like him. I remember especially those questions about baby Harry. Also after HPB came out, lots of guesses on what the remaining horcruxes would be, I think a new thread came out every day.
