With Secrets of Dumbledore trailers out, we know that Dumbledore gives Jacob a wand…I sincerely hope he cannot do magic with it, as that would completely go against canon! I hear it is explained in the movie. I also hope it’s not just a twist where Jacob is actually a wizard…the whole point of his character is that he’s a muggle….guess we’ll have to wait and see!

I definitely want Jacob to stay a Muggle too-especially as I want to see how they resolve he and Queenie marrying. I am also confused as I'm hearing this may be the last one but then in other places they are still saying there may be two more-has anyone else heard any clarification on this?

So the family decided to go out and see it on Easter Sunday. No spoilers here...I will just say that I really enjoyed it, for now. We can talk again once others have seen it.
Fangsfan, all I've heard is that opening weekend wasn't as successful as they hoped. Hopefully sales will pick up, and they can continue the series. I do think there are boycotters out there, both for JKRs thoughts on trans-women, and because of Johnny Depp's exit, but I also think that Easter weekend was not the best time to release a film. I do hope they continue the series. As far as Grindelwald goes, Mikkelson did a fine job, but I couldn't help picturing Depp and how he would have done things in certain scenes

I have never seen Mads Mikkelson in anything that I remember but it is hard for me to picture anyone but J Depp in that role as well. I do have to say that I couldn't picture Jude Law as Dumbledore before I saw him but now think he is perfect for that role.

I was pretty impressed with this film and really liked the storyline of it; always been a fan of the "assemble a team to fight the bad guy" plot. I have seen a few of Mikkelson's films in the past and I'm really glad that he made the decision to be his own Grindelwald as opposed to mimicking Depp's Grindelwald. Great performance on his part. Jude Law continues to impress me as Dumbledore, and I think he needs to stay on for the future films. I can't imagine them replacing him now. If I recall correctly too, there were talks of two more future films, pending the success of Secrets of Dumbledore. Also, I wonder if it was just me, but I noticed a lot of Easter Eggs in this film, lots of things that only us die hard fans would pick up on  |
