Miss Charlotte the other night when I came home (about midnight) there was a teeny tiny toad on the end of my walkway. Looks like our Teddy may be starting a family. OH! They sound so sweet.

I love the idea of the Toads having a family. It brings to mind about a story Duddahs once wrote about Trevor and the reason he was always escaping was because he had a family to tend to.

I love the idea of the Toads having a family. It brings to mind about a story Duddahs once wrote about Trevor and the reason he was always escaping was because he had a family to tend to. The other night, while sitting outside, I was telling my hubby about Fangsfan's toad family. It also brought to mind the story prompt that Willow set for us where I used the WB frog that loved to sing. I used him to be MY Trevor for Neville. So funny Duddahs, that each of our stories popped into our heads.

My Magical Creature... Last night, daughter wanted to wait until well after dark to watch a scary movie with me. I have to get those mother daughter moments in while I still can. So, here we were sitting in the dark, watching our supposed to be scary movie. Suddenly, we heard our cat Baby, meowing. She is such a good hunter. She's so proud of herself she has to share what she catches with us. She brought in a salamander type lizard after it's lost it's tail in the hunt. She brought it to my daughter here in the living room. At first she thought it was a big spider and was freaking out. All ended well. We caught the poor thing and let it go out front of the house where the cats can't get to it. Then gave Babe a few cat treats for her reward keeping the house clean. Problem is, she brought it in from the back porch in the first place. Got to love our magical creatures.

These are some of my baby pictures before Daddy came to bring me home; Here I am getting my hearing tests, I also had a bunch of other tests that day too! Whew, was I happy when that was over. Someone told me I now have a chip on my shoulder; what does that mean? Here I am with the nice lady who they call the breeder mom... She is very nice and lives somewhere called New Jersey with my real puppy mom, a black frenchie they call Snickers, my granddad who won the Westminter best of breed, they call him Doozer and two of my little sisters are going to stay with them too! Here I am with all of my brothers and sisters. Bet you can't figure out which one I am in this picture.

OH in that first post, Monty looks like a little pup in a big world. It's so new to him. I saw your post over at the Head Table. I'll bet he stole the hearts of everyone at your Labor Day cook out. Scratch him on the top of his head, between his ears from this ole cat lady. I'm so glad he's joined the family. He's so adorable.

Monty's first snow, he said' "heck no! I'm a Boston Terrier, not an Eskimo pie!" He could hardly wait to run off the back deck and underneath it for protection from those evil snow flakes.

OH that is so sweet. I can't believe you guys already had snow falling. (Yesterday, we reached a high of 87. UGH. Our Halloween was too warm.) Hey I can't wait to hear what Monty does when you have at least several inches of snow where he can't see where to put his feet. I hope you share it with us.

These are so adorable! How did I miss seeing this back when you first posted this? What's so funny to me, for several years, when AJ was little, I used to dress him up in the exact same costume. I would take a black eye liner pencil and draw on his face two little lines on his top lip for a teeny mustache. We took him around trick or treating and everyone said he was a heart stealer alright. Your Monty definitely looks like one too. He's so adorable. Love your Jack o'lanterns too.

OK guys.... I can't wait much longer. Here's our newest Magical Creature. You will understand why I've named him Frank once you see the Fantastic Beasts movie. It just fits so perfectly. This is Frank. He's a juvenile Cooper's Hawk. I've seen his parent around here lately too. They've been stopping by here every now and then, sitting on this railing and in the branches of that tree you see right there. (note he's right below the bird feeder. On this day, all of my birds were deep inside these bushes.) I usually shoo the hawks away because I know they are eyeballing my birds and squirrels. Really, I know it sounds bad to say this, but I don't mind him taking notice of my birds, we have about 20-30 birds to the point they are becoming a handful. However, I do NOT want them messing around with my squirrels at all. These pictures were taken through my front screen door just before lunchtime.

Miss Charlotte, Duddahs has not seen Fantastic Beasts yet but he LOVES Frank! Such a majestic creature.
Your birds and squirrels will eventually learn to co-habiate with Frank as most free spirited creatures do.
Enjoy his protection from PETTIGREWS,

Duddahs I have fallen in love with Monty. I have a picture on my wall of my Mom when she was a teenager holding her Boston terrier, I wish I could show you. Miss Charlotte I copied and pasted your pic of Frank to send to my Uncle in CT, I hoped you wouldn't mind. He turns 89 in January and is absolutely amazing, swims and does yoga every day and is an avid birder-he goes on all kinds of birding trips with a group he belongs to. He will be thrilled to see that picture.

Yeah, I love Frank. I honestly hope we don't see too much of him nor his family. They've stopped by at least 4 times in the last month. We normally see Red Tailed Hawks here in this part of the state. When I looked up the type of hawk he was, I saw that they eat birds and tree squirrels, so I know why he's stopping by. Then today... when the bad storms were on their way here, all of my FAT squirrels came home, scrambling to eat as much as fast as they could before hunkering down till the storms pass. Our temps were 77 F. this afternoon and we are supposed to get down to 25 F in a few hours. Thank goodness Frank was not around. .............. Oh my goodness, Fangsfan. I was sort of tempted not to post these pictures. Feel free to take what you want. No problem with that. Just please try not to notice the recycled hospital bed railing that my hubby had decided to use as a railing on our front porch. The motor burnt out on AJ's old bed, but hubby said he still liked the railings. One day I walked outside and there it was. I think it's cool that your uncle is a birder. (I loved this movie called "The Big Year," that starred Jack Black, Steve Martin and Owen Wilson. They are competitor birders. Loved it. Oh and it was not a comedy.) Anyway, I'm honoured that he has Franks picture. Just please don't be embarrassed by the railing if he notices.

Oh please wish us luck! Our little Dobby must have left the house when the wind blew our (not quite shut) door open this afternoon. We shut the door, and then realized that we were missing one cat. We've been looking for hours, even with the help of our neighbor, who went all over the neighborhood with a heat-sensing camera. No sign of her...and it's 12 degrees plus a wind chill that's bringing it down even further. We can only hope she's hunkered down somewhere warm! We left our garage door open a few inches with some food right inside. I also put her favorite pillow, and a blanket she likes down there. There's no direct access to the house, but it's underneath, where the oil burner is, so it's actually pretty warm in there. I hope she comes home soon! We're still going out every 15 minutes or so to see if she's around, but it's SOOO cold that we can't stay out there too long!

Oh I'm so sorry Erin, I will say a prayer he comes back. I had a little kitten that got out during a blizzard, she was missing for 5 days and then we found she had taken shelter right across the street under a neighbor's porch. I know how nerve wracking that was, hopefully your Dobby will come home soon where it's warm
