LOL. Fangsfan! It's so funny. We put up the tree about a week before we decided to put ornaments on it. We wanted to see how they, especially how Kitten would be. Every time ANY of the other cats got near the tree, Kitten used that as her chance to jump on them and run them off. LOL. SO.... once we put the ornaments on it, she made it a daily event to wait until Chris came into the room to climb up the center of the tree. She's so small and I really didn't care since she would not hurt anything. I think she waited because it freaked hubby out every time he sat down he'd have to get on to her. She's FLY clear through it too sometimes. She's a mess alright. Keeping us on our toes. This is my kitten Kitten. The one I mentioned months ago. She really does not look any different than she does in this picture. She's still a mess. We just learned today, that she's the ONLY cat we've ever had that is NOT afraid of the vacume cleaner. WOW. The rest act like it's a dragon. I guess she survived cars and trucks driving over head, this machine is a piece of cake. She's sleeping on my feet right now. got to love all of our magical creatures.

Just got my Kitten fixed a couple of days ago. She seems to be having a much harder time recovering from the surgery than any other cat we've had. It's so sad and depressing to see her not running all over the house at break neck speeds.
Dogs don't do that do they? Run though the house just for the fun of it IN THIS PARTICULAR way?
I hope Andy and the rest of the magical creatures that belong to our Loungers are doing just fine.

Loved the picture of Kitten she is so cute. I've had three big dogs and they all seem to like to run from one end of the house to the other!

NOTICE!
Anyone wanting a skinny black cat? She's quite lovable, but gets a bit stressed out from too much going on with 4 cats in the house. She really needs to be in a single pet home. She's and odd cat. Loves to play with a string I would part with, that I made for the beginning of a baby blanket. (It's beaded crochet.) She carries it around with her all of the time. She loves to do Kitty ballet making high flips in the air half the height of a human is tall. She's not afraid of mice, but does not like our newest kitten getting any attention at all. Loki is a sneaky cat and knows when she's been caught doing something sneaky. (She's the one who used to smack one of the other cats, only to scream as though SHE was the one attacked first, just to get them in trouble. Tell me that's not a smart cat. Trouble was, I already knew her victim was sleeping when she went after them. )
Yep, we need to downsize and I can't stand the fact that I have to let her go. We've had her three years.

My heart is hurting right now. My Sally squirrel loves to peek in our window. I'll post a picture I took a few days ago... soon. A few years ago when we started hanging corn on our tree to feed them, there was a mother and father with three tiny babies. They were so cute. Last year it was mainly the three babies who were my daily regulars. This year there were 5 back in the springtime, but when summer came we had to wait to buy another bag of corn. All but one found other sources of food, or got tired of corn. It happens. That one soon had a baby and now I wonder if she stayed because she was raising her daughter by our corn feeders until she is on her own. So summer was just Sally and her baby girl.
Well, yesterday morning, Sally came peeking in through my glass front screen door wanting breakfast. I went out there slowly, so not to be too bold. They normally will run up the tree and watch me from above OR jump on the roof and wait a couple of minutes for me to finish. Sally went over the house. Well, when I was nearly finished cleaning up the old empty cobs, I heard the all too familiar squirrel warning call them make when one sees a cat outside (or any danger a dog too etc.) This time it was extra loud. I thought to myself that cat somewhere must have come close.
Turned out yesterday afternoon, I found out what really happened. Somehow Sally lost two thirds of her tail. I think it must have been a cat but it could have been her tail caught on a branch and it happened all at once. I am now worried that she might have troubles balancing and now she might be in danger from being vulnerable. (Our new neighbor lets their cat out at night.)
Anyway, there was one cool thing I've learned about squirrel families. When we noticed her tail missing, ALL of her brothers and sisters and her baby (well now teenage girl) are sticking with her to help her through this and keep her safe. They were all out there again this morning. It's been a while since I had 5 or 6 squirrels out there at once. It felt good to see they are taking care of her.

Duddahs has been seriously researching a new magical friend... No one will ever take the place of C.J. and his family so a completely different breed is being looked into..
How do you friends feel about the Boston Terriers? They are also known as Gentleman Terriers or Tuxedo Terriers due to their Black and White markings and stately stance.
Duddahs has even thought of his potential name... "Belmont". All of Duddahs pups have been named after the families or places in Newport RI, the place that calls Duddahs home time and again. The racetrack "Belmont Park" is named after Hazard Perry Belmont, who built Belcourt Castle in Newport RI on Belleview Avenue. After Alva Vanderbuilt divorced, she married Belmont and moved across the street from her previous summer home in Newport known as the stunning Marble House. They both still stand today and Belcourt Castle is presently being completely restored to it's original splendor for several hundred million dollars worth of workmanship.
Duddahs has not ruled out a second pup too as a companion... Maybe a little girl by the name of Alva? By the way, Belmont will be nicknamed Monty...

Boston terriers were a big deal in my family. My mother had one growing up, they were a very popular breed then. Her Boston was called Lucky and was absolutely adored, we always heard a lot about Lucky. Then when we were little she had a part Boston and part fox terrier named Scamper. She was a lovely little dog and lived to be about seventeen. So I grew up hearing what wonderful dogs they are-Duddahs I'm betting you will really love the newest addition to your family.

Let the mating season commence. The birds have been going at it ever since the snow melted here. Then the other day I wondered where my squirrels got off to, only to notice them out in the back tree going at it. They were not fighting either. So fun to see them doting over each other happily as if they were people. They reinforced their nest over the next few days too. I currently am watching my little baby squirrel eating out in front, just a few feet away. We have this ONE grown up squirrel who seriously chases this baby one away. I wonder if she's already carrying a little one. They do get very aggressive while they are pregnant. Anyway, I love this baby one. She's very self assured and quick on her feet. Smart too. She does maneuvers you would not believe to shake the aggressive one from her tail and when she's chased off, she's back a few minutes later. Not scared one bit. Hey Duddahs.... are you still thinking about a new pup? I know you are currently undergoing repairs to your house, I was not sure if you were going to treat yourself with a new little one once they are finished. .... Erin... I just finished watching Graham Norton on BBCA. They had Toby Jones (the guy who plays Dobby.) It made me wonder about YOUR Dobby and how he/she's doing. .... Fangsfan... I also wonder about Duke and Andy often as well.

Duddahs is going to go ahead and wait for warmer weather to find Belmont... It will be much easier to house train in the sun than the snow..

Duddahs is going to go ahead and wait for warmer weather to find Belmont... It will be much easier to house train in the sun than the snow.. I don't blame you really. I can't imagine going out at night with it the cold. Brrrr. However, many many years ago, when I had a puppy, I remember going out in my back yard (this was years before we got our first computer) We lived so far out in the country there were no street lights around. Then those days when there was no moon BUT it was a warm summer night, we could see ALL of the stars in the heavens. So beautiful. It was not until I went to walk that same puppy in the fall, that I noticed that the stars seemed to have fallen to my ground in the back yard. No kidding... thousands or millions of tiny lights beneath the blades of grass, but slowly twinkling. Turned out that I learned that fireflies burrow down into the earth when they hunker down for the long winter's nap. During the summer, they would cover the trees in the forest at the far back of our property to the point it looked like white lights twinkling like the forest were Christmas trees. I would have never known they hibernated each fall if it were not for me needing to walk that puppy. So beautiful the world we live in.

OH how I love it when my cats all run though the house like a heard of centaurs in Hogwarts forest. Kitten literally bursts through the cat flap door (in the back door,)making us jump so hard, then laugh. And she's just getting started on her morning run through the house.

Our Teddy the Toad has returned for the summer. Of all places I found him in the trunk of my sisters car. We had taken a bunch of plants to the cemetery to plant for Memorial and I think he must have been hiding in one of them. We came home and I started taking out the leftover plants and got quite a surprise! He's now back in my little garden and seems to be settling in again.

Miss Charlotte the other night when I came home (about midnight) there was a teeny tiny toad on the end of my walkway. Looks like our Teddy may be starting a family.
