I'm getting impressed with something these tv shows have started doing lately. Not only Merlin, but the new show I have been watching called Lost Girl, have had to stretch their their reach to find new magical creatures that are out of the norm. I mean... this post is not giving things away... we here have beenwatching Merlin for several seasons to know what I mean. To me, I think this is cool that there still are many unexplored... unwritten magical creatures that have nearly been forgotten about. I guess the next time I go to a bookstore, I'm going to look once again for one of those encylopedia of magical creatures just to take home with me. So cool. But sad in a way... we seem to have the same magical creatures thrust in our faces over and over again.... why not come up with a new take on old magical creatures like these shows have? you bring up a good point, misscharlotte!! For instance, ok I started watching Harry potter movies before Merlin came out. well, Merlin started using some of the same creature names ( same names, but different uses and powers for these creatures) that were in HP!! They've done the same thing for the doctor who series too. On Merlin, I have often wondered where the producers and co got those old books that they have in the library of Camelot. I would love to get my hands on those. I LOVE old books!!

i was over at a friend's yesterday to visit and jam. later in the afternoon, we ordered a pizza and turned on the tv to see what was on. it was close to 5, so i mentioned to my friend that merlin was coming on. i told him about before, but he hadn't seen it yet, so we watched it. he liked it, but he doesn't like it like i do.

JB--encourage your friend to watch it again. I'll bet that person will get hooked on it just like us!! I just bought series 3 on DVD, the whole season. Ok I was looking for a scene in one of the episodes of season 3, but it wasn't IN there like it should have been. Boo Hoo!!! But, I'll keep these dvd's since I spent my money, and because I want to re use those other VHS tapes for my new favorite tv show.

Ok It's been awhile since I've posted here. I have a question, for anyone who is viewing this post---What seasons of Merlin have you seen up to now?
As for me, I have seen all of seasons 1 thru 3, and most of season 4, which is airing now on the syfy channel. It would be nice to have a discussion on this. Not exactly spoilerish, but just a little tidbit here and there.

I deleted a ton of old pm's and forgot to save the link you sent me where I could watch them online... I would be most grateful if you could post it here. I could kick myself for not saving the link as soon as you sent it to me. kick! OUCH!... I need to cut my nails. OK.... Here it goes:

probably too late to mention this now-- but BBCA tv channel was having a marathon of Merlin today for seasons 1 and part of 2. This is the FIRST time Merlin has been shown on that channel. Who knows, maybe series 5 will show up on this channel when it actually airs in the UK in its first run!! I'm keeping my toes crossed.

I was having a very busy day yesterday. I did know that there was to be a marathon on BBC America channel. I planned on watching it. I lost track of time because of cleaning out several closets today.... yesterday. Seems like all of my neighbors were having yard sales this weekend. I finally had MY family out from underfoot, so I jumped at the chance. Anyway, I didn't sit down until about four thirty last night. I was trying to find some show for my son to watch when I saw on the channel guide it was on. OH I was missing it. SO, gladly I was able to get the last few shows. I thought I had already seen all of the first season. I was shocked to see that these were the ones I've been wanting to see... or finish seeing. Now I know why Merlin was angry at the dragon back then. How I know how this verion created Excalibur. They even had an episode with the Sorcerer's Stone. I had no idea that Gwen's father was ever on the show. THey even showed a unicorn on one episode. Things I've wondered about are making more sense. I could harldy keep my eyes open by the time the last one was finished. OH... from the commercials, it states that on Saturday nights about eight pm my time... They will be having back to back showings. YAY. I've missed this show. I too wonder if on our regular channel we will get the next season, IF there really will be another one. I hope so. I'm thinking for BBC America, They might be starting from where they left off of this marathon. For me, I hope so.

i'm glad that you finally got to finish watching some of the epis that you missed!! a good thing that BBC america finally started showing them, its high time as BBC is british and no reason why they wouldn't let their affiliates play the epis.
yesdterday moning, i woke up and turned on the tv to find E.T. was on!! i haven't seen that in years!!! then they aired all 3 of back to the future, but i didn't watch that. i had to go out and pick up a few things, then i left to meet a friend and i was out all day.

We are getting ready to call in to have our cable package reduced... but only while my hubby is out of work for medical reasons. I'm hoping that this won't mean I'll be loosing the BBC channel. I finally found something to look forward to watching during the week. Saturday nights will have two shows of Merlin from the early years.
Hey... if any of you hear about a new season of Merlin to be airing soon. PLEASE let us know.
I have not seen ET in years. I know every time I see it I think of Drew Barrymore and Reese's Pieces.

Merlin is scheduled to be airing season five on the syfy channel in january of 2013. Miss charlotte I hope your cable downgrade won't last very long. Did you record season four on your dvr or VCR player this year? If not, there are still some sites I know of, for you to watch it online. I am soooo glad BBCA has started airing Merlin-- I was gobsmacked when they first had the marathon on June 8th. It's about time. I have season one, 2 , 3 on DVD and season four is on Videotape. But I haven't watched them lately due to other tv shows. But I still love Merlin!!

We have not done the downgrade just yet. But it will be soon. And I asked him if this means we will loose BBCamerica.. yep. it's on that list. Here I've taken to watching several other shows on that channel. Anyway, my downgrade will only be for about four months.... just until my hubby starts getting a paycheck again. I did get to watch the two shows last night. ... Well, sort of. You know how it goes when you wait all week to watch ONE hour of television, that is when the phone wants to ring constantly or your family wants to cause a ruckus. SO... the one episode I wanted to watch most last night.... the one where Merlin sends Morgana to the Druids and so she finds out she has magic.... I"m going to try to watch it on the link you provided here. Right now, my family STILL has me hopping. Once I'm all hopped out I'm finding a quiet corner to plug in my computer to watch this one. From what I have seen it is a good one. As for recording... I tried to record the Harry Potter special the other night... The one that aired several times last year about the magical creatures from the films etc. I still have yet to watch it because of last years work schedule made me miss it. Then from what I noticed the other night, I'm going to have to figure out a way to rewire my recorder to where it will record from the cable. I have one more trick up my sleeve or else give up. I think the cable company put in a block to prevent this. (Not to mention, they don't sell vcr's here anymore and I wore my last one out from recording and watching the shows repeatedly on it.) But the funny thing. When I could not record the HP shows the other night, I had missed too much of them and I want to watch it in it's entirety not just the last half of it... I found the disc that I was trying to record the HP show on.. I had plenty of room left on it, BUT I ended up watching two of the Merlin episodes from last season. ;D OH good grief!

Over the weekend I did a marathon. It was strange sitting here watching tv over my laptop. I finally figured out how to get Hulu to work on this thing.. but I can't figure out HOW I did it. I never realized that I never saw the first episode before. I watched a few more in sequence and now so much more makes sense to me. I had seen some of the others but only parts of them. Thanks again for the link mk. It got me to where I could see what I hoped to. I'll keep my eye out for season 5.
