;D I clicked on that bald eagle link.... and my birds in the next room went nuts. They think they were talking to the birds they heard coming through my computer. Then when I clicked to come back here.... they hushed. ;D
Were those live feeds?

;D Yep.... Here I kept waiting to see the eggs hatch and they never would... Then I realized this must be a live feed. Cool to see though. I saw the baby owl move in the back... At first I thought it was bedding material for the nest then I realized THAT was the baby. ;D OH boy... my brain? It makes me laugh at how slow I am at times. At least I get it soon enough. I"m going through pictures today to post here... There was one I told fangsfan a while back that I would post here as soon as I figured out how to. Well.... I figured it out... now to find it to post it for her. It's of the owl scented wax warmer that I bought weeks ago. I have a candy cinnamon scent in it right now. be back laters.

Rented a movie the other night called The Big Year. It is filled with a lot of big named stars. We wanted to watch a comedy and this one was filled with lots of comedians... Funny thing, they were being serious actors today. What's up with that? Anyway... it's all about bird watching. Jack Black, Owen Wilson and Steve Martin were all competing to see who could personally spot the highest number of birds for a single year. There are other stars in it as well... JoBeth Williams and a few more who I can picture in my mind right now, but not remember their names. Anyway... OWLS... Owen Wilson was the old winner for the year before. This particular year the Snowy Owl was the bird that kept eluding him.

Today my sister showed me a picture someone posted on Facebook-a group of big red strawberries and in the middle it looked someone had carved the face of an owl right in the middle of one of the berries-I immediately thought of this thread. Sometime this spring I hope to visit the Maine Wildlife Park and I will hopefully see real owls there. I will post about them here if I do, not sure when I will get there but it's a great place to visit.

Yesterday I was watching Deathly Hallows 2. I never noticed that in the hallway upstairs in the cottage at Godric's Hollow. There is a large wall unit. Up on top of it is an owl. Now we all knew that baby Harry had owls on his mobile hanging over his crib... but this other was something that surprised me.

I am doing a lot of spring cleaning and came across a lot of my Mom's old earrings, she had hundreds. I found this pair of tiny owl earrings, so cute. I didn't remember ever seeing them before. Also I get a catalog in the mail, Creative Irish Gifts that I order from quite a bit. One came this week and the cover had a beautiful Celtic owl on it. I seem to see owls everywhere I go lately.

I know what you mean. The other day I went to the mall looking for something in particular. On the way out there was the cutiest owl birdhouse. The eyes were the holes the birds would fly into.
Still, everywhere I looked I saw more owls. To me this is cool.

Last week was National Hospital Week and they had all kinds of prizes for the employees. I, who usually don't win anything, won this big gift basket. Mostly beach related items-sun hats sunscreen, flip flops-and then a kite. And on the kite is-you guessed it-an owl!

I have had a set of Antique Owl Andirons in my living room fireplace since back in the mid 1980's but I do not have the matching fireplace tools. I know they exist as I have seen them and made a big mistake years ago not buying a set for $200 because they were a mid 20th century recast set. Well as it turns out, the antique tools that match my Owl Andirons are now selling in the $1,800+++ range and that is if you can find them. A set of the later recasts have come up by a seller on the site where we own our online Antiques Shop.... Here is what they look like. I am not going to buy this set even though they are about what I am expecting to pay, it turns out they were repainted and that is something I don't want.. They are cool though I think and someday if I am lucky, I will actually find the real set for $1,000. or less (really hopes it is less but I can wait) www.trocadero.com/eastdennisantiques/items/1142730/item1142730.html

I'll try to take a look at your link here in a minute... (I only have a minute left before I have to go.) I just wanted to say that I was out yesterday with my daughter. A new store opened up in the mall. We had to stop and look at all the cool new stuff they have. It seemed like what Fangsfan says is happening here too. Everywhere I look I notice the owls. It's so funny too. Then I have the urge to take my phone and take pictures of all of it. I think we really could make a collection to post here on the owl thread. I saw the cuties little set of owl candles... then a mosaic mirror that is in the shape of an owl. Then crystal cut owls. I have to look for the chip to place into my phone so I can transfer the pictures to the computer. These things are so cool! Now I"m off to look at Duddah's link. Toodles!

Me too Miss C! I have always loved them even as a child before HP was written. But I have wondered if the HP books had anything to do with this owl resurgence. I've also noticed the name Lily is very popular for girl babies now and have wondered if this came about from HP.

I've always loved owls too since I was very little. I think I might have been around 10 years old. I thought it would be cool to own a white snowy owl or a black panther. From that day on, I have always thought that those two creatures were the most exquisit creatures on this earth. Then when I first saw the first movie, I thought it was cool to see Harry owned a snowy owl. I mean, what kid gets that!? WOW!
