YES... Exactly the same for me. I fell in love with owls when I was about 7 or 8 years old. That was when I first noticed them everywhere. Then it seems like everywhere I go, there is another one staring back at me from some sort of place or thing. They seem to have come back into fashion. For me, frogs and owls were my thing from childhood. Not my favorite animal.. but just as trinkets.. ear rings, toys, printed something another's. LOL. So this is why I started this thread... again, while I was waiting for my owl from Pottermore... another type of owl. LOL.

For some reason, every time I see a cartoon owl, I think of the old days and the Tootsie Roll Pop owl... Now that it's getting to be closer to Halloween... I think of this even more. I actually used to count each lick... I'd keep going even though my tongue was raw. I had to see if the one I was working on would beat the number of licks I got from the one before. i45.TP .com/jshnkk.gif[/img]

I saw a kids Halloween shirt that said, 'Spooky Hoot" and the two "'o's" were owl eyes.

Greetings from Connecticut! I'm at my Aunt and Uncle's house and they let me use their computer for a few minutes so I could say hi. They have a beautiful back porch and yard-I went to take some pictures and what do I find but a big owl statue! I took a pic and my sister will help me try and post it here when she's home.

I did have so much fun visiting my famiy-thanks Miss C. The next day we wet to a small, family run apple orchard where you could pick your own-On top of the barn they had an owl statue-looked like the same one they had at my Aunt's house.

Turns out that one of the Owls we have in our park has a Baby Owl in its nest.
The town came by to remove a few trees that were damaged in our recent hurricane only to find that one of the trees had an Owl and a nest and BABY OWL in it.
They contacted me since I am one of the commissioners for the park and informed me that they will remove the tree in the spring, after the winter period and before nesting again.
They are going to have our local conservators professionally remove the nest and the owl and replace it in another site here at the park before removing that tree in the spring.
YEAH for OWL POWER!

Duddah, were you able to see it or did you have to just take their word for it? OK.... let me find better words... I just wanted to know if you had the privledge of getting to see such a wonderful site yourself? I think it would be so cool.
Now I've always been told never to mess with a birds nest or else the baby/eggs would be abandoned by the parent. That is why I wondered if you got to see it yourself.
.........
I came here to post that the other night I found a long sleeved light green nightgown that has little owls all over it.

Miss Charlotte,
I have just gotten to see the baby owl this past weekend. He is cute, tiny but cute!
No Mamma Owl in the nest at the time but I could hear the father somewhere nearby.
I went out very early in the morning when the sun was not fully up to check it out.

Tell me... is this the same baby owl that came from your tree? If it is or is not, still I agree, it's simply adorable. I wonder if Pig would have been that small as an adult?

Just had to post this....
I have gotten acustomed to leaving the tv on while I'm gone to work. Usually it was to make people think someone might just be home.. Yes... security reasons. So, this seems to be a habit I have yet to kick. SO, when I got home a few minutes ago, I walked into my room only to find there was some animal rescue show on... Jack Hannah's something anothers? What caught my eye he was holding a beautiful huge brown colored owl in his hands. Someone called him to say that they found it just laying there that morning in their driveway. He was healthy and allert. So he took it with him to whereever he works. Something was bleeding on his shoulder. I have no idea how that story ended or if I'll find out here in a bit.
Still... he was beautiful. I hope he'll be alright.

The Owls are in their glory this time of year at the park.
The Bats that come out as the sun goes down tend to go into hibernation during this time of the year and that leaves all the mice and rats and other small critters that live around the waters edge to become snacks for our favorite birds of prey..
We do have Heron and other water birds here now that the Duck Grass and punks have gone into their time of the year.
