My Harry Potter thought for today; Since the Flue Network could be hooked up to the home of Muggles upon the discretion of those in power at the Ministry of Magic, how was it that they were unable to use this way of entering the Dursley's home at Number 4 Privet Drive after the fall of the Ministry? The only thing I can think of is that they didn't trust the people who took over the ministry. I think something similar to when Umbridge was watching the Hogwarts fires.... then her little grubby hand reached down trying to get someone. I can't remember if Sirius was trying to talk with Harry. Oh gosh! Boy do I need to go back and reread the books. |

My Harry Potter Thought for the day..... I wonder if JKR has in her mind that when they rebuilt Hogwarts, if they would have downsized it or made it bigger. In my mind's eye, I would think they would have kept it the same... Still, what would she have imagined?  |

My Harry Potter thought for the day...
First, I have not thought about this in years.... When Harry got his first Hogwarts letter, it said that students were allowed an owl OR a cat OR a toad to bring as pets. Now how would JKR have that established then have Ron bring his pet rat? Wasn't it Padma or someone else who left their pet bunny at home which died while she was in school? She didn't bring her rabbit. Then no one said anything to Ron for Scabbers.

ANOTHER Harry Potter thought for the day..... 
I've been doing research on mythological creatures in JKR's world as well as in history. Trying to differenciate where she changed things for HER world from already established folklore or mythologies.
OK for the mythologies... I have particularly been focused reading the books where the Centaurs were mentioned. Just to (refreshen my memory) get a feel of their countenance... their personalities... moods and habits.
Well, a little while ago, I was rereading the part where Firenze was holding his first class. I forgot all about his classroom and thoughts I had so many years ago. I don't think I ever asked the question back on the old Quibbler thread at the WB... IT was described much in the way of having soft mossy, earthen floor, trees and boulders were where the students leaned against to look up at their starry ceiling. I KNOW Hogwarts is a magical school... building. But when I read this part, I wondered if THAT room was much like the Room of Requirement in how it changed for the requirements needed for Firenze to teach his class. I wonder if Dumbledore knew this room was there, since at first he really didn't know the Come and Go room existed or not until much later. It made me wonder if they are both the same type room, just this one was always known to the headmaster and that's why it was always kept locked.
SO... was there TWO Room of Requirements? only one comes and goes, where this one stays put.  |

I always felt like some of the original magic would survive and lots of things would actually rebuild themselves and come back on their own after the fighting had stopped. |

A good thought Duddahs, and once they do, how much fun to attend a house elf wedding. I wonder if on their wedding day they are allowed to put aside their rags and wear a wedding gown and suit of some kind?

Reading in GOF where Karkaroff warns Krum not to give too much information about Durmstrang to Hermione because it would give away their location. I wondered why does the locations of the schools have to be kept secret from each other? Wouldn't international wizarding cooperation involve sharing this info? Or is it just that Karkoroff wanted it kept secret so Voldemort wouldn't find it? I feel like I'm missing something somewhere. This is my thought for the day.

Really, I always imagined they all want to keep their locations secret from each other. I never understood why, but that last bit where you said Karkaroff didn't want Voldemort to find him really does serve him well. I sort of thought, back in the day, that he might have taken up that post as headmaster of Durmstrang just because he was in hiding... but never the other way around.

I wonder if JKR will reveal to us, the differences of magical law in different parts of the world? One main question.... Are students all over the world required to NOT do magic during the summer months? Or is it only in Harry's part of the world?

I was noticing how in the last movie, they hinted Neville and Luna would get together, not Neville and Hannah as JKR has said. I wondered if they did that because N and L as couple was so popular with fans, and if so was it JKR or the producer's idea? My thought for the day.

Most people in the world will date several people after they have finished school before they settle down with their one true love. This is just how I put it together in my mind. I can't wait to see what creature he was messing around with that almost killed him. Surely not a dragon. There's no way to keep those at the school without Dumbledore's knowledge. OK ok.... I was wanting to post that question to everyone on the movie thread. Perhaps, I will do that soon.  |

Thank you Erin for sending Duddahs on a fantastic journey!
When Duddahs attempted to retrieve his wand information, he was informed that he had to once again sign up.
So began the adventure; Duddahs was resorted and now is where he felt he always belonged; Gryffindor! His wand now is Vine with Unicorn hair and measures 13 3/4" long.
Duddahs went and read all he could digest in the sitting which turned into a two hour fun fest for the ole bird. He did in fact find that Ollivanders "FATHER" preceded him as the proprietor of Ollivanders.
Now this was FUN!
