I loved the idea of Hogwarts library from the beginning-all those wonderful books and then the fun of going into the restricted section at night. And I just loved it when the showed the screaming book in the movie.

In honor of my great niece Lily, one of my favorite scenes from Half Blood Prince is when Slughorn tells Harry about the Flower that became a beautiful fish given to him by Lily Evans

I will say the actor who played Cedric's father did an excellent job when Cedric was brought back to him. He still makes me want to cry.
...
For the longest, I jumped every time with that screaming book scene came on. I remember back in the days when we used to make theories, I used that one to think it's possible that either THAT same screaming book, or another one there at the school IN the restricted section might be a possible Horcrux. Oh well, I guess the diary was the only one, but it did have different properties than that book. I'm still not fully convinced that it is not a Horcrux that belongs to someone else.
....
Oh I love that fish scene. I wonder if JKR did slip that story to the producer on the side. Hoping he might use it in the film.

I never thought about the book as a horcrux, great theory. As to the Cedric scene, I so agree with you Miss Charlotte. It really brought it home to me what a terrible thing that was, maybe more so than the books which doesn't happen very often with me.

Another scene that I have to stop and watch is in the second film. Down in the Chamber of Secrets when Tom Riddle let Harry in on who he really was and what he's after.
Then again a few minutes later.... Here comes the basilisk, slithering out of the mouth of Slytherin. WOW! RUN!!!! HARRY RUN!!!!

One of Duddahs favorite scenes was in the very beginning of Chamber of Secrets with Harry under the sheets trying to perfect Lumos Maximus.
Only thing is why would this have not been considered under age magic but magic by a non Wizarding creature such as Dobby was?

Anyway, that was a movie mistake....as was the OOTP, in the beginning of that movie, flying right down the river where lots of muggles could see them. Great scenes, but very inconsistent with wizarding rules! Erin

You are correct Erin. I know it was not in the books and was just going off my foggy memory.
I always did find it sort of odd and out of order but it was such a cool scene anyway.
Now, how come the twins and Ron were not slapped with warnings due to the use of the flying Ford Anglia? Now that WAS canon.

Well, we know that flying on brooms, thestrals, and Sirius' bike was untraceable, as flying was the only means they could use that the MOM wouldn't be able to detect when they tried to get Harry away from 4 Privet Dr. So, maybe the car flying wasn't detectable. The charms Arthur put on it would be, but since they had already been done at his home, maybe those didn't matter even if the car went elsewhere? Erin

Another Moment in Time for me was watching the Quidditch lesson for the first time. One thing I really liked was how it showed Hermione having such a hard time with the Up command to her broom. She was so good at everything it was refreshing to see her struggle a little and it was true to the book.

I know what you mean. Sometimes it's so easy to think that when a person is so good at everything else, that it must come easy. Then when you see that one thing that is a struggle for them, it's really strange to see them in a different light. It makes them a bit more human. Hermione stuggling like that was so like the books.
...
OK.. I'm watching the HP POA right now on tv. One of the moments I liked about actually SEEING it up on screen was the events when Peter was revealed and how the trio reacted when hearing about Lupin being a werewolf and how Sirius was innocent all this time. I do remember when they cast Gary Oldman as Sirius, I was already a fan of a couple of his other films (NOT ALL ew.) Anyway, he really didn't seem like how I invisioned Sirius Black to be. But now I can't see the character in any other way.
ps.... I also always loved how we see the think layer of dust in the Shrieking Shack just like how the books described. Then there was Sirius Black's huge dog footprints in the dust on the floor. LOVED it for some weird reason. LOL

Ok I can't seem to find it, but I seem to recall one of you mentioned that scene where Hermione had to obliviate her parents. I can't help but agree. It was heart wrenching to watch. (and I did again just a little while ago.)

(and I did again just a little while ago.) It may have been me...I was so glad that they added this scene to the movie, whereas we only hear Hermione say she did it, in the books. I do get tears during that scene as well. Erin
