The scene in the reptile house was one that Duddahs and Dudes pup replayed time and again.
We have a small Zoo in Bridgeport Ct. called the Beardsley Park Zoo, It was created in the early part of the 20th century and it has the name Reptile House with the 1920's date over the entrance door. Dudes pup would beg Duddahs to take him to the Zoo which was only a few blocks from the Wonderland of Ice that Dudes pups dad was the director at during his youth.
The smell was terrible and very memorable and the elephant enclosure and pool with performing seals were his favorites. Duddahs could never say no to his pup and many afternoon were spent eating hotdogs and strolling through the animal display but Duddahs found the tropical greenhouse to be his favorite.

YAY for Reptile House and YAY for exactly what Fangsfan said. I think it's cool to be here with you guys at the same time.
....
One of the things I really loved to watch on screen was the Marauder's Map. Watching the tiny little footprints walking through the halls of Hogwarts, each with a name beside it. It also surpassed my imagine from reading that part in the book. (Hmm? I think I have something to add about this that I plan to talk about on the Harry Potter Thought for the Day thread.) I've often wondered if the words shown on the map, that looked to be the walls of the school, if they were really spells that the founders used to help make the school? Anyway, I think it's cool.

My sister gave me a mug from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter a few years ago. When I pour my hot coffee in it, the foot prints become dark black and walk all over the mugs surface. As the coffee goes down and the mug becomes cooler, they slowly disappear. By far this was my favorite post movie credit runs where the footprints from the map intertwined with the titles, names of the cast and working members of the film

And I love how the footprints change, depending on the character/actor name on the screen at the time. Erin

Oh yeah... and all of the other hidden things on the map. If I am recalling correctly, there are some kitty footprints. Some footprints are like mine, bare, where others have shoes like what's in this we see here.
Duddahs, I saw that mug and remember the shop it came out of. Wow. I think I know what I'm going to drop a coin for....

Are there really kitty footprints on that map, that is so cool, I'll have to watch again and see if I can find them. Another memory more me is the first time the boys attend Transfiguration class and McGonagall transforms from a cat-I love that scene.

Yeah, if I remember correctly, there are. Now this makes me want to go back and watch the whole ending again. Just to see what the credits are showing around the time the kitty prints show up.
.....
I'll have to say THAT scene in the previews for the first film (where she turns FROM a cat into her human form) is what made me want to watch the movie in the first place. Most of the time, we are always shown the other way around. I still love that scene. Then add Ron's words, it cracks me up. LOL
.....
When Harry finds the Mirror of Erised, is another scene that I have to stop and watch fully. I love that mirror. Then when Dumbledore talks to Harry, saying my favorite quote from the books....

Oh that's one of mine too. I loved that scene in the book and thought they did well with it in the movie too. I noticed on Harry's walk in last movie, they had the same actors for James and Lily that were in the very beginning, I thought that was nice.

Even though the movie series had several abrupt actor changes, considering the time period the movies were made over they did very well for continuity.
Characters that stick out as relacements in Duddahs mind are as follows;
Album Dumbledore Tom Riddle The Fat Lady Tom the Keeper at the Leaky Cauldron Professor Flitwiks appearance Dobby's voice change from Chamber of Secrets to Deathly Hallows 1 The appearance of the burrow from one movie to the next Hagrid's Hut after SS/PS but loved the hut in PoA

Wow, those are very interesting, I had noticed some but not all. I definitely have to check out the hut now.

Funny how you mentioned different people playing roles in the films. I read the other day where there were SEVEN actor's who played Voldemort during the films. Wow. I knew there was more than a couple, but how funny that there were seven and that JKR likes to use certain numbers like this one in her series.
.....
At first I didn't like the recast for the Fat Lady, but since, I have seen Dawn French in her own TV series and love her dearly. She's a real hoot!
I also was glad for the recast of Aberforth Dumbledore. The books mentioned how he looks so like his brother, then when I saw the first one, he didn't remind me anything of Albus. However, I did feel for the actor who played him in DH. They actually took impressions from Michael Gambon to make a face to put on the second actor for Aberforth. ugh. what a day?

Thought I'd go looking for this, this morning.
Here's is one of my most favorite parts from all of the films. Hermione reading the story of the Three Brothers. Makes me want to go reread my Tales of Beetle the Bard book.

OH I also loved ALL of the dips into the pensieve! Getting to see young Snape as well as Tom Riddle when he was younger... what they were like. Also, getting to see the Marauders when they were Harry's age. I'd love to see what my parents were like when they were teens. For that matter, I'd love for my own daughter to see what I was like when I was her age.

I was always one to fast forward or better yet, just turn my head when it came to the drool scene. That gives me the heebee-jeebees. But as you said... Well done.
.....
I'll have to say the first time we got to see the inside of Honeydukes was a treat for me.

Ok... here it comes....
I happened to have loved the Malfoy scene in Borgin and Burkes where Harry witnesses seeing Lucius and Draco together for the first time, from his hidden place in the vanishing cabinet.
