And the merpeople too-I can picture a whole underwater celebration going on.

Another thought I had-did the spiders in the forest-Aragog and his children-celebrate Christmas? Did they invite Hagrid? That's one party I might take a pass on!

Also I wonder if someone makes a special trip to the Owlery on Christmas to bring special owl treats to all of them?

Also I wonder if someone makes a special trip to the Owlery on Christmas to bring special owl treats to all of them? Now here's a scene I've imagined before... I imagined that after the hustle and bustle of flying to deliver Christmas items, the owls lay nestled warm in the Owlery, or maybe they wander out into the Great Hall to attend the Christmas Feast! I always pictured all the beings/creatures of Hogwarts coming together at the Christmas Feast. House-elves, ghosts, owls, etc. like one big family.

House-Elves-surely they must celebrate Christmas somehow. Maybe they give each other small gifts? Then again, maybe their idea of celebrating is working?

I think a little of both. I think they'd love doing all the work for the Christmas celebration, but late at night after everybody else is exhausted from the day, the elves might exchange gifts and maybe have an elf singalong.

This all has been making me think, it would be so nice to stay at Hogwarts for the holidays with family. The atmosphere around it would just be so festive!

Yeah, imagine if you could bring family members who had never heard of Hogwarts, now that would be a Christmas surprise!

Yeah, imagine if you could bring family members who had never heard of Hogwarts, now that would be a Christmas surprise! I wonder what the Dursleys would think of Hogwarts if they could go, specifically Aunt Petunia. I wonder if she would remain her usual uptight self, or be happy and embrace her childhood dream of going there.

I bet deep down she'd be glad to be there and finally see what it was all about. I think Uncle Vernon would hate it, Dudley-I think he'd be scared to death at first but might end up likeing a lot of it-especially if he had someone to show him around.

Spending most of the day without overhead lights and I remembered on the WB there was a post about what is your favorite spell. I always would answer Lumos-guess I was right about that one, it sure would come in handy!

Speaking of bringing family to Hogwarts I wonder how Hermione's parents would like it-they always seemed so supportive of everything she did. And it seems like they would have some sort of graduation ceremony when students had finished their years at Hogwarts-I wonder if Muggle parents would be invited to that?

It never does mention that there is a ceremony of any sort, but surely there must be a one. I'll have to look it up...

Here it is...
That seems like a pretty cool tradition, leaving on the boat as you arrived as a 1st year. So symbolic in so many ways! I wonder what other graduation traditions Hogwarts has?
