These are some tough ones. Could this be Grawp? Half of him would still be bigger than his brother Hagrid? And their giant;s blood came from their mother who is now dead. So sounds like Grawpie speaking and the brother would be Hagrid.

Could this possibly be Voldemort? He is one who thinks he's more powerful than any witch or wizard who ever lived. No one even speak his name, much less cross him they are so scared of him. He is so full of himself that he believed anyone with any might will fall they are so inferior to him.

The only thing I can think of that matches this would be a Bogart. But then they don't have personality nor do I see them as the most powerful of all.
So... Let me think some more.... 
I also think of Dementors .... but same thing.
It almost sounds like a shape shifter of sorts.
Hmm? A character with a bigger than life personality that is powerful..... Dumbledore? But he can't be different creatures, only the one person.
Bogarts can be powerful depending upon what they turn into and if the person does not have the strength to laugh at it. SO, I think I'll use this as my answer for now. In the meantime, I'll try to think of something else that fits the answer in case this one is wrong.

You must look high and low but the higher you go, the possibility of you unfortunately running across me will grow. I did war and fight for the one who without a broom took flight.
You might even say, his biggest supporter among my kind is my smelly old way. It is believed I can be a danger to those who have in a girls loo did hide away. Oh no, not me, it was a lesser of my tribe that made his presence known that day.

Hmm? Not Hagrid, because he's definitely not hiding. He is loved by everyone though. I thought Tom Riddle, but he's not loved by anyone EW. I'm thinking it must be Lupin. Still, he's not really hiding WHO he is but WHAT he is. I'm still going to stick with this answer and think about anyone else who it might possibly be.

OoooooK. Let me guess, someone who says she's not what she really is but claims to be big boned. Hagrid's girl, the head mistress of Beaubatons (sp?) Madam Olympe Maxime. She sure did travel with her lovely students.
Really, I wished they would tell us more of her background... her family.
