Just after Easter, 1992 - their first year. While visiting Hagrid, the trio finds out that he has acquired a dragon egg. He won it in a game of cards at the Hoghead Inn, from a stranger who never showed his face...and it is quite illegal to own a dragon...

What I think is cool about this thread, we all know what happened but we never thought about what they were doing TODAY... or this week... or this time of year... Never date associated but as a whole story. We know it all happened but never think of when. It gives a whole new perspective on things to read it this way.

This one's from memory, since I don't have the books with me at the moment...
Easter, 1995' their 4th year. Mrs. Weasley sends chocolate treats to all the Weasley kids at Hogwarts, as well as to Harry and Hermione...but Hermione's is much smaller than the others because Mrs. Weasley reads Witch Weekly, which had the Rita Skeeter article in it, in which Hermione is accused of toying with both Harry and Viktor Krums's hearts.

This one's from memory, since I don't have the books with me at the moment... Easter, 1995' their 4th year. Harry had no idea what to choose, and wound up choosing the same ones as Ron, so that he would at least have a friend in them. As we later learn, Hermione signed up for more than anyone could possibly handle...without the help of a time-turner...

We had a barbecue cookout here at my house a couple of days ago. My brother in law and sister in law were invited. At that time I found out that my sister in law was in dire need of a time turner. She had 19 homework assignments she needed to work on. Turns out that she is taking four art classes all at the same time. Not to mention all of the rest of life's full duties she tends to. She's really spread herself thin. I told my hubby after they left that she sounds like she needs a time turner or to drop a class or two. Now today I come in here to see this post... perfect timing. April 1997 - their 6th year. Kreacher and Dobby, who have been tailing Malfoy, report back to Harry. kreacher's report consists of all the mundane things that mean nothing, but Dobby's information reveals that Draco has been spending quite a bit of time in the room of requirement. Harry begins to attempt to break into the ROR when Draco is there, but is unsuccessful.

Umbridge takes over as Headmistress, but Dumbledore's office closes it's doors to her. The whole situation prompts Fred and George to cause much mayhem with their fireworks that multiplied with any attempt to put them out. They also spelled out profanities, and words like "poo!"

Just FYI some of these are just guesses as to when they happened...they aren't always clearly delineated in the books. I know there are sites that have more exact dates for things, through figuring out information...but a lot of that is copyrighted, and I don't want to use those dates for that reason....so I may be off a bit here and there, but you still get the gist.

Events for COS, around the end of April
- Harry's trunk is rifled through, and he realizes that someone has stolen Tom Ridlles' diary.
- Quidditch match is canceled, as Harry and Ron learn that Hermione has been petrified,
- Ron and Harry visit Hagrid, and hide under the invisibility cloak when other visitors arrive. Hagrid is sent to Azkaban as a precaution, and Dumbledore is asked to step down as headmaster by Lucius Malfoy, and the governors (who were threatened by Malfoy, to sign). As Hagrid is leaving the hut, he says (to a hidden Harry and Ron) to "follow the spiders."

GOF - around end of April - krum asks to chat with Harry in private, and they do so at the edge of the Forbidden Forest. Surprisingly, Barty Crouch shows up, not at all lucid...but during the times he is, he tells Harry that he was stupid...that he needs to see Dumbledore. However, when Harry gets Dumbledore, Crouch is gone, and Krum had been stupefied. Moody searches the area, but sees no sign of Crouch.

Here are some things from the end of April(ish)...
1998 - what would be their 7th year - At Shell Cottage, Harry speaks to Griphook and Ollivander. Voldemort gets the Elder Wand, and Harry does not fight it, knowing that he is supposed to go after the horcruxes. Over the next several weeks, Harry, Ron and Hermione plan their break-in at Gringott's. Bill warns Harry about dealing with goblins and their beliefs on ownership of goblin-made treasure.
During this time, Lupin shows up at the cottage, and announces the birth of his son, Teddy Remus Lupin. He tells Harry that he is his Godfather.

1998 - beginning of May - Harry and Griphook, under the invisibility cloak, Hermione polyjuiced as Bellatrix and Ron disguised as a man in sympathy with the death eaters, manage to break into Gringott's and Bellatrix's vault. They find Hufflepuff's cup, but Griphook runs off with Gryffindor's sword, leaving the trio to fend for themselves, and without a way to destroy the cup horcrux. the trio do the only thing they can think of, which is to climb onto a dragon, and free it, escaping to freedom. They fly quite a distance before descending lower, and jumping off into water. They swim to shore, and take care of their wounds.
