The fashion.. of course in the muggle world, fashion clothing ideas change from year to year.. I wonder what the styles of wizarding clothes look like as time goes by? How they different from generation to generation.

I was thinking about Uncle Vernon today. Not one of my favorites by a long shot, but I did realize he had one good point. He abhorred every thing about the wizarding world so much-think how much he must have truly loved Petunia to marry and stay with someone with wizards in the family.

I've wondered that too before. But after Harry started going to Hogwarts he never took it out on Petunia even though he hated it, and then at the end when he is going to kick Harry out and Petunia gets the howler-he didn't argue with her when she said Harry should stay. Although I guess that howler might have scared him into it too!

My Harry Potter thought for today... I had two... now I can't remember the first. This one I touched on a minute ago on another thread. House elf cleaning. We know that they did the cleaning of the school during the night... so they were not even seen. Remember how Harry or Hermione noticed their clothes were clean and folded but they never saw who actually did it or how it was accomplished. I always saw they tended to the fires and all the duties they tended to when they were invisible... not only when the occupants were sleeping but even if they stirred at night, they still would not be caught standing there doing their jobs. I've always considered myself a type of muggle house elf.. but I never thought about it to this degree how much I like doing my house work in peace.  Oh this is sad.  |

I wonder if they used that disillusionment spell too? Otherswise, with the way the trio was always prowling around at night, you'd think at least once they would have caught them at it.
Housework-I do think you have a point there, I sometimes think I get the most done when I'm by myself.

My harry potter thought for the day.... Halloween will be here in a week...So this has me wondering about the scary things that we muggles do.. watch scary movies... dress up in costumes on Halloween night.. even just to sometimes jump out and yell BOO at someone.. Now these are not real horrors.. but created for fun. I wonder what kinds of things like this they would do in the Harry Potter world to amuse themself?  |

Leance... This is so goofy. I must have had seen some subliminal thing of some sort. I just posted on another thread not even a minute ago talking about you... Then I went to post on a different section only to see you had come in here today. I did a double take literally. ;D It's good to see you here.
As for that though the two of you have about the movies.. .. I sort of see the IF wizards go to any, they would have to have some sort of muggle friends or family members who would let them know something good is coming out soon. I know they would find it fascinating if they watch one. I mean.. think of Arthur getting so excited about batteries, plugs or a turnstyle.. A movie would blow is mind.
As for Halloween... yes I thought muggles too... I guess my memory goes back to that guy trying to pull of being seen as one at the World Cup.

Imagine him finding out about 3D movies. I can see him now, mouth wide open, staring through those funky glasses and blinking like crazy.  And Duddahs, maybe they can scan it with their wand instead..?  Though, it brings Lockheart to mind. Who was like "oh it's broken, let's fix that", without ever really checking Harry's arm. But he sets a remarkably poor example... |

Today is election day and we are voting for a new governor here in Maine. There are several hot topic referendums as well, one is whether to establish a dental school in the state as there is such a shortage of dentists-Hermione's parents would identify with that!
I got to thinking, I wonder if the wizarding world ever has to vote on things like that? Whether to make improvement s to the school, lower or raise the underage law, update the flu network and others? I wonder if they have election days for things like that or is it all handled by groups like the Wizengamot?

Someone once broke my son's arm.. it was nothing more than an accident.. but I'll tell you one thing, without a doubt, you know it was broken. Still... Fudge was elected to be minister of magic right? There must have been some way of the people in this part of the world to let it be known who they chose to be their leader. The people DID call for his resignation. Still, we never heard of any elections at any part during the book series did we? |

My Harry Potter thought for the day.. I wonder HOW Bill and Fleur found out about Shell Cottage...For that matter.. how do any wizarding families find their homes... I think of the rook shaped home for Lovegoods... then the crooked house of the Burrow. Then what about The Blacks home... How on earth did a family so rich in hating muggles decide to place their home in this particular spot... or how did they find it back those many centuries ago, if that was when they moved in?
