YEP.. NZ even though I don't think you are in Earl's path.. everyone from here would be welcome.. I think it would be fun.. a campout at my house... at least until Earl blows past. SO I wonder if this group of Quidditch players really do play? I've seen on the net all sort of ways muggles transformed the way they play it from the books to muggle style. I think it would be fun to attend one of these from a viewer's stand point. Yeah, Earl's not really in my path, it's closer to the Maritime Provinces. Actually I've heard of one way that people play Quidditch. The run/walk instead of using brooms, the Beaters use tennis rackets with tennis balls, the hoops are 6 feet or so off the ground. And I think for the Golden Snitch, one person is marked and the Seekers have to "touch" that person, as if he or she was the Snitch.

Just checking in with everyone. We lucked out during the storm, very little wind, and just a lot of rain which we badly needed anyway. Hoping everyone else did as well.

Finally got back to the computer... yay!
Guess I should give a few details about me... Mme Snape, aka, Madame (french, with an 'e' at the end...and a really cool accent) ...Yolande for the few that have known me for the longest time on the Harry potter board. Used to run a café over there... just so people could chat over a nice mug of coffee, a Butterbeer... or whatever your poison.
Mom of two lovely young ladies (15 and 18)... a cardiac ER nurse, who gets to play the 'big cheese' with the youngins that are starting in the biz. And of course... an HP nerd!

Well.. we are glad to have you here Madame Snape. I do think it's funny.. Some people I've known for ages from talking too much over at the WB.. but I find it's strange.. although I KNOW you and I have spoken.. I can't remember exactly when or where because I've been there for so long. Just like with Fawkes.. I don't know when we met... he just showed up then is gone then pops on over the book series boards again... then is quiet again. I know I never went to the MTC boards... but it seems over the past couple of years folks from that section migrated over to where I could actually meet them. I know I frequented the games on the Sorting Hat... That is where I wonder if I might have spoken to you and JB for the first times since I'm not sure about you guys being regulars over at the Book series section. Then I never went over to the General section until just over a year ago... still... not but to one thread.. never to hang out. Fangsfan, Rallem and Erin.. Yep I know when and where I met you guys. NZ you are another who seemed to always have been around the book series boards.. but I don't recall when you crept up on me. LOL! Oh I just feel so embarrassed. grandpalovegood

For me, that would be over 3 years ago. It says my registration date over on WB is August '07...but I know I was on there earlier...then something happened...I don't rememeber what...and we had to re-register....so it was probably spring of '07 that I first started posting over there.

Mal has recently posted that she is fine, and that the storm had mostly blown over, except her brothers refrigerator literally floated away. Thankfully she was not harmed. She is such a kind and nice person.

Hello everyone, the weekend is almost upon us. I got an invitation on Facebook for a moment of silence at 830 AM tomorrow which I thought was nice. Can't believe it will be September 11th already.

Yeah... Thanks for telling us this. I think Erin was telling us something last year about some things... people she knew. 8:30 huh? I'll make sure I do too.
So is everyone else getting ready for Halloween? My hubby was telling me that he wants to put graves out in our front yard this year. Last year was the first time since we've been married that we actually had kids knock on our door. But funny thing... He was telling me the ideas of the names he might put on the headstones.... Im sitting here typing and he said... Dumbledore, Sirius Black... Aragog.. Then it clicked what he was saying.. He laughed and said he'll have to put up a BIG one for Aragog.

Come to think about it.... I think it was the attack on 911 I heard about it from some guy sitting in his red pick up truck stopped at the stop light right next to my car. He just started talking to me through our open window and asked me if I heard what happened. I said no so he told me then said check out the radio stations. It's all over the news.

i was at work and a co worker told me that a plane had slammed into the WTC and i told her that was not funny...and she told me she wasn't joking...then a few minutes later, she came out and said another plane had slammed into the other building. i was like what in the world is going on? i was very upset!! i am not american, but it doesn't matter, my heart broke, just the same!!
one of the managers had put on the tv in the board room and i happened to walk by, so i saw a glimpse of it and i was devastated!! when i got home that evening, i turned on the tv to see all what actually happened...and the sights were utterly horrifying!!!
9/11 and the victims and family will be in my thoughts and in my heart!!
