I want to thank all three of you for being so kind. Everyone did a wonderful job and I think it is getting more and more difficult to pick a winner.
With that said and honestly felt, here we go with this weeks prompt.
The sound of something being dragged across the stone floor could no longer be ignored.
BOREDOM CASUALTY MEDITATE KLEENEX SERENDIPITY
I figure we are doing well with the Wednesday to Thursday deadlines, so let us keep on that schedule ok?

The sound of something being dragged across the stone floor could no longer be ignored. Severus placed his copy of The Prince by Niccolò Machiavelli on the desk of his study, wiped the tears from his eyes with a KLEENEX, and went to the dungeon of his home to see what Wormtail was up to.
Having the right to deny people like Wormtail from staying in his home was a CASUALTY of being a double agent in this coming war of Good versus Evil. This was just one of the many things Severus Snape had to deal with which aggravated him, and he knew there would be many dark things he will have to do in the future. Severus often felt trapped by his situation. The Hogwarts Professor got to the cell which Peter Pettigrew used as his temporary bedroom, and he spied his guest moving heavy furniture around manually. “Wormtail, what are you doing?”
Pettigrew stopped his actions and looked to Snape. “Ahh Severus, I am rearranging the furniture.”
Severus studied the furniture in his cell for a moment before asking, “Why?”
“Two reasons really Severus,” spoke Peter who paused to look around. “The first is to find a book you lent me, so I could return it and maybe get another. The second is to alleviate the BOREDOM of having to stay in this dungeon alone.”
Severus looked around again, “You lost my book?”
Wormtail shrugged his shoulders before replying, “Not really, I know it’s in here.” The former Marauder started moving a comfortable chair to the other side of the cell when he noticed something shiny on the ground. Peter picked up a gold coin with a picture of Queen Anne, and looked at it for a moment before turning his gaze to Severus, “You know how it is, you look for something you need and you find something else you need, but forgot.”
“It’s called SERENDIPITY,” responded Snape before continuing, “Now find that book, and bring it to me.”
“Severus!” pleaded Peter, “Please you have to do something to help me with this boredom. I’ve read every book you’ve got which hasn’t been expressly forbidden.”
Severus thought things over a moment and asked, “Have you tried to MEDITATE? It works wonders for me.” With that Severus left to read The Prince.

I'm sorry guys...this week has been busier than most, even though I'm "off" this week! I haven't even had a chance to think of what my story will be about. Duddahs, what we do from here is up to you, since your the judge this week. I really am sorry! Erin Let me just say that it does not matter to me if a few of you might need a little more time to get things worked out in your muggle lives in order to find that muse to jot down your thoughts for this one. Let's just say we give it through the weekend and if anyone wants to publish a story by Monday, then that is fine with me... I know Rallem posted his wonderful story very quickly, and I apologize for the wait, but I know what it is like just not to be able to get things done when you wish to... I am also having one of those weeks and most likely will be posting lightly until the cloud seems to move on to someone else's house. Duddahs the Great Barn Owl

That would be perfect for me too. On friday, I have my clinicals and state testing to actually pass my CNA exams for certification. SO... since I work most nights, my mind was not so geared to remember all of the tech stuff that I need to. I"ve traded my normal Tuesday and Wednesday nights off for Wednesday and Thursday nights this week. I need to be fully awake and allert for my all day Friday testing. Until then, I'll crash with ALL of my notes from two weeks worth of classtime... hoping that I will remember everything and not fail. I"ll be on here less with good HP thoughts.. maybe peek in every now and then to see how things are going... but not really with Pottering thoughts more suited for this site. Thanks for the extended deadline.

The sound of something being dragged across the stone floor could no longer be ignored. She turned her head in the direction of the sound. Looking down from her position above, the room is dark for the house elves have already extinguished the candles within the downstairs rooms.
She sits quietly, listening intently. There it goes again. The sound of someone moving over to one corner of the library. Somewhere near the French doors leading outside.
Saying not a word, she reaches down to smooth out the ruffles of her white satin dress as she always does when she's concentrating on something. A loud bang, then more silence. She could no longer hold back, for her curiosity has gotten the best of her.
"Who is there?" Still, there is silence. She lets out a quick sigh as if she was filled with BOREDOM, even though she was not. It was her way, to not allow anyone to get the best of her. Clearly, someone was sneaking around in her room. The dragging sound commences once more, small scoots at a time. That is it. She addresses the occupant once again.
"Speak up! Who is there? I'm sure the master of this house will want to know who has entered his home without his knowledge."
Suddenly, with a strike of a match, a candle is lit. From her position, she still can not make out who it is.
"Draco? Is that you?" Finally deciding this person is not going to cooperate, she stands. The sounds of the silk dress rustles as she enters portrait after portrait.
"Excuse me. Pardon me." The occupants of each portrait gave a short nod as she passed through.
"It is you?" She said with a smirk, an aire of superiority. Looking down her nose at the sight.
"Dobby, what is it that you have in the sack?" she demanded to know.
Dobby shook his head and said not a word. He held up a tiny KLEENEX like handkerchief, all soiled and dirty. Obviously, there had been a CASUALTY within the helps quarters. Rose Malfoy shook her head too.
"Go on then. Do as you must." She turned her back then returned to her rightful place high upon the wall above the fireplace. She closes her eyes to MEDITATE in hopes to wipe the thought from her mind.
Suddenly, Lucius enters through the large mahogany doors. His expression is not a happy one. He holds his head up high as if looking for something... or someone. His gaze moves upward.
"Hello Lucius. Is there some reason you are up this late at night?"
His face now wears a smirk.
"Looking for that elf. He's not responding to my calls. The help these days..." His lip curls. Suddenly, he spots the little shivering creature huddled over in the corner of the room.
"THERE YOU ARE! HOW DARE YOU IGNORE MY SUMMONS!" Lucius shouts. He moves quickly over to Dobby and picks him up by the dirty pillowcase he was wearing.
"Now dear, can't you see he's tending to something right now?" she said only to be drowned out by more shouting.
"NOT NOW GRANDMOTHER!" Then his eyes move downward to the rucksack Dobby had been hiding behind him.
"What is this?" He drops the elf. Dobby shouts as he hits the stone floor with a thud. Tears still streaming down his leathered face, he sobs loudly.
"NO. Leave her alone master Lucius!" He pleads with him on bended knees. Holding onto his masters robes as he continues to cry out in mourning. "This is Dobby's own mother!"
"What SERENDIPITY? One less useless elf in the world." He curls his lip then decides to leave the library, leaving Dobby to wail.

OK, I am going to be bad. Real bad I say. I am going to do what is in my heart about the two stories that were entered this week.
And the winner is;
and the winner is;
everyone that read these two stories... There can not be an actual looser this week. Both stories were GREAT. I am not chickening out, it is Duck vs. Rock Cornish Game Hens...
I love them both and I made Duck on Friday and I am making Game Hens on Monday so there is no looser, just me, Jenn and a few friends being the actual winners.
So, do you get what I am saying, this week, I dosh garn it see it as a tie.. Neither was better than the other as what one had with suspense the other made up with clarity in the telling.
So Both Rallem and Miss Charlotte are the ultimate winners this week.
OK, here is where I get things thrown at me... How about each of us takes a turn each week making the prompts, lets say next weeks would be Rallem then Miss Charlotte, then Erin, Myself and who every would also like to join in..
There would be no JUDGING who Wins or Looses, but we could possibly discuss the stories themselves pointing out what we truly loved about any particular story, or what we thought could possibly have been better to make another story all that much more enjoyable to read.
How bout that? Is this something we could put to a vote? Just my humble thoughts and I would not be offended in the least if others just wanted to keep it working this way or not... I just thought that those who might be afraid to be judged or maybe a little judge shy might just be more inclined to join in and get their feet wet so to say in the writing world if they were assured they would not be judged but enjoyed instead..
So, what say you all?

;D Ok Duddah. I like the idea myself...
But for the record... my problem is not in being judged as much as ME having to judge my friends. I've been against that ALL of my life.
See, I have a mom who liked to nitpick every little thing she could to put down every friend I ever brought home. It was to the point that I decided not to bring any friends home anymore. Maybe she was jealous of the attention I gave them? Who knows? I looked at my friends and knew they were not perfect.. neither am I... then I saw my friends and loved them dearly for the good that I saw in them. I'm not one who likes to judge others even in something like this.
Now, I know my own faults in writing. I'm ok with myself, I know my strengths as well. Still, even some of my closest friends as well as some aquaintences have told me more than a few times that I would do good to take an English grammar refresher course. I know I know! LOL! Hopefully someday I will have that opportunity. Then I believe I would write so much that no one would ever have the time to read it. And you guys KNOW how long winded I can get. ;D
SO..... My vote would be to take turns... Still, this is not my thread. Rallem I hope you don't mind.

I like either format.... But either way, I'd love to get comments specifically on my writing, like when Duddahs pointed out how I had a character address someone totally different than they did in the books...knowing specifics helps you write better. I used that comment in writing my next piece, to do my best to have that character speak the way he did in the books....might not have thought of that without that specific comment, know what I mean?
I just enjoy the writing! Erin

OK... If we are making comments on how we write or others write.. There is one thing that has been a challenge. I figured you guys have been doing this on purpose so I played along. It's the fact we are writing about the magical world of Harry Potter... then when asked to write something some of the words are NOT in that rehlm, but in the muggle world. I guessed things like a "tractor" and a "kleenex" being muggle, we were supposed to make a reference to the muggle world since they don't exhist in Harry's world. You guys really know how to make us stretch our minds and think of a way out of that. ;D

Miss Charlotte, I too see your particular point. There were several completely Muggle words that had to be worked in that I was not sure how to do it at first.
BUT, why does Kleenex have to be a Muggle word? It is actually a brand and who is to say that the Keenex is not made by a Witch or Wizarding factory? They do work like magic you know!

Miss Charlotte, I too see your particular point. There were several completely Muggle words that had to be worked in that I was not sure how to do it at first. And I see this as the challenge I believe it was meant to be. I'll have to think of something good to challenge you guys with the next time I get a turn. Hmmm ;D But you can say that about EVERY single muggle item there is.. It could have been invented by a wizard pretending to be a muggle. I guess when I looked at the movies and took a good look at HOW they painted the scenery then also took a look at how JKR made her world.... I see that most of this magical world is nearly... well, more closely resembles to ME... back to the days before factories... before assembly lines.... before electricty. Can you imagine a kleenex being made by hand... one at a time? Then so just in MY opinion (by no means am I saying that I am right, this is just in my own head.) I take anything with a name brand on it and exclude it from JKR's world for Harry. Not unless he's at the Dursley's or some muggle establishment. So for in place of a kleenex... I see them using a handkerchief... like in the olden days. Now I will duck for flying objects coming my way. OH and Rallem... we have not overruled your decision about how to run your thread... it was just a vote to see how we each feel... This is YOUR thread so we will abide by how you want to run it. As you already know, most of us here post here and really love it thusfar. Thanks for setting it up.
