Has anyone seen the owl movie you guys were talking, about yet? It looks beautiful from the commercials. I love watching new movies but I also love the old movies. One of my favorites, The Lady Eve with Henry Fonda and Barbara Stanwick was on this week. I ended up staying up til 2 AM to watch it, had to see it til the end once I started.

I wish I could say I got to see it.. but I won't get to for a while. Still... what an inspiring thought Fangsfan.*poke poke* why not go start one? A true "oldies' thread.. and this time we mean it for movie not old people. I love to watch old movies too.. and I find rewatching some I had seen as a kid that I totally forgot about... you know rediscovering them, lots of fun. You know what I'd love to see right now? What's that movie with Jimmy Stewart where he sees the invisible rabbit... Harvey? Was that it? ;D I"m about to go curl up on the couch here in a few minutes I wonder what I might find on?

Legend of the Guardian's looks really cool....but I want to read the books first. I really like to get that picture in my head the way I see it first.

OH there is one that I can't wait to see... The Hobbit. I just read where they already began shooting the film earlier this month. They are going to make it a two parter.. Yeah.. who didn't see that one comming? ;D The first one is due out December 2012 and the second one December 2013. From what I see the cast looks great. Looking at the actors I can see the Hobbit in them. Ian McKellen and Andy Serkis are both reprising their roles. YAY!!!

Hee Hee..I was in "The Hobbit" in Jr. high....I was Ori the dwarf in the high school drama club (our Jr. high and high school were right near each other...just a football field apart (litereally) so most high school clubs were open to jr. high students). I'll bet I looked nothing like the one that will be in the movie....at least I HOPE so! LOL

Recently, I watched The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo and its sequal.. Not too bad but very RAUNCHY and for those who do not appreciate gratuitous foul language and too much nudity, PASS on these.
I also saw two movies about the Ozark types of late. I have to remember the names of these because both of them were EXCELLENT small movies.

I also saw two movies about the Ozark types of late. I have to remember the names of these because both of them were EXCELLENT small movies. Thanks for the heads up... I wondered about that movie.. The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo.... Really, I think bad language is more of a turn off for me than anything. As for nudity, if it's brief, or if it's done in good taste... that does not bother me. Take that back... I think Gender has a role in this as well for me. I guess it bothers me more if it's a guy up on screen in the buff. I saw a movie with Alan Rickman... well it was not a hiney shot either... I guess because I was caught off guard, that this sort of freaked me out for a while there. ;D

Nope, it was not done in any kind of good taste. Actually the nudity was done is such poor taste and the sexual situations are so disturbing that I would say, PASS on BY... Both this movie and its sequal which was even less plausible than the Girl with the Dragon Tatoo.
BAD!

I loved the Hobbit book and also can't wait for that movie. Has anyone seen the Guardians of Ga'Hoole movie about the owls yet? I wondered because I've started reading the books and really like them, wondered how the movie was.

Most recent GREAT MOVIE from Red Box... Winters Bone.. Must see. Very disturbing, but a magnificent movie.. Also rented Nightmare on Elms Street 2010 which was GREAT! I was actually very pleasantly surprised at how good it was, when I went into it with little to no thoughts that it would be anything other than a waste of time.
I will be back soon as I have recently watched a few other very good small movies too.

;D Yeah! OK I came here to post this just now... See the other day I watched a movie called Werewolf that Duddah mentioned. Though it was pretty good and scarey. A little on the gore side but had a traditional storyline. That made me wonder what it would be like if they took the closest thing to the original storylines to many of the every day fairy tales and made a serious movie out of those.. I wondered what it would be like. Then I come online just now to find that Gary Oldman is playing in a new movie called Red Riding Hood. Here is the clip. blog.movies.yahoo.com/blog/161-leonardo-dicaprio-gives-red-riding-hood-the-twilight-treatment

OK... for those of you who love the fun magical fantasy films.. I happened to enjoy The Scorercer's Apprentence. I even think they cast the parts just right. The young man does in a way resemble Mickey Mouse in Fantasia. I wondered if we would ever get to see the old tall, blue hat with the moon and stars on it just like in the cartoons.. Then there it was after the credits was over at the end.
I also enjoyed the stupid obnoxious movie called Grown Ups. Yeah... As long as they don't go too far I can crack up laughing.

On my yahoo page, they had a much better quality trailer than this one, but I could not figure out how to imbed it into a post for here.
Oh I can't wait! I love the old superheroes that we grew up watching or reading about in comics... Now we get to see them up on the big screen. Yay!
