They're showing The Christmas Story episode tonight. The only Christmas episode they ever had, I was hoping I'd get a chance to see it this season.

I think I watched it Fangsfan. LOL! So sad. Hubby was telling me that he thought he heard that Don Knots passed away last Monday. We looked it up only to find out that was years ago. We are just now mourning.

60 years of Andy and Barney. Can you believe it? Here since Covid began I've watched the series at least twice over and now they are doing it pretty much non stop all week this week. LOL. Well, hey, at least it's good clean fun.
I read a couple of articles recently about behind the scenes. They said that Andy was a prankster behind the camera. Don was usually quiet. A lot of my favorite parts of the show was when Andy would pick on Barney while he was on the phone or especially when he switched hats with him while he caught Barney sleeping in the back room. Then he went back and pretended to come into the office again more loudly. Barney woke up and put on Andy's hat that was too big. Andy just stood there and laughed at him. Oh and the mayor finding Opey's fish in desk drawer.
My biggest shock... I always wished that Ellie would have made more episodes. I had no idea that she asked to be let out of her contract. She only stayed one season. Andy was a married man and really didn't want to have a serious girlfriend/wife for the show, so he was a bit shy with Ellie. Ellie took it to mean that their two characters didn't have chemistry. So, they let her out of her contract for season two. Helen wasn't supposed to stay but for one episode. People kept asking for her to come back he felt comfy enough.
I learned a lot about Don/Barney too. But I'm just running on too much already. Maybe later.
