I am losing track of what's happening in the world because of this show. They have been having it every day from noon til 1 PM-so I watch AG instead of the noon news-I don't get the evening news because I'm at work. Guess I will have to get the news from my daily paper. We had three baby birds on my neighbors lawn today and another neighbor took them to a wildlife place. It reminded me of Winken, Blinken and Nod from the "Opie the Birdman" episode.

I know what you mean. How missing the tv news really can make you miss what is happening in the world. I used to say that I don't really want to hear the news because of all of the bad stuff going on there during mealtimes. There is always bad news to be heard more often than there is good news. BUT since I have Yahoo news, I get to click on the headline that I like to hear the most. Each one has a picture that will catch my eye. and not just the headline by it's self. I know in past years how embarrassed I was to find out about an air play crash that I thought was new, happened a few months ago. I found it's better to try harder for me.
But like you said, sometimes it's more uplifting to watch a show like this instead.
Remember those birds I posted about a while back? Well, when all five of them left the nest we thought they are all gone. No one came back to see the nest. Two days ago, I went to get into my car to go some place. As I was walking out to my car, I had noticed one bird looked like it was about to fly into my open window, I thought it strange, Then as I was sitting down, I noticed three other birds about the same kind were flying around my new marigolds that I have yet to put into my window box outside of my bedroom window. Then I noticed, these were those Finches that hatched. They had not gone anywhere.
Now hubby is sad that he cleaned out their next from the light fixture, Since then he reinstated the electricity and put up the last glass windowpane of the light fixture. He said he has a wooden birdhouse that he has yet to put up. Maybe it will be a good idea to place it on the tree in the front yard.
I hope your neighbor's baby birds do alright.

I nearly forgotten that you posted Andy Griffith came on during the middle of the day. Well, I thought of you the other day, when I walked into my son's room and caught him watching it. He LOVES to hear it come on. I also think her recognizes some of the voices, because he was smiling before he knew I was there.

hey i know this is late i should be in bed-- but what channel was the AG show having their marathon on?
I loved that show, but I didn't watch all of the episodes. But I loved Opie, Aunt Bea, and don Knotts as Barney. Oh, he was a riot, and he was often a guest on Carol's show and Lucy's show too. (The one after I love Lucy)
My favorite scene for the whole AG show has to be the opening, where Andy and Opie (little Ronny Howard) went whistling down the lane carrying their fishing poles. How did Andy get that whistling tune right is beyond me, it was amazing.

For me it comes on during the weekdays at about lunchtime... 11am for half an hour. I live in central time zone.

For me it comes on from noon to 1 PM now-2 episodes on the TV Land channel. If you're an I Love Lucy fan, I think there's an hour of that from 11 to noon, at least where I live. I love that theme music too!

Yep... it's like a part of my childhood is saddened. Well, maybe to think of all of those times he picked on Barney and gave us a good laugh. He really was a good one for that.

Yay... Funny. Just this morning I was watching Opie's daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard, in a film. So far, I've liked everything I've seen her in.
Hmm? Besides American Grafitti, I can't recall any other FILMS that Ron Howard has played in. I remember this show and Happy Days, but nothing else really. Oh and I"m sure we all have seen the films he's directed/produced. There are tons of those.
I guess, to me, besides Barney and Andy, Opie rounds out the three people I like most in the show, who was on it on a regular basis.

I was just watching this old movie, "No Time For Sargent's" with Andy Griffith. Love that old movie. It still cracks me up. Anyway, after it was over, the announcer guy said that Andy Griffith had already made his mark in Hollywood before he made this film. Then he said that Andy did a spot on the Danny Thomas Show as a small time sheriff. I had no idea that the Andy Griffith show was a spin off from that show. Cool. I love learning something new every day.

I just thought of kind of an AG deja vu. My dog Andy is at least in part, named after Andy from the show. The name of the lady breeder I got him from is Helen. And Andy in the show married Helen Crump! I had never realized that before.

OH my.... I never thought about it until today. My son, we call him AJ. A stands for Andrew. We don't call him Andy though.
Then today, we were watching several of the episodes. One was when this guy who lived out in the boonies... a farmer, was not very sociable. Barney thought he was shady so he put together a posse. The guy ended up calling Andy in for help. There was a huge storm and his wife was having a baby. Andy delivered the baby. Turned out the farmer named his new son Andy.

I remember you telling my about your Andrew Miss Charlotte-way back when I first knew you! I had an Andy in my family too-my Uncle Andy, who my dog Andy is partly named after. I guess it has always been a popular name

Watching AG this AM and they are having a class on American history-not for kids but for the adults in the town-Andy, Helen, Goober, Floyd and Howard were there. I wish our little town would do that to-I think it could be really interesting with a great teacher.
