i51.TP .com/jh905w.jpg[/img] I bought two sets of this.. One I kept unopened.. but the other not only did my daughter and I play a lot when she was little.. but I also used some of these as bookmarks to keep places marked in the earlier books.. clues I wanted to talk about back in the early days online. Yep.. when the mystery was just unfolding for me.... Goes to show.. Daughter and I didn't play this game for long.

I credit this to Erin... for finding this online. And would like to add that I am enjoying the recipies. As well as finding out what in the world a lot of the things mentioned in the Harry Potter books really are talking about. ;D i52.TP .com/2lc65c5.jpg[/img]

Now here is a scarey one for Halloween. ;D Can you just picture it now... some kid talking to their mom. "Oh Mum! I just got to have this Voldey Doll! Please Mum Please?" i56.TP .com/29ld16t.jpg[/img] Just to let you know.. This is not a photoshop image. Remember in the last movie they put him standing at Kings Cross (or the subway station) with Harry? There he was wearing a suit.

Ooo...
I went to the mall the other day to take my kids for an outting. Then when I went into this one store called Hot Topic.. I was just wandering around waiting for my daughter to choose things she wants for her Halloween costume. (She wants to go as Abby from NCSI.) Well, I was very happy to turn around and find a whole Harry Potter section of collectibles. Yep the wands, Horcrux necklaces, outfits, tee shirts, keychains, pins, ink pens that resemble voldemort's and Harry's wand. Then I also found a calendar. Even Silly Bands. I told Daughter that Silly bands are spinoffs of things we used to wear when i was in my mid to late teens.. Jelly bracelets. I told her I used to wear them all the way up my to my elbow. At least ours lasted longer than these silly ones they are wearing these days. I still have mine in a trunk somewhere.
In another store I found a Harry Potter calendar... This one is NOT the one that we have been taking peeks at over at the Leaky.

I went to Barnes and Noble yesterday. Of course every time I go in there I can't help but go check out the Harry Potter section just to see what new stuff they might have there. Well, on the way back to that section I heard a comotion over at a table.. A group of girls.... maybe in their teens or just out.. Well, I went to see what was going on only to find they were surounding a Potter table. Yep, one girl was having a fit over the new Harry Potter pop up book saying she must have it... Then one of her friends was repeating over and over about about herself how she is such a geek for being there... but while her friend was looking at the HP pop up book, her own eyes were bugged out looking... admiring Harry's wand in a box. She didn't want to tear up the package but was still trying to open it to hold his wand. There were two other girls standing there with them.. One was happily surprised to see the Cookbook we have spoken about here.
Then... on that note, I walked away to look at the regular section where the potter books normally are found. Well, thinking the girls would have moved on by then, I went to get a better look at that table... nope.. the girls were still having their happy fit. LOL.. Not to mention a short few paces away from that group of girls was a group of boys of the same age with their mouths dropped at the reaction those girls were having over all of this Potter stuff. Later they went over to join them.
As for me, I walked away.. ok purchased one of the new DH bookmarks. I could not make up my mind over the three to choose from at the table. I chose the Deatheater one.

Now that is a collection. Really, I have only seen just a few of those instores. Normally they sell out before I get to see them in person. Thanks for sharing. As for the Wizard of Oz ornaments... I don't see why not... Say from here on out for this holiday season, why not share whatever we have collected. Things cherished. I came close to purchasing the Star Trek ornaments from Hallmark... but decided I have already overdone that scene that I had to draw a line somewhere... Still, I had to see them in the flesh at the store. Uh oh... my show is on... I just love American Pickers. See ya later.

Glad you guys liked them.. I enjoyed putting them on the tree too! Oh and a few of them are semi Mechanical too. The one with Harry at the Gargoyle has a lever when slid to the side, the Gargoyle moves and Harry goes inside and McGonnagalls voice says,,,, Sherbet Lemon..... The one with the Potions Master sits on top of a light so I put it on a blinking Red Light so the flames under the pot appear to be moving. Also the Potions class has a little button when pushed, the cauldrons light up and another light lights up for about a minute and then fades away. The Quidditch one where there are Harry and the Slytherin racing to catch the snitch, it winds up and the figures which are suspended by fishing line threads move back and forth and up and down as if they were racing.

A story that happened just the other day...
How a collectible can help HP fans find each other.
While I was at work the other night, it was early in the night. The evening shift overlaps about an hour over ours. Well, while I was cleaning up my departments before stocking, I noticed two girls on the evening shift standing there talking... They were peeking around a corner and pointing down one of the main isles and saying, "Gryffindor! I know that is what it says, Gryffindor." I kept on walking doing what I'm there to do, but then ended up walking down in the direction they were pointing to. Turns out there was a customer wearing a nice, zip up Jacket in Gryffindor colors. Sure enough, the word was spelled up one of her sleeves. NOw I have to find them to ask them if they are fans or else this is going to bug me. ;D
