Well, is it just me? I don't think so, but I tried to get on the boards because well, you know...I like the boards and I've been on them for years...and then it redirects to that Facebook page.

WHERE IS MY CURSING SMILEY!??!! 

I am mostly ticked because they kept it up so long and then just wham, it's gone. And I knew it was coming so why am I so upset? WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME? I'll tell you what's wrong. We were lured into a false sense of security, that's what and they pulled the plug just when we were getting comfortable with the idea that it'd still be there...for the new movie and whatnot (I've been lurking!! HAS MY LURKING MEANT NOTHING AT ALL?!)

Sorry. I just needed to rant somewhere about this. Somewhere where people would actually CARE! 

*sighs* Everything. All in one day. Gone. 

I think I'm in mourning now. For real. I just didn't think it would come despite the warning with the announcement of the new movie release and whatnot. *sighs again* You know what would've been really cool? If they had kept an archive of the entire thing and the autopruner hadn't been so zealous and if threads had just... stayed. Now that would've been cool; then I would've been able to answer what the first thing I posted was! (Which I still have no idea. xD) I would've been able to look at how little I've changed! xD It seems as though I'm a very nostalgic person and even with the boards as they were, I'm still going to miss them terribly. *sighs some more*

And yes, I realize I haven't introduced myself, but I was a regular on the Harry Potter boards from January of 2007 until September of 2013 when they randomly decided to pull the plug fifty one days after their scheduled termination date. (LOL, I'll just introduce myself everywhere like that from now on; like I'll put that in my signature or something! xD Lol, I'm getting off track...) Among my thirty-eight registered usernames, my most used (well, recently) were timelessness_., fairytalesrreal, and patronus.potter. So...I'll bet I'm still familiar. I'm Skrewtkeeper! This was the first name I ever had on the boards!...*sighs* Boards, I am going to reiterate my earlier conclusion; you are indeed the worst of boyfriends. xD

I felt the same way this morning. Not a great start to my day. Maybe I should just go back to bed b/c it's probably only going to get worse from here.

The exalt is like giving positive points to someone and smite is taking them away. I know I accidentally did this my first time here. I threw an exalt your way to get you out of the negative.

And it's true...I'm usually really positive in the morning, and this would've taken it all away, but I found out before I went to bed. Granted, it wasn't really night then, but... xD

I'm still in a state of shock I think. I keep typing the boards' address in and it continues to redirect. I even tried stopping the page from loading and then starting it up again; it doesn't work. They're really gone this time.

You crack me up Skrewt! glad someone's using it after all.

First, we have what is called a sidebar over to the left of the site. But when I put it up there I was not aware that those using smart phones or tablets can't see them... so Woop dee doo to me. LOL. Laptops and regular old PC's you can access it... Well, in that section I put easily clickable tips. (I call it "tip of the day" but really it's tip for anyone who needs them for clicking to find out how to use these boards.)

However... from talking with another WB member, I have a lot more to update to help people navigate much easier.

I DID get started, before muggle life began to erupt like a volcano all over me. (This past month's been a bit of a nightmore for me... and from what I can tell I know I'm not alone. Life's hit everyone it seems.)

Honestly, I don't know how the gifts work. Proboards added this little extra in there when they did an overhaul of ALL of their sites a couple of months back.

You can actually make your own avatar using the controls in your profile.

go to Profile>edit profile

to find where to tinker around to set all of that.

Okay, I'll try to set a gif (well, as soon as I figure out how to make one. xD I've got the scene in mind; I just need to turn it into a gif) as my avatar/signature and see if it works. (Now all you've got to do is insert an image if you'd like to use one of these. The easiest way would be to right click on one of them, and click "Copy Image Url" and then when you go to post something, click "insert image" and then it brings up that link box? Erase the beginning "http://" bit and then just paste what you've copied. Really simple. Not as simple as using them on the boards, but still pretty straightforward.)

I've saved all of the smileys from over there ages ago. I just didn't install them to this site since we already have some that we use. Although, since we know there will be WB withdrawals, I see no problem adding a few of the more popular WB ones ... I'd say give me a week to get it done. (my hands are pretty full. Oh and I'm the tinker person for working on things like this here.) Now I don't know anyone who actually used them ALL over there anyway... so are there any requests of popular ones you might want.. No problem. I just don't see the need for too many in the smiley box. It's pretty full already.

I am really disgusted with them right now too. It would have been better if they had given a closing date and stuck with it-and jsut when people were starting to post new threads too and with the new movie to discuss. I'm going to try to repost some of my older limericks here from memory so they'll be kept somewhere.. Also my goal had been to get it up to 1000, I think we could have done it too if they hadn't done this.
I am so so glad you are all here and we can stay in touch, you are all very special people to me.

I saved 18 pages of at least .... I think I had my WB settings set for 25 posts per page. Not sure if it might have been 50.  I guess you can count to see. IF so, then each of these 18 pages have that many posts on each one.

The only ones you are missing are the more recent ones posted by others like Magikalmom and myself that we posted over there. Your internet was messing up when the WB gave the original notice and I thought you would not have a way to save them on your own. I grabbed them all to that date.

OH and I have it locked for posting in that sub board... so the only one people can post new limericks on is the thread you started here... just to help save from confusion.... and to separate WB stuff from Lounge stuff. I didn't know you didn't know.

Yeah, they pulled the rug out from under us this time. :/ Oh gah, I'm sorry about your limericks thread; you are really quite talented at writing those. Whenever I deliberately try to write one, my attempt sounds forced. xD

I guess I'm a little confused at your confusion. So, time for me to ask some questions.

Your number 2. Yes... that's a smiley alright. However I don't understand about the caplock part of the question? Oh and I think he was showing you that there is something similar to the cursing smiley from over at the wb... it's just this one's ranting and raving waving it's hands about while shouting. They are not identical, but they pretty much pull off the same meaning.

Still, as I was mentioning before... Just make a list of the actual WB smileys and I can add them to our smiley box. Maybe not ALL of them, but at least some of the favorites from there. If I add them to the smiley box here... then you won't need any code or have to deal with using the post image option except for those not added to the box. I just need a list to know what to put since I saved them all to my computer.

3. Hey... good to see you chose your avatar. I change mine often, so if you see something different, then it's still me.

4. I'm so confused. That looks like the "laugh out loud" smiley from the WB

6. Your fanfiction? If you are asking if you can post it.. Sure... We have a fanfiction section set up for everyone to use.
From the front page, scroll down to where the "writers corner" category is located... then click "fanfiction"  board. Just remember as long as it's kid friendly. We really would rather not have anything too suggestive in the mature way, if you know what I mean. I guess the perfect example is to look at the seven Potter books.
