yeah, it was a surprise when i went to post at hp.com the other day and got redirected to their Facebook page. not liking the idea of posting there, though. it's a security and privacy concern. anyway, it was mentioned that a new movie is coming out. what is it? i haven't heard anything yet, is it hp related? if so, i'm dying to see it! edit: nvm about the movie LOL!!! i see there's a thread for it and miss c, you had put a link in the ticker on the left hand side. question answered!!  that movie is going to be sooo cool!! wb should have left the site alone, but oh, well. |

Well, as much as I love smileys, Duddahs, I'm afraid I don't understand.  WAIT A SECOND. Maybe I do... Hold on!! #1. Well, hello to you too, Duddahs.  #2. Now this smiley, I'm confused about... Is it the pains I went through to gather the smileys that I did? Is it all of my capslock use? IS THIS ENTIRE MESSAGE EVEN TO ME AT ALL?! #3. Ooh, this is my question about gifs! (Right? Right? xD I have yet to make one small enough anyway...plus the playback is extremely slow. I might be okay with this avatar alone. ) #4. Hmm...I'm not sure about this one. OOOH! Is this my new cursing smiley?! #5. Lamenting over the loss of the boards, perhaps? #6. And this one is my second question about my fan-fiction. I am so good at this! (Actually not. I am making wild guesses. :3) You got most of that correct skrewtkeeper, just the shrugs were about, "well, whatcha gonna do now?" kind of a feeling. Have a Harry Pottering day! |

Good morning skrewtkeeper.  I guess I'm a little confused at your confusion. So, time for me to ask some questions. Your number 2. Yes... that's a smiley alright. However I don't understand about the caplock part of the question? Oh and I think he was showing you that there is something similar to the cursing smiley from over at the wb... it's just this one's ranting and raving waving it's hands about while shouting. They are not identical, but they pretty much pull off the same meaning. Still, as I was mentioning before... Just make a list of the actual WB smileys and I can add them to our smiley box. Maybe not ALL of them, but at least some of the favorites from there. If I add them to the smiley box here... then you won't need any code or have to deal with using the post image option except for those not added to the box.  I just need a list to know what to put since I saved them all to my computer. 3. Hey... good to see you chose your avatar.  I change mine often, so if you see something different, then it's still me. 4. I'm so confused. That looks like the "laugh out loud" smiley from the WB  6. Your fanfiction? If you are asking if you can post it.. Sure... We have a fanfiction section set up for everyone to use. From the front page, scroll down to where the "writers corner" category is located... then click "fanfiction" board. Just remember as long as it's kid friendly. We really would rather not have anything too suggestive in the mature way, if you know what I mean. I guess the perfect example is to look at the seven Potter books. Lol, I'm amused at your confusion, Grandpa! My message was mostly directed at Duddahs. Do you follow now? Since he only wrote in smiley code, I took it upon myself to decipher it. And...adding the smileys won't be necessary; I really don't mind entering them in this "complicated" way; all I have to do is have another tab open and then I right click on the smiley I want, and hit copy image url and then all I have to do is enter in the img code that this website uses; it's really no trouble at all for me, but maybe others want them too? *addresses the whole board* Does anyone else want these WB smileys readily available? (I couldn't find the trippy one for example...well, I found it, but it doesn't "play" like a gif--it's just stuck at a standstill. I think...gah. I have no idea which ones to choose. That's the cause of my hesitation. How many do you think you could put in the smiley box?) Lol, I MADE this avatar! I DREW IT. *is extremely proud of this fact* xD (And it took me FOREVER! Perfectionism is indeed my middle name. ) *nods* Indeed, I may change my avatar...but then again I may not. Like I said, I am extremely proud of it because I made it myself. I normally just use one that's already made and shrink it a bit and brighten it if I have to. Of course, I have shrunk big images before, but a 100x100 pixel avatar is a lot easier to shrink down to the Warner Brothers standard 60x60...but now I don't have to do that anymore. I could find a 100x100 avatar and use it without shrinking it first! ...Funny, this doesn't strike me as exciting as I used to think it would.  Indeed it is. ;D I just thought it was funny Duddahs handed me an alternative, hence the lol smiley. And okey dokey about the fan-fiction stuff. I'll reread it to be sure, but I think it's okay now that you put it that way. Thanks for the info! I'll start posting it pretty soon maybe. I am in dreadful need of sleep. ;__________; (Okay, I definitely want the lol and the supergrin smiley in that list. For real, JB. I just hate Facebook in general. {{Grandpa, the rolleyes smiley too. I wasn't able to get that one.--You know what? How about I PM you a list? }} Actually, I dislike social media in general. I think social media is behind the decline of most if not all message boards...I remember going on the boards A LOT around this time of year in 2007 when I first got on...and the feeling this time of year, it's just strongly connected with my memories of the boards. I know that sounds crazy, but when I first found out they were gone, I immediately started looking at alternatives...even the scary social media of which you speak. But not one place I've visited has given that sense of...community which I so desperately crave. (Both Twitter and Facebook feel very "distant" to me, for despite their shared primary purpose, I don't feel like I'm connecting with people at all when I'm using either). This will do for now of course, but I do really miss the insanity that was the boards. I fear there will never be another place like it...and that just makes me very sad. ♥ |

I think what I will do is since you are asking for smileys from the WB and you already are using the WB Nostalgic skin/theme, I'll have those smileys show for that skin... so it will match so to speak. OK... that is the: trippy, LOL, supergrin, and rolleyes... and if I remember you wanted the cursing one from there too. Gotcha! I'll get them to working soon. However, it might not work if you type in the words as you mentioned, using the brackets. Honestly, I know what you mean. I too did that a lot over at the wb... and caught myself typing in [hmmm] as well as [lol] then I end up rolling my own eyes seeing the code and not a smiley. I'll tinker to see if I can, but don't get your hopes up. You might be left to use clicking on those corresponding smileys from the smiley box instead. At least I can add them in there for easy access. And I do agree with you too... I miss the insanity that was the WB boards, from the old days though. And I also fear there will never be another place like it.. and it makes me sad too.  |

yeah, it's a sad time that the WB boards are gone. i joined up in late 03 or early 04, so that's a fairly long time!! i remember the heydays...it was almost impossible to keep up lol...you'd post and next thing you know, your post was on the 2nd (or more) pages down...and worse if you were on (gasp!!) dialup lol...which i was for a time, as it was cheaper. as far as facebook, i don't mind it, it's a way for me to stay in touch with my family in england and out of town here...not to mention friends. even those who live here lol, pm's are convenient. i just don't like posting in a group where you never know what can happen. open groups can be a security issue, especially with the amount of members there! i do go and lurk from time to time. |

Yes, I have lots of family and friends on Facebook that I like to keep in touch with too. I just feel like I have more fun here than anywhere else and have made great friends here, I tend to come here more than any other place.
