Actually that scene with Theon Greyjoy and his sister never happened in the book...that was the first thing I could see that was different. I read the first few chapters of book 2 on Amazon (they let you see the first pages of some books), and it was his Uncle who had become some kind of priest who brought him up to the castle. Unless it happens later in the book. I seriously can't wait for the book to be available!

I thumbed through one when I was at a bookstore last week. I thought.... Oooooo..... It's on my wish list. Something to read next. Well, right after I finish the three books I'm reading right now. LOL.
SO you said book one was called Game of Thrones or Fire and Ice?
just looked... Game of Thrones. Good. That was the one I thumbed through.

Backread a bit more of your posts.... Funny, Why do people think if you have not had some sort of scene like that in every five minute timespan, they felt the need to do something like that.
OH and good to hear about your call from the Library. I'm sure you will be letting us know how you liked it or not. I wonder if Fangsfan ever finished her reread of them yet?

;D No I guess I must have missed that. I really have only seen about two or three episodes of that show in my entire life. I'll have to google it. However, I wonder when it aired (I guess I'll find out soon.) because I've noticed there is a bit less of it in this second season than there were in the first. But it's still there none the less.

I did see the SNL and enjoyed it. I am currently rereading book 4, A Feast For Crows-over half way through. My favorite characters are Tyrion, Arya, Bran and Brienne. Also like: Sansa, Jon Snow, Sandor, Syrio Forel, Dolorous ED, Pod Payne, Barristan Selmy, Dany, Jaime, The Queen of Thorns(and probably others I have forgotten). Lots of great villains to despise also. I'm hoping that by then end, Arya will be reunited with her wolf Nymeria...

Yes, I like Brienne, too, and am looking forward to see what happens with her story. Jamie? I still can't find a reason to like him...maybe by the time I get into the 4th book... I also think the Renly might have made a good King...Oh well.

I'm still trying to remember just who's name is who's. ;D So far, I"m at season two, episode oh... is it ten next? I think so. I'll have to go look tomorrow to see what one I have not downloaded onto the DVR. Really, I"ll say the episode 8 and 9 (whichever the last two I watched) just blew me away. Yeah! I'm really liking Tyrion. He's got spunk. I know that BOOM dropped my jaw as I watched. Really, with this show, you can never predict ANYTHING! I like this. It keeps me guessing. I will say that I hope that the dragon girl retakes her kingdom. Still, not sure how she's going to do that with her babies being so small. Well, i'm headed off to bed. I just hope I don't go to sleep tonight seeing dead people walking as I try to fall asleep. ;D

OK... I thought I might have an episode or two left to watch of season two... So I just sat down to watch them. Turns out the two episodes I was talking about last night were the last two of the season. I hope my comments don't reveal too much as to have been a spoiler... But I will say they pretty much blew me away. I can't wait to see if I will be able to see season three when it starts. If not I think I'll have to have read all of the books before it airs anyway. ;D There was one guy that I could not remember his name that I just adore for some reason. Funny because he's Jon Snow's bud. I look at this series and to me I see the way it was filmed... the vastness of the storyline.. the whole epic-ness to it that reminds me an awful lot of Lord of the Rings and how it was filmed etc. THen I saw the name of Jon's friend and lo and behold it was Samwell. To me, for some reason, don't ask me why, remind me of Frodo's Samwise.

Yes, I caught that, too! I am pretty well into the second book, and there are some differences...still waiting to see if it comes back around to how they did it on TV.

I won't be able to watch season 2 til it comes on DVD-don't have HBO. I do have season one one DVD and have watched it all. For season two, I read all the recaps every week on EW.com. I thought from reading it , it looked like there were some differences but not huge. One thing that really bugs me though is when they change the characters names. Like didn't they change Theon's sister Asha's name? For some reason it drives me crazy. I forgot to say earlier, Filch as Walder Frey is inspired casting!

Did they change the name? I actually hadn't noticed. I'm still working on getting the names straight for season 2. Arya's story is a bit different, but I think it's leading back to the same thing.

I had no idea that they changed his sister's name. I know the youngest of the Stark girls changed hers once she cut her hair... but that was to keep her safe.
