Hey. I have kept a Harry Potter daily desk calendar for years. It's one of those where you tear off one page for each day. Well, this year they did something different. Instead of one image for each day, they would mix in there some quotes from the books, cast or even JKR herself, as well as any interesting tidbits from the films. We already have threads started for those conversations. Anyway,I had been thinking about creating a thread where we could post an "image" for each day. This sometimes can spark conversations on other threads once we see the image.. Not so much a topic of the day, but just a thought jogger. Still, I think it would be fun to have an image posted where even if all it does is make us smile while thinking of our love for this book series. This would be well worth it. (Just remember to give credit where credit is due... If it was someone's artwork.. please name the person or place where you found it. Of course if it's from any of the films, it's a given it's from WB.)

Here is one for starters... Don't you just love those maps? Not sure but I think this was by JKR's own hand. i51.TP .com/29dbfnk.jpg[/img]

I really like that picture Misscharlotte, but I find it odd that the railway station is so far away from the town and that the castle doesn't have the lake between it and the town. Thanks for sharing.

Really... I always imagined where the map shows "Hogwarts walls" is where I imagined Hogsmead to be. Everything else right where the map has it..... Maybe the station a little more closer to the town too. Remember they walked on a path to Hogsmead on those weekends. I saw the lake to be as large as they have it in the films... Something as large and as deep as Loch Ness.
I'm just digging images I have saved to my computer from years ago. I do actually think this was from JKR's own hand. I'll research it some more... Still, it does leave us wondering about each location.
Oh and when I first read your comment... I was looking at the "last 25 posts link" I was thinking you were commenting on the image I left for you on the Goofy things thread. Your comment just didn't fit that image. ;D

Just a thought here, but if nobody could fly over the hogwarts walls due to some enchantments then why wouldn't they just use the lake and swim to school to invade? Would Voldemort be scared of the octopus?
