OK... So I have mentioned how I love to play the computer games that are the hidden objects type. Well, a little over a month ago I bought one called Midnight Mysteries Salem Witch Trials. Well, they have one goof about this game... I've sat down two or three times now and found out that even if you play it and when it asks for you to type in your name so it could save what you had done before... or pick up where you left off the last time... Well... either I can't find the 'save' option or they didn't finish that detail before they shipped it off to be sold... Well, last night I stayed up to play the whole thing from beginning to end... it was about 2am when I finished... half awake... Then I get to this award room... where I see about 20 different things I could have achieved... well... maybe about 15... I earned about 6. There I thought I did pretty well until I saw that ... then I rememberd I could have had two more if I had not accidentally exited the room. Then the game would not let me go back. I really loved this game. It's very challenging. It's more about solving the murder mystery and less about the hidden objects. This really is how I expected my Poirot game from years ago to go. That was my first PC game like this.. It was Death on the Nile. TONS of things to do, search, find and a murder to solve. Just up my alley. I did purchase another PC game a couple of weeks before this last one..I"ve mentioned it before. Mystery Legends Sleepy Hollow. This one reminded me more of the Poirot game I just mentioned. Tons to find and a mystery to solve. But what I also like about these three games... they are based on the works of old authors we read about when we were in school or well, known books written long ago. My new one Salem Witch Trials.. Has Nathaniel Hawthornes ghost and you solve his mystery... There is a hint to Wizard of OZ.. but just a hint.. not that much. Dorothy is in it and her characters. Mostly it's the ghosts of everyone in the town this is taking place in. Prooving Sarah Goode's innocence. Sleepy Hollow... of course is one of Washington Irving's works. Perfect game to play this time of year.. (obviously I'm ready for summer to be OVER with... so ready for autumn and shorter days.) Then the jackolanterns and Halloween. I hope to soon buy the one about Poe soon that I saw at the store. That ought to be fun. I remember being 12 years old. Sitting in my dining room, on an early summer afternoon in Georgia (meaning smoldering hot outside) listening to a guy tell the story of the Tell-Tale Heart. Oh it litterally gave me goosebumps and I had to run outside where my mom was. ;D ............... Now I just found where I put another game I bought recently. I nearly forgot about it... My Indiana Jones Lego game for PC. I'm so addicted to my mouse that when I first installed this game I thought NOOOO. Being addicted to video games since I was a kid.. yep we had them all as soon as the new one came out.. But we always used the gun, joystick, or paddles to play the game. Then as an adult wearing out a slew of battery packs from daily use on my gameboy just to play tetris... UGH. I have damaged my muscles in my hand. Normal use of this hand is just fine.. but for the video game?... well... This is why I don't play games as much as I used to. This is why a lot of times people will see my huge typo of the second letter being capitalized when typing with my right hand. I'm too lazy to go back and correct it as often as I do this.. so I just leave it. So here I am now... this lego game... will need me to use each of my fingers... Hmm? I'll give it a try soon. Maybe I'm making too big of an issue over this and I can play it just fine once I don't think about it... just go for it! ;D *yawns* Why am I even up right now? OH yeah... daughter woke me up just before I came in here, just to show me something goofy she found online. Yep.. she's my daugher alright! ;D

Hey Erin... I guess I must have been doing an edit to go into more detail about what I started to post... Because I can't figure out how I just finished typing and you have your post after mine. SO which one were you talking about that you liked? LOL... I need to get in a nap before I have to go for the afternoon. My thinking is impaired at the moment... ;D

my favourites are turn based RPG's. ogre battle 64 for N64, legaia for playstation, 7th saga, secret of mana, breath of fire I and II and many others for the SNES
for PS2, it would be OoTP (although, that's action-RPG) no other faves for that platform, but i only have a few and some i haven't really played yet. i tried i think it's xenosaga, and it didn't do much for me lol
i also enjoy puzzle games like tetris and bejeweled...also mah jongg for the 3DO
i use to be into the platform games, like mario, but i grew bored of them.

mah jongg was one I used to be addicted to... VERY addicted to. Then when my old computer went down... the particular game I had used would not transfer over... uh.. out of date so my computer didn't recognize it's function. *cries* I think my favorite things about that particular version was the fact that once you finished a game... you had uncovered an image of your choosing. I learned how to place any picture I had saved onto my computer in the background. Sometimes I'd uncover a Harry Potter pic... sometimes a Lord of the Rings pic... But I'll have to say my favorite was a family picture from Disney World. I had my hubby and kids in front of the Cinderella's castle... Oh good memories... Another was of my daughter with spaghetti all over her face and a huge grin as she sat in her high chair. Oh she'd get mad at me years later to see I would do that with her pic. ;D but another feature this game had... weird Japanese music... I LOVED IT! I to this day can sing it in my head. ;D Then... if you finished a game and completely cleared the entire board of tiles... You won a fortune cookie... You could choose the type of fortune... Something goofy... or traditional.. or just words of wisdom. After you choose.. they would crack open the cookie and show you what was written on the paper inside. The last time I one I had a picture of Gollum in the background and the fortune said I will win the Lottery! I did a screen cap! ;D Boy do I miss that game.

LOL Miss C... I was talking about the hidden pictures one...but I think y ou answered my question!
I really think you would enjoy the MYST series. Lots of puzzles to solve, and things to figure out as you explore the world. VERY cool. It has a whole story line that continues form one game to the next....5 in all. There's Myst, Riven, Myst III - Exile, Myst IV - Revelation, Myst 5 - End of Ages. You would love them....they are truly addicting!

I agree with Erin, the Myst series of platform games is great.. I only hated that when I got the first game back in the mid 1990't that I had to write down the numbers in order to get back to the same level.. I had no idea at that time how to cut and paste or how to use word. Not that I have gotten much better.

miss c, if you have facebook, there is a mah jongg app on there!! i think it's a newer one added recently. i added it a couple of weeks ago. good fun!! add it, i think you'd enjoy it.
oo, erin, i also love the hidden pictures games!! i have the everest one for the PC, big fish games is the manufacturer, shame they didn't didn't release them on PS2 (get a license from sony to make them for that platform.) i prefer not to have games on my PC, as they do take up space! (i'm not lacking space, but i'd rather utilise my free space for other things.)

Hello Bea... You know... so many times I watch advertisements for something like this and think this is going to make a real good movie. Then I get ticked that it's a video game instead... meaning, nothing to go watch at the theater. But still, I think they come up with excellent ideas that could be made into movies. This one included. I know when I first watched Lora Croft, I kept thinking of how it looked familiar to me. I could not place it until someone told me it actually came from a video game first. DUH! Then there have been many movies where they DID make them into video games later... Harry Potter... Star Wars... Star Trek.... Indiana Jones... so on and so forth. Then there were many other action films I thought would make an excellent video game and was surprised nothing came out that way. I think it's so cool how things can jump lines like this and be experienced in more than just one way.

Duddahs came across a free online interactive game from the Warner Brothers Portkey Game series. It is based on a character of your interactive creation and his challenges and classes over his 7 years at Hogwarts. Now if you are impatient you can buy power but Duddahs is patient and has played through his characters 3rd year so far. It is challenging and Duddahs enjoys the near 3D graphics. You can get the free download at the itunes store. It is fun!

Duddahs is becoming a bit frustrated with the WB’s Hogwarts Mysteries online computer game. They should have had the entire seris built andin place prior to getting many of us hooked. The cost of power is also exorbitant of late. Love the graffics but Duddahs is not sure how many others will simply walk away instead of waiting to simply complete a single year. Grr. Yes Owls can indeed growl,

I'm still just partway into the 4th year. I don't play it every day, and I typically play for a few minutes when I first get home from work, and then again at bedtime, which allows me to use full energy each time I play. I've never paid anything for it, and because I don't have stretches of time to play, the energy isn't an issue for me.

Duddahs sees how this game will work extremely well for you Erin. This ole bird has just had another surgery and would have loved the psychological diversion from his day to day recovery issues. The game itself is enjoyable, especially if you take the time to slow down and really read all of the responses by the characters. What Duddahs referred to as pricey is that Duddahs chose to buy several pets and creatures available. Yes, they do each bring in extra power but the options to purchase books to attain their games are a bit pricey considering the game goes into slow down mode mid fifth semester. Still, an excellent game and Duddahs has reviewed another magnificent game to be released mid 2019 with outstanding graffics ans computer animation!

Yes, definitely not a game to pass the time with! I'm still searching for the arrowhead in year 4. I find that every time I reach 50,000 coins, it's best to buy a few things, if you want, because it won't store any more...but those books are hard to come by...especially with the slow accumulating energy. I just don't have time to duel multiple times a day to get the point needed to collect those books! But It's still enjoyable.

The fifth year has taken as long as the previous four years combined to complete and it is still not over.
I worry that game players are going to find other venues and the WB will simply pull the plug before the game reaches its 7th year.
If you are still checking in, Duddahs strongly suggests building your cache of creture food from the end of the room next to the courtyard entrance if you have earned creatures in the care for magical creatures, Forbidden Forest etc.

I didn't know you could collect them there! cool! I am disappointed in the small amount of time they give you to finish side tasks. I was so hoping to try out for the frog choir, but 3 tasks a day, which is about what I can fit in, just wasn't enough time, and now that event is over... It's not the first time this has happened to me. I'm still in 4th year, and I also hope they carry it through the 7th year.

I totally agree with you regarding the short time for the side challenges. To make it worse, they seem to run them while they are running the side challenge where you can gather more books etc. I did get through the Frog Choir but lost out during the first animagus challenge. They are doing that again though right now and I am not worrying about the St. Patrick's scarf challenge to make sure I get the animagus this time around. I am almost finished with year 5 and am just staying patient. In case you did not know, collecting one of each pet pays off as you do not need to feed them. Just go to the Gryffindor Dorm to buy them or at the bottom page where you can buy cloths etc. The top of the floors and places brings you to the area where you can get your Niffler, and all sorts of creatures. At this time, I have all four in the first area, the fairy and bowtruckle in it he second, the acromantula in the third and last night just got the plimpy in the lake challenge. They will eat up your accumulated creature food so be sure to try and store them up when you can.
