What if there were no Deathly Hallows? How would this story have been different?
This is an interesting thought Miss Charlotte. I think it still would have been alright because the story would have just focused on the hunt for horcruxes. I think I might have actually liked it better that way because I found the whole Elder Wand thing so confusing. The only thing is, there would have had to be a different explanation as to why DD had the invisibility cloak. But I bet JKR could have come up with a good one.

What if?
What if the Dursley's had decided NOT to leave prior to the attack on the Seven Harry's?

What if, on their birthdays, wizards did like the hobbits and gave gifts to everyone instead of getting them? Imagine what kind of gift a brilliant wizard like Dumbledore would come up with. And what do you suppose Snape would give? And Fred and George's gift might be the most fun-if you dared to open it!!!

What if Dumbledore had not hired Dobby to come and work in the kitchens of Hogwarts.... What do you believe would have become of Dobby and Winky?

What if Dumbledore had not hired Dobby to come and work in the kitchens of Hogwarts.... What do you believe would have become of Dobby and Winky? I tend to think it would have been very sad indeed. Dobby seemed to always try to take care of Winky. Then knowing how he searched for ages before going to the school. I can't help but image Dobby and Winky out in the cold dark rain. Maybe taking refuge in either an empty abandoned house or even so much as a cave near Hogsmeade. However, I think it's cool to know that Aberforth was friends with Dobby. Not in a professional sense but a sincere friendship. I still see they would have met no matter if Dobby began working for Hogwarts or not.

I agree with the thought that Aberforth may have intervened...

What if Fudge was married to Umbridge? I can imagine how bad things would have been because of this? Not to mention his dealings with Lucius Malfoy, I wonder how that would have gone with her involved?

It's so funny you bring that up Miss Charlotte because my what if was going to be what if Dolores Umbridge had a child? I wonder if it would change her for the better in any way? And also I wonder what would happen if the child grew up, went to Hogwarts and became sympathetic to the halfbloods and Muggle borns?

I do believe that there is a great chance that Delores Umbridge would have corrupted her own offspring, much in the way that Lucius Malfoy tried to damage Draco. If it were not for the good that was hidden by Narcissa Draco may well have been just as horrid as his father was.

To Muggles, Hogwarts is "a moldering old ruin with a sign over the entrance saying "DANGER, DO NOT ENTER, UNSAFE." What if some Muggle kids decided they wanted to check it out anyway and went in?

What if?
What if Dumbledore had made an exception and allowed Aunt Petunia to attend Hogwarts? Do you believe she may have exhibited some latent talent for magic?

To Muggles, Hogwarts is "a moldering old ruin with a sign over the entrance saying "DANGER, DO NOT ENTER, UNSAFE." What if some Muggle kids decided they wanted to check it out anyway and went in? You know... I've always wondered about this if it happened during the school year. I can imagine some muggle hikers..... or people determined to see where the train tracks went. I know.... I know... they are enchanted much like the World Cup was. Still, if it were a catch all to deter all muggles, then why the sign in the first place? Still, if school is in session and some young adult adventurers were out to discover the world... would the Hogwarts students be invisibile? Or for that matter would the Hogwarts students even see the muggles wandering about the grounds? So many cool things to think about when it comes to this. .............................................. Duddahs..... When it comes to allowing Petunia to go to the school... I think it would have been a sad thing. So cruel. But I have wondered if she might have met Filch and the two of them would have gotten together? That would be better so he would not be so alone. He'd have someone who understands him. I think that would mean he would not be so angry all of the time. Well.... this is what MY run on imagination came up with long ago. Still.... taking it a bit further... this would turn out so differently for Harry once his parents met their fate. Harry would have been brought up knowing about the magical world. Wow.... so different than how it turned out to be after all.

What if Harry had not believed Hagrid when he came to the Hut on the Rock and stayed with the Dursley's. Do you believe Hagrid would have continued to try to convince Harry of his place in the Magical world??

What if.....
Hagrid was never expelled from Hogwarts in the first place? How would that have changed things for the story? For some reason, if Tom Riddle would have simply cooled it for a while, like he ended up doing... or being more discreet. Then Hagrid being expelled would not have been as crucial as they thought.... Then we know that this was to also cast doubt on his character once Harry stuck his head into the Riddle diary. Still, would it have changed much?

What if;
What if you woke up one morning and looked in the mirror to find that you look just like Lord Voldemort?

What if;
What if you were sent a letter late in life to invite you to do studies at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, just during the summer months as an adult. Would you go?

What if....
There were no Hogwarts? Would all of the students who went there be sent to the surrounding schools? How would that turn out differently for the wizarding world?
