What if Rita Skeeter had actually been looked upon as a legitimate writer. Do you believe one of her books would have become part of the Hogwarts teaching list? I kind of would think she might have been. I mean, that last book of hers about Dumbledore I could see would pique many people's curiousity. Sadly, I know I'd buy it if JKR wrote it for publication even from Rita's point of view. It would make me wonder exactly what was true as well as what might have inspired for Rita to stretch the truth upon.
OOOO! That reminds me. I have some pictures to post.

What if.....
(Ok just need to say that this is a disclaimer. I'd LOVE to claim that I had this thought... or this "what if." )
What if at the end of Deathly Hallows, in the epilogue where we get to see a grown up Harry and friends all meeting and putting their own children on the Hogwarts train for the first time... we do see Draco and his wife... but what if Harry would turn his head and ALSO see a grown up married DUDLEY and his wife placing their first child on the train to Hogwarts, because they had given birth to a magical child?

I think I remember reading somewhere that JKR had considered that...but that she realized that the Dursley blood would nullify any magic in their family... Here it is...from Harry Potter wikia: Rowling once considered having Dudley show up at Platform 9 3/4 with a magical child in the epilogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, but later changed her mind, stating that "any latent wizarding genes would never survive contact with Uncle Vernon’s DNA." Erin I saw this online, I wonder if the person who said this got the idea from reading what you did? Really, I wonder how JKR came to that conclusion? Petunia is half of Dudley and she wanted so desperately to go to Hogwarts that she was quite offended and hurt by not getting to go. I doubt any other person/muggle or squib would have had the courage to write Dumbledore (or any headmaster) in hopes that they could plea to go to the school. She could have passed on that gene to Dudley easily.... in my opinion.
Still, I will admit that I would find it highly unlikely that he'd have any magical kids either. Just imagine, would he have been afraid of his kid or would he have thought him/her as someone who could protect his family from the strange/weird magical bad witches/wizards... (not to mention magical beings like dementors.)
Thanks Erin, because I didn't realize she actually considered it. Cool!

Well I never heard that before, but I absolutely love the idea of Dudley with a wizard child. I do think that part of Petunia who so desperately wanted to go to Hogwarts could produce some magic genes, and also Dudley has an Aunt and Uncle and a cousin who were all all wizards. And Dudley had gone through such a transformation by book 7, he had really changed his mind about Harry in many ways. I think he would be able to accept a wizard child after seeing what Harry could do. I wonder what kind of girl Dudley would marry, what if he somehow met a wizard girl through Harry and they ended up married?

For me, it's just strange to think of Dudley married. But then again, there was a Petunia for mean ole' Vernon, so why not?

What if the community had special holidays to honor some of the ones who died in DH? Maybe a day for Colin Creevey where young wizard photographers entered their best work-and the winner got the Colin Creevey Commemorative award for photography. And to honor Fred, a special day, hosted by George where wizards from all over gave demonstrations of their best joke gifts.

I like the thought about the special contests and awards but maybe it would be more akin to the Memorial Day here in the US?

That's a cool idea. ALso, they could show that not all werewolves were bad guys. They could commemorate a full moon night, perhaps during Lupin's birth month. Honestly, ever since the POA movie came out, every single time I go out at night, and there happens to be a full moon shining brightly in the sky, with fluffy clouds moving swiftly across in front of it.... I always smile and say there's a Lupin's Moon out tonight. IF my memory serves me well, there was one on opening night of that film too.
.....
What if Harry Potter really went through all that he did as a baby, but there was no visible scar? I wonder how the story would have played out? It seemed like so many people stared at him because he was marked in such a visible way. They knew who he was the moment they saw it.

What if Mrs. Figg was actually a witch and not a squib. Do you believe that Harry would have been convicted by the Wizengamot of use of magic before a muggle?

I kind of feel that he would have no matter what. Fudge was so corrupt that he'd go to any lengths to make sure it was done. Really, it's so good that Dumbledore always has something up his sleeve. Still, it would have been interesting to find out that she was a witch the whole time. To me, that would have been a better choice than a squib.

What if Ron had never worn the locket, does anyone believe that Ron and Hermione and Harry would still have had a blow up at some point?

What if Ron had never worn the locket, does anyone believe that Ron and Hermione and Harry would still have had a blow up at some point? I think they probably would have. The tension was just so great and they must have doubted they would ever be able to find all the horcruxes in time. I believe they would eventually have had a blowup of some kind.

Yeah, I agree. Stress can really take a toll on each other, especially in close quarters like they were in. Just glad they found the strength to forgive and remember why they were there in the first place.

What if..... Fred and George were NOT twins but that there was another one making them triplets? I asked my daughter what she would think the third one would be named. She said Bob.

What if;
What if Luna and Neville fell madly in love and married? What would have become of the Magical Beasts stage project?

I still would wonder what if Voldemort ever fell in love with someone, how that would have turned out to affect him?

I do not believe Voldemort could ever fall in love as he was already, totally in love with himself.

I do not believe Voldemort could ever fall in love as he was already, totally in love with himself. I agree with you completely, but WHAT IF? It's a horrible thought really. Poor girl whomever that would have been. Glad JKR said that he was not capable of it so to spare any person he'd direct his attentions toward.
