There once were two boys-both the same, Fred and George/Gred and Feorge were their names, They flew cars toward the forest, Made a swamp for Delores, And they brought Weasley's Wheezes to fame.

Cool!
I seem to always want to start them off the same way every time.
You guys make this look so easy.
I think I flunked or barely passed poetry section when we were in 6th grade. I seem to recall a poem about a goat I once wrote. LOL!!!!

There once was a mean little kid
When the orphans saw him they hid.
He liked to torture them all
He so had a ball
When he was gone they were so glad to be rid.

That was great Miss C, I don't think I've read one about young Tom yet. I thought that was pretty scary in the books the way the treated the other orphans too.

Ooo I love Young Tom.... from a psychological point of view.
I'm one so large and chained to the floor.
They hide me from each and every door.
They nip my wings so I can not fly.
Ones so cruel they blind my eye.
All to guard their treasures galore.

Very good Miss C and with a good message too.
Young Ron had a red headed sister Her bat hex would make your face blister, She played Quiddith games With a captain of fame, And then found that he could not resist her.

Young Ron had a Dad and a Mum, They raised redheads second to none, His Mum was quite tough, His Dad loved Muggle stuff, In the Burrow they made living fun.

Death was acting like nothing more than a Brat,
He allowed Voldy to get his info from a fat Rat.
While chasing poor James round the house,
Once caught he then turned on his spouse,
And that is how they found Harry where he sat.
(Like I have said in the past, I do not know how to do this correctly. Is this a correct Limerick?) I see some on the WB posting things that do not rhyme or even make any sense but they think they can tell others how to do them.. Which is correct?

(Like I have said in the past, I do not know how to do this correctly. Is this a correct Limerick?) I see some on the WB posting things that do not rhyme or even make any sense but they think they can tell others how to do them.. Which is correct? The first, second, and third lines should be between 7 to 9 syllables, and should rhyme. The Third and fourth are supposed to have 5 to 6 syllables and rhyme with each other. This is how the Limerick's are supposed to go.. so many beats per line. (I think of it more like a childs tune than a poem. It's the only thing that helps me out here. ) The other ones over there that you might be seeing are variations.. of poems... NOT Limericks. Long ago, when you made your poem on that thread, I THINK they all agreed that there was room to add different kinds of poems there to that Limerick thread especially since they have really really done a lot of Limericks. That poems would not take over that thread. I think what someone started doing.. that really has no rhyme.. is choose something from the Harry Potter world... say offhand OWLS. Then start each line with the letter in that word.. first line starts with an "O".... Second one with a "W"... third with an "L"... last with an "S". Something like that. I too am not very sure how they come up with the lines themself.. I think it's a bit of branching off... still.. not sure. BUT it's still basically supposed to be a Limerick thread over there too... PLEASE Fangsfan... PLEASE correct me if I am wrong about ANY of this... even so I can make sure MY thoughts are correct.. I'm just guessing here now.

Yes Miss C that's right. People on the WB wanted to open the thread up to other kinds of poems so that's why you see different variations. When I started this way back when on the WB I didn't know if anyone would like it-so I was thrilled whatever anyone wanted to post-but I still do try to do the limericks myself. Duddahs, I loved yours-and you are right-I do have Irish on both my Mom and Dad's side~

Quick, stop her before she does another Young Ron-too late!
Young Ron had an owl nicknamed Pig, He was fast, (although not very big) This owl was so hyper, He wasn't the type for, Owl wisdom-but could dance a jig!

*clears my throat*
The Inferi fear fire and could climb no higher Cause Albus knew how to start one right now Even though he was tired.
eeek... *sighs*

There once was a guy named Fred
Who loved to play games with your head.
Stayed up late one night
being sneeky in plight
By Marauders Map he was led.

I love that Fred one! And thanks Duddahs for your nice word.s. I decided to try one in honor of one of my favorite new threads. There once was a baker named Bertie His food could be scrumptious-or dirty He made jelly beans Like nobody had seen And the flavors-some yucky, some flirty.
Come and try orange, lemon and lime, Make your choice but be wise-take your time, Some are flavored like Comet, Or bogie, or vomit, And beware of that green-dragon slime!

I wrote this after discussing on the Hufflepuff thread about going to an agricultural fair and then wondering what a wizard's fair would be like. I went to the big wizard's fair All the nifflers and snorkacks were there Hagrid showed his prize pumpkins And baked rock cake dumplings, And skrewts who were handled with care.
They had merry go rounds led by dragons All the hippogriff's tails were a waggin' There was candy from Honey's All the kids spent their money, And they sold butterbeer by the flagons
Now I'm done with this day which was sweet, But I have to admit that I'm beat, Think I'll go to the lake For a much needed break, And have giant squids rub my sore feet.

I look forward to what you have posted here to read. (Sorry for not posting here sooner.. My schedule these days is so bizarre.. I normally start my posting from the top of the site down... Tomorrow will be my upside down day. LOL! )
