Richard Harris played our beloved, gentle Albus Dumbledore in the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets Movies. I dearly miss this guy. I know I've mentioned it before... I never saw him exactly the same as the Dumbledore I had in my mind when reading the books, but he was the closest.
I saw that Gladiator was on yesterday.
My earliest memories of seeing him was a movie called A Man Called Horse. I might be wrong, but I think that was the movie where he was back in the cowboy and Indian days. Something like... he was raised by Indians or lived among them for a long period of time to where he lived through their customs.
Actually, my favorite old memory of seeing him was up on stage. Back in the old days, HBO recorded him in Camelot. It was a musical. I can still see him up there and hear him singing when I think of this.
I sometimes wish he could have lived to play in all eight Potter films, but I know he would have had a hard time.
I do miss him though.
