I downloaded Amazon prime (free for a month) so I could catch up on Under the Dome episodes..the only way I could see that they were available. Since I have it, I figured I'd see what else I could watch. I've been re-watching Buffy the Vampire episodes, but then I also saw that they have Heroes, a show I had wanted to watch when it was on, but didn't have time for. I'm most of the way through the first season, and am liking it! I'm hoping they were able to wrap up everything in the 4 seasons it was on... Anyone else watch it? Did you like it? No spoilers, please!
They also have Downton Abbey, and Dr. Who...both shows that I haven't seen, but have heard so much about. Not sure I'll have time to watch them all within the month...or that I want to spend that much time in front of a screen. Since I have it on iPad however, I've been watching it while cleaning the kitchen and doing laundry...so at least I'm not just sitting on my bum all day!

That was a show I wanted to watch too... but like you, for some reason didn't have time for it. I wonder, if there was something else on a different channel in that time slot that I could not resist more? That must have been what I was glued to instead.
I spent much of this week catching up on Downton Abbey while trying to recouperate from this flu or whatever, and tending to my son while he has this too. I bought season one months ago... ( and was given a season two for my birthday the other day) That kept me busy for a while. Still, I didn't have to feel pushed to watch (or finish watching) it until I wanted to.
So.... how many seasons of Heroes are there? And is that the show that has Zachary Quinto from the new Star Trek in it? It seems like I remember people EMS... first on scene saving lives. My husband used to do that for a living, but this show I know had a twist on that. It was not just another ER type show. I don't think I ever watched a single episode even though I thought it would make for a good tv show.

Yes, it does have Zachary Quinto in it. His character is a really good one...well, to watch...but he's evil. Heroes isn't like an ER show. It's sci fi. I still don't fully understand it, because they haven't answered many questions yet, but it is basically a show about, well, I can't explain it, so here is an excerpt from wikipedia...
"The plot of Heroes is designed to be told in a way similar to the way comic books are told. Each season of Heroes contains one or two "volumes". There are several main story lines in each volume. As the main plots develop, smaller, more intimate stories are told within them. Each main character's story is developed separately and as time passes their paths cross and it is explained how their stories are intertwined and connected. This is the story of ordinary people who discover extraordinary super powers after a solar eclipse reveals them, and how these abilities affect the characters' daily lives.
The first season, known as "Volume One: Genesis", begins with a seemingly ordinary group of people who gradually become aware that they have special abilities. The story develops showing their reactions to these powers, and how this discovery affects their personal and professional lives. At the same time, several ordinary individuals are investigating the origins and extent of these abilities. Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy), a research geneticist, continues his late father's research into the biological source of the powers, while Noah Bennet (Jack Coleman) represents, and is a lead agent for, a secret organization known only as "the Company" that wants to control and, if necessary, terminate those who are gifted. After only having a short time to come to terms with their new abilities, each of the heroes is drawn into the final showdown. They must each do their part to stop the destruction of the world that starts with an impending explosion at Kirby Plaza in New York City."
I'm almost done with season one. Erin

OH! I remember now WHY I really did want to see that. YOu had me when you mentioned that first line about superheroes. And you guys know how I am a huge fan of super heroes. COOL. This is so funny too. They closed our Haistings which was located in the town over from ours. So, today we went to the next biggest town away... and it was a drive to get there. I lost one of my favorite Jason Isaacs' movies Sweet November and I can't seem to find it in any second hand shop around here. That store is always good for any old movie. Well, I got caught up looking at tv series for purchase. I could not find any Doctor Who (they had it buried down the foreign films isle good grief. ).. but found lots of other stuff. And Heroes was out there in the middle isle with Downton Abbey (hey? Isn't that a british show too? ). I thought of this thread. Thanks for posting this... I was in a hurry so didn't get to read the back of the Heroes box. I did find my Sweet November one... YAY. :|NOw... I"m wondering if they have Heroes for rent at my local rental house. I've got to see it now that you've reminded me of this. I seem to recall this one scene where Zach is standing on top of a building and puts his hand on the roof and it does something wierd.... Ok... it's late. And I still need to run my reports in for work before hitting the sack. UGH.
