This is the place for us to post some of our favorite places and the things we do.
Well, this is a place that Duddahs hopes we could all visit and share with others the Magical Places we have visited and show some of the Magical Things that we do.
If you have images of a Magical Place that you have been to, then this would surely be the place to share them.

Duddahs thought he would share with everyone the magical place that he calls Shell Cottage in Newport, Rhode Island. He looks like a sausage here...) Those pictures are so cool. I love that one of CJ. He looks so comfy laying there like that. It makes me smile I love the ones of the water and the fireworks. I think it was NZ.... one of our other members here who were talking about the 40 steps with you before.

Thanks so much Miss Charlotte.
I am not a very good photographer though. There are many more Cottages that the images came out just too poor quality to share.
NZ and I were indeed having a chat about Cliff Walk and 40 Steps.. What is in the image is the visitor area right behind "The Breakers" Fourty Steps itself is actually on the other side and obscured from view at that time of day.
For some bizarre reason, we get this optical illusion that occurs several times a day. Sometimes it appears as if you can just walk across the water and get to the mansions in a matter of minutes while at other times it appears as if they are miles away.
I do love the Fireworks and I am there every year for decades and decades and decades on the weeks leading up to and after the Fourth of July.
This year they were especially grand because the America's Cup races had just officially ended the night before the fourth and the Tall Ships regatta began on the Sixth. So they wrapped all of the Fireworks celebrations up into one big display.
We were also able to see the Jamestown Fireworks but not as well as the Newport display on the Fifth of July.
We had Lobster Rolls that I made, Stuffies from my favorite place in New Bedford Mass (I drove up the day before to get them at the End Zone Restaurant in New Bedford) For me it is well worth the drive for a few hours to get them. I always get a few dozen frozen uncooked ones to take home to Pond House too!. I love my stuffies and these have oft been voted some of the best of the best on all of Cape Cod.

I sure love the color of your hydrangeas at your Shell Cottage Duddahs, and all the shrubbery for that matter! And it looks like you've put up the awning as well! It is all so very nice!
And nice shots of the fireworks too!
Yes, I think we were having about a conversation about the Cliff Walk and Ocean Drive.

thanks for sharing those pictures duddahs, all of them are so pretty. Your shell cottage looks marvelous with that old-world charm. And I love that brick manse--it reminds me of one that I saw in a soap opera on tv.

I am so excited=I finally got to see these pictures! I hadn't been able to see anything and today they came up for me-I think having a new computer helped. Duddahs, Shell Cottage looks just scrumptious and I was so glad to see what CJ looks like-very cute! I love the blue hydrangeas too, great pix.

Wow... Those are all so pretty Duddahs. Look at all of that green! Our drought is so bad that our trees are all dying. Pine needles are covering everything now that we had a storm night before last. Much needed. (and we don't even have any pine trees in our yard. ;D Neighbors do.) At least we have this thread to come here to see that the whole world is still alive out there. Those flowers are so beautiful.

Thanks Miss Charlotte, and those images were taken when I returned from vacation and we were in the midst of a major heat wave.. It has rained a great deal of late though extreme humidity.
Everything is growing and growing and growing. One can not even come close to all of the trimming of bushes and cutting of lawns around my neck of the Forbidden Forest.

Thank you for sharing images of your wonderful gardens, Duddahs. Professor Sprout would be in awe with your vast array of flowers and shrubbery! You really do an excellent job of maintaining everything!
I really do love the Park in front of your house! It really is a piece of work and such a lovely place!

My sister and I went to see the Victorian Mansion in Portland. The theme this year is the gilded age and every room is decorated for Christmas. They have a library, parlor, sitting room, etc and you can go upstairs too. Absolutely gorgeous, I wish you could have all been with me to see it.
