I want those socks Grandpa! And I'll bet that graveyard looks so cool, that's a lot of work too. My Aunt's neighors did that one year-not with HP but with the gravestones-it really looked amazing. I have put a black cat on a jack o lantern, some fall geese, and an orange and black owl on my side steps. More decorations to come later! But I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who is already into decorating for Halloween.

Actually.. when I saw them I was thinking of you when I posted the picture. Oh and when I read this post of yours... I just yelled out to hubby that he has a kindred spirit with the halloween decorations.

Hello to all my Harry Potter buddies-Hufflepuffs and all. I am still so tired-my sister and I worked all weekend cleaning out my Aunt's house. It is due to be sold, the closing may go through this week. I see the fire is going here, think I'll have a little snack-some of Miss Charlotte's lemon candy she left me is still here-and then curl up for a little nap before work. Fangfan's sis left a mixed berry pie for any who drop in-help yourselves. ZZZZZZZZ........

OK... I can't take this anymore... I had help doing this.. First not only were these particular banners a request from Duddah to have in place on the very first day he came here.. But I had help from those on the site I go to for tech support. I'm just the go between guy.. So these thanks should be toward Duddah and the tech guys... not me. Still.. I think they are cool too.

Drops off some fresh Apple Cider that Duddahs picked up this morning at Aspetuck Valley Farms... Do not worry, it is pasteurized..... Also got some squares of pure honey still in the wax combs as well as some Blueberry/Cinnamon preserves. It is fantastic on Thomas' English Muffins or plain Scones....

I read this early this morning.. Blueberry/Cinnamon preserves... Just a few minutes ago. I sent hubby out with a food list to buy... I was looking through my Harry Potter cookbook and writing down certain ingredients of yummy things to make. I would LOVE to have a recipie of Blueberry/Cinnamon preserves. This happens to be a couple of my favorite flavors.. I never thought about putting them together to see what would come of it.. much less not in a preserves. Mmm... Thanks duddah. This sounds good.

I have to get my hands on that cookbook! Thanks Duddahs, especially for the cider-I love it. I always know fall is here when cider time comes around.

Popping into the Common Room for a little snack-Duddah's delicious apples-thanks Duddahs! My sister and I are going to the fair tomorrow-an agricultural fair not too far from my town. It's the biggest agriculatural fair in Maine and I think one of the three biggest in New England-everybody around here goes. It got me wondering if the wizards would have a kind of fair like this-instead of cows and horses they would show hippogriffs and nifflers. And Hagrid would enter his prize pumpkins. They would have dragon roller coasters and merry go rounds for all the kids. And of course Honeydukes would have booths selling all their candies. I could go on and on with this but better get to bed-goodnight to all my Harry Potter buddies.

Thank you Miss Charlotte, what a nice thing to say! I did go today and boy am I tired, but we had a great time. And they did have a merry go round with dragons on it for the kids too-I got a laugh out of that! I love seeing the animals and the lady I got my sheepdog from is always in the goat barn. She sells peanut butter fudge made from goats milk-some of the best I've ever had. Also in the agricultural expos where they given prizes for pumpkins, baked goods, etc, one of my favorite things they have is a scarecrow competition. They have the coolest scarecrows, it amazes me what people can come up with. It's also a lot of fun because you usually see a lot of people you know, so many people com to this fair. I could keep going forever about it, it's always such a fun time and something I look forward to every year.

Yeah... I missed getting to go this year but I did get to last year... really most years... We always have so much fun. A friend of our family's for ages always has many of their animals entered in the fair.. I have no idea how many ribbons they win.. Such a confidense boost to their little ones to win ribbons when they are so so young.. But for years now, this has been going on. Not to mention how they even race thier horses.. the little girls run their horses around barrels and win WOW.. Now they are almost all grown up.
Peanut butter fudge? Wow.. I'm thinking about making some come Christmastime. It's been years... maybe I'll have luck and it will turn out right this time.
I also have one of my best friends who used to raise goats.. They raised thier kids on goats milk.. My friend said that from time to time they try cows milk again and it just does not taste as good. I've never brought myself close to trying any.. But those who have normally say it's pretty good.
Hubby did take daughter and her friend to the fair last weekend. It was the first time she ever rode any of the HUGE fast rides. She went on the zipper three times in a row.. I laughed and said.. That's MY daughter.. Then smiled a huge smile. When she got home I told her that her grandmother and I used to ride them together every year when we lived in Georgia.. We had a ball. It was good to see she is falling in line. Her mouth dropped to hear that not only I loved the big rollercoasters and fast rides, but MY mother does too. ;D I see next year she will want to ride them with the boys she's noticed these days. Seems to me that she has also noticed how the boys she's hanging out with these days seem to be more fun.. she's more relaxed around them. She told me (on her own) just the other day, how the girls she normally has to choose from around here to hang out with always wants to get into arguments.. fights then make up then the cycle starts over again. She said guys don't seem to be like that, and she can't figure out why. SO I see next year I'll be talking about a boy who took her up on the rollercoaster. She's having a ball!
But to get this back on Harry Potter.. I think that would be fun to have seen... some sort of fair in that world. You know there would have to be brooms of some sort.. OH to think.. Muggle rides would scare the living daylights out of them... so a corner dedicated to the brave who might just let down their magic wands and see if they would trust a muggle contraption. ;D

Your fair sounds like a lot of fun Miss Charlotte-and your daughter is very brave! And I love the idea of Muggle rides at a wizard's fair-never thought of that but imagine what a ball Arthur Weasley would have. I remember when we talked about this before you told us all about the Renaissance fair you went to-that sounded like a lot of fun too.

I'll comment about the renfair soon. But how can you guys talk about fireplaces when it's 78 degrees out? Yeah... I know.. it was a bit nippy here too this morning. In the 40's last night. I had on two shirts this morning while running around doing things in my house. Wonders if there are any house elves about to light the fires at night? ;D

78!! Sounds good. It's still rainy and cold here, but at least it's not freezing. Hufflepuff has lots of house-elves, I'm sure they'd tend the fireplace for us. Can't wait to hear more about that fair, it sounded like so much fun.
