Duddahs fly's into the Gryffindor Common Room.
See's a dust bunny scurry under the leather sofa in front of the massive stone fireplace.
SCARED!
Duddahs fly's out as quickly as he flew in. Duddahs is afraid of dust bunnies.

Duddahs fly's into the Gryffindor Common room, spots an open area on a soft chair in front of the roaring fire. The hearth lights the tapestries while it playfully causes shadows to dance across the hewn rafters above. Duddahs settles in for a nice, cozy nap

It has been cold and damp, well really dreary in New England most of this week but the forecast is starting lol look better for the Memorial Day weekend.
Duddahs hopes the little corners of all the loungers world will have a brilliant and joyful time.
Duddahs sits quietly awaiting someone to light the fire in the huge stone fireplace. Until then he snuggles into a well worn pillow and closes his eyes.

Sneaks in while Duddahs is sleeping and leaves a nice hot cup of spiced apple cider to warm him up-made with apples from the Hufflepuff orchards.

Duddahs awakes to the delicious aroma and searches in vain for the kind sole who left the treats for him.
Smiles, winks and digs right in.

The delicious smell of summer apples awakens this ole bird and puts him in a right friendly state of mind.
Stretches his wings and grabs a fritter. Delicious!
Shakes the sleep out of his joints and takes flight out of the common room to soar upon the summer solstice breezes.

It is a warm night here in the Gryffindor Common Room but Duddahs has his trusty young pup, Monty sitting along side him as Duddahs picks up the most recent edition of the Daily Profit.
Oh no! Followers of Gellert Grindelwald have amassed and killed a Muggle in some place called Virginia.
It is time for Duddahs to alert the remaining members of Dumbledore's Army. They surely will come to the call for assistance.

Duddahs fly's into the Gryffindor Common Room.
Searches high and low but no Halloween decorations.
Soon he hopes, soon

Loved this story and wanted to share it with everyone but especially for Duddahs as I remembered he loved the Wizard of Oz books.
When the wardrobe department was looking for a coat for Frank Morgan (Prof. Marvel / The Wizard), it decided it wanted one that looked like it had once been elegant but had since "gone to seed." They visited a second-hand store and purchased an entire rack of coats, from which Morgan, the head of the wardrobe department and director Victor Fleming chose one they felt gave off the perfect appearance of "shabby gentility." One day, while he was on set in the coat, Morgan idly turned out one of the pockets and discovered a label indicating that the coat had been made for L. Frank Baum. Mary Mayer, a unit publicist for the film, contacted the tailor and Baum's widow, who both verified that the coat had at one time been owned by the author of the original "Wizard of Oz" books. After the filming was completed, the coat was presented to Mrs. Baum.

Fangsfan1, You made my heart sing with your post. I indeed truly love the OZ series on the same level as those by JKRowling and the Harry Potter Series. This was something Duddahs was not aware of and it adds dimension to the lore and history of the Oz saga. Thank you very much for remembering, you are truly a dear sweet sole.

Nz enters the common room from his favourite secret trapdoor under the rug. He makes his way over to the fireplace and places a picture frame of an owl flying around atop the mantle. He puts some Bertie Botts beans down in front of the frame, jostles the logs in the fire a bit, then sits down in his favourite chair beside the fireplace.

Nz wakes up and shivers at the cold air inside the Common Room. With a flick and a twist of the wand, the snow is swept off the windowsills and the large windows shut. A large log waddles its way over to the fireplace and flops itself onto the dying embers. As the heat returns to the common room, Nz falls asleep once again.

Walks in and sees NZ fast asleep on a couch in front of the fire...looks like Crookshanks has made himself comfortable at his feet. Flops in a nearby chair, and sees that that the house elves have outdone themselves with big mugs of warm butterbeer, with some whipped cream on top. Mmmm...warmed by the butterbeer and the fire, I too, nod off by the fire.

Nz opens a groggy eye and notices Erin fast asleep in the common room. The eye turns to the outside window and is greeted by frostiness and snowy weather.
"Better in here than out there" he thinks to himself before dozing off again.
