I'd ask her what she ever saw in Vernon? I mean, how can you love a man who is like that?

I would love to ask Rita Skeeter, what was her favorite story to write and were there any actual facts in it?

After you had decided to become a reporter, what made you take your career in the direction it went instead of going into more serious and responsible reporting?

My very one question right now for JKR would be,
A you in fact writing the Scottish Book?

For JKR it would be very hard to narrow to just one. And I love your question Duddahs. I think I would ask her to explain more about the veil in book 5, I'm still fascinated by it.

I have always wondered what it was about the Veil that people did not understand. I believe in my heart that I completely understand the veil and it is a sad thing.
I am just so not worried about death and its ramifications.

Duddahs, I do agree with everything you said here. I just had lost of questions about this scene and thought it was very mysterious.
Why did Hermione (and JKR say the veil was dangerous?
If Harry and Luna both could here the voices because they lost beloved parents, why were others like Ginny mesmerized and had to be pulled away?
Why could they not recover Sirius's body from there and have a proper funeral?
What exactly were they studying in that room? The effects of death on wizards or the afterlife or what?
How exactly did the veil come to be in that room-how did they get it there?
For some reason I just felt there was a lot more to it than meets the eye and admittedly I may be reading too much into it but I had so many questions as you can see. I'd just love to talk with JKR and hear exactly what she was thinking when she wrote this.

I am just so not worried about death and its ramifications. I"m almost on the same wavelength as you. I'm not so worried about death. I know many people are. I don't see it as a sad thing, at least not for the person going through it. For them, it's a time to reunite with old friends and family of whom they missed. A happy reunion. It's only sad for the people.. loved ones, left behind for the time being. Then when it's their turn, (my loved ones left behind by me) they will be welcome by me with open arms of joy, since I had passed before them. So as for in my own mind, what I believe the veil is about, I'm alright. BUT I do wonder what JKR had in mind for it. If she sees it the way I imagine it to be. I never understood why she had Sirius Black die in just that particular spot... Was it to keep from having a grave for Harry to mourn by? .... But for me, at this moment my mind is blank as to what I would ask JKR. I'll have to post later when one comes to me. Funny, out of all of the questions I used to ask over at the Quibbler. Now my mind goes blank. ;D

I hope you don't mind... I'd like to take a stab at some of these. Why did Hermione (and JKR say the veil was dangerous? For me, if the person going in to retrieve the person who had passed through could come back, I guess it would not be so dangerous. I guess you would have to choose to go through without intending on coming back to make journey without danger. It's dangerous only if you still wish to return here and instead entering to be trapped with no way to return. But then again... what is on the other side is not that clear. Danger could lie in the unknown. I wonder if that is where Death takes the people he calls upon? This sort of made me curious. I mean you don't have to witness death in order to miss those loved ones who had died. Why couldn't the others hear at least someone? A grandmother Weasley perhaps? Ahh... I think this is the key. (See my last post.) No real closure for Harry. For me it would be a curious thing to be a fly on that wall... to see what they really were up to. OK... this was the question that caused me to quote your post. I think JKR answered this one in an interview.... wait... or was it in Fantastic Beasts? A foot note. If my memory serves me right, she said it was there before the Ministry of Magic was. This was my theory once I read that, that this was the reason why the Ministry decided to choose that particular place to place thieir Ministry. I mean, can you imangine Muggles coming across it? How could they hide something so magical such as this... protect it from even darker wizards? Such an amazing concept. Just who found it first? OR did an ancient wizard create it? Is it one of those places like Stone Hinge? Some people believe in ghosts and demonds passing through vortex's or portholes into another world. What if it's not death at all? What if it's like a Stargate? I"m who's to tell that ever came back? Ok... My thoughts are going wild here. Sorry. ;D Na.... I beleive it was written to be about death and the mystery of it. Exactly... as much as we all might could make assumptions... Theories. Still, none would stand up to the person who added this to the Harry Potter World... JKR herself.

Great answers Miss Charlotte, thanks! And so interesting to hear that the veil was already there-I love hearing your quotes from the interviews since I've missed so many of them myself.

Hmm, maybe what I get from the books explains the Veil to me in a satisfactory way but obviously not to others. That does not make anyone wrong for asking questions, I just always wondered why so many people felt that it had been completely unexplained.
Having lost many friends and family over the years, maybe my thoughts about the Veil are tainted.

If I could ask one question of JKR;
Where did Argus Filch come from?

My very one question right now for JKR would be, A you in fact writing the Scottish Book? I honestly believe that this is now known as Pottermore. She decided to give us these little tidbits of unknown background information about all of the thises and thatses in this format. I don't think there will actually be an actual book. For this I am sad.
