I'm glad I came in here.. I need to find out when Oprah comes on... I know it's in the afternoons on a regular channel, but that is it.

I loved the interview. First of all the fact that she said she's still writing and may even write something more about HP was great. Wish she'd mentioned something about the encyclopedia though. Also how she shared how overwhelming it was when she became so famous so quickly. Also the fact that her mother's death had such and influence on her books, I had heard that before, but it just got me thinking more about it having it come from her. Another think I found interesting-when she said that as a young child she had always wanted to write and had written all her life. I was somehow under the impression that when she wrote the HP books it was the first time she had written anything-I see I was very wrong about that.

I absolutely loved JKR in the interview but I am not a fan of Oprah Winfrey.. I had never watched her show before and I was very disappointed at how she seemed to be all about herself and her own retirement.
Honestly, she was a bull in a china shop when it comes to reporting. Otherwise, I loved the interview.. I could have done with a lot less of Oprahs opinions and more of JKR's.

I was very impressed with how down to earth JKR seemed. Also the hotel where she stayed-it kind of reminded me of how I think Hogwarts might look! I could see where she'd love to do her writing there.

Sorry Erin if you had not seen it yet...
I know... I was impressed by how the tone of this interview went.. There was a definate connection between these two women, who never met ,but have so much in common. We may not have had the juices squeezed out of her, like most of those who would have her there interviewing her (sadly, probably like I might) have done.. but it seemed like we got a glimpse of the real personality of JKR's.. The woman behind the books. She seemed so calm and relaxed, more in depth when sharing how she feels post all of this crazyness. No more stress to deal with having to deal with the public.. her fans. It's done.. period.. and she is enjoying her life. For this, I"m so glad to hear.
I think my favorite part of it all was how she said that she does not feel like she has to top what she has already accomplished. It shows how secure she's become within herself. She said this was not how she grew up. Wow... how she's grown.
But I am very interested, although I respect her privacy, on her comments dealing with her father.. It must have been something bad to have the only partent left living suddenly she's chosen to cut him out of her life. That must have been hard.
I saw this interview not so enlightning from a fan of the Harry Potter books perspective.. but definately one from a fan of the woman who had transformed the world by this creation.

For those of us who have not gone and checked out the Leaky Cauldron on this interview, they have up 4 additional links to Oprahs site with some truly spectacular material that they cut out of the original interview..
What a Dunderhead Oprah is for not including this material, especially the one about JKR and her son and family! This is material that no one had ever heard before!

Hope you get to see them.. They really are in my opinion the best of what the interview was all about.
Then why on earth did Oprah not include those cuts in the original.. Just goes to show she has no idea of what JKR and her minions are all about.

Yeah... really it is a surprise to see these left out when they are more of what her fans would have seen.

I am so thrilled with the fact that I just found out that the actor who plays young Gellert Grindlewald and Bonnie Wright are engaged.. BUT! and this is a big BUTT! They are both far too young! 19 and 21... They are just too young... Too young and too much success right now.. As soon as the HP movie bonanza is over and things become difficult money wise, I would hope that they would take their time and not just jump into the icy waters with both feet and their eyes closed.
