Sorry Pseudo, but I do not see what your response to question 18 has anything to do with the question. Neither 14 or 15 have anything to do with Common Rooms or House Dorms.

I answered 18 with Sadly nope. and then I offered help by stating that a clue could be found if you referred to the answer to 14 or 15. Which means that it is a place of residence & that the trio had been there together in HBP and that Harry had been there 2 years previous.

A Dorm is a Residence, the trio where in Harry's dorm in HBP and Harry was there two years previous as well. So, you see, your explanation seems not to work for me.. Sorry. I will let someone else figure this one out since I seem not to have any kind of understanding what your answers refer to.. Don/t worry, it is me, not you so please do not get discouraged. I just have Dumb Blocks sometimes.

Rubs hands together... I hope I get to come home for lunch tonight because I am going to attempt a breakdown of my thoughts to see if I can figure this one out.

This has happened to me before... those thought to be easy were the challenging ones. I'll admit I'm at a loss as to what to ask for the next question. This automatically means it's a place... cool Ok... .These were the two questions that had me thinking will narrow things down quite a bit. So I researched places that HARRY was only at during book four and where the trio was ALL at in only book six. I was still at a loss. MY next question I did not ask, which was IF these were the ONLY books that the above mentioned went to this place or were there more.. but I didn't think it was time to ask this particular one... I waited for someone else to ask the next one to narrow down more clues. This one was in book five which were neither mentioned questions of numbers f 5 and 6. SO I still waited for someone to ask another question for I had not one to ask just yet. AHHH great question that narrowed things down quite a bit... but still had me scratching my head. My first thought was it INSIDE Hogwarts or some place nearby like the Forbidden forest, Hagrid's Hut or Hogsmeade it's self.. BUT Hogsmeade was out since we saw them there in book three... not one on your list of clues above. Then Hagrid's hut was visited in the first two books as well... So... back to the drawing board. Still... I"m thinking the Forbidden forest.. but I'll wait for another question to be asked. Wait... they visited it in book one... OK back to the drawing board. Hmm curious question that crosses off places like the Chamber of Secrets (duh... book two) and the room of requirement (duh.. book five and beyond) Back to the drawing board. Another good question... is it a classroom or a teachers office? That popped into my head.. but I waited to reread the earlier questions since I was in a hurry and only took a quick peek that day this questio was asked. No time to post. Good... someone asked it and now we know.. NOT a classroom. that crosses a lot off the list of places AT Hogwarts... Still, not sure if it's a question of if it's IN or OUTSIDE of Hogwarts... I'll waitto ask when I have time. . Cool question to ask the size.. Now I'm not sure what to ask so I ask this one: Hmm? Now I'm perplexed.. not that kind of place... I guess it's NOT a teachers office... Still is it even indoors? But I opt to ask this one that popped into my head quickly. OK in your clue for those numbers we are back to where we started. Harry by himself went there in GOF. And the trio ALL went there in HBP. Ok I finally caught it.. You used the word "residence." Now I'm more confused. OK... from the things mentioned so far I too began to think of the dorms except we have seen all of them just about in the first movie/book in the dorms not just those particular... wait.... Na it could not be Myrtles bathroom since it was in COS not GOF where Harry goes in there.. and the trio was with him then. OK in your clue for those numbers we are back to where we started. Harry by himself went there in GOF. And the trio ALL went there in HBP. NOW the new clues are added to say that it is a place where someone lives AND is located at Hogwarts. Can't be the kitchens... Can't be the Forbidden forest so not any place within there. Can't be a classroom nor dorm nor teachers office. I"m still having to think. Are you certain you have the correct books mentioned? I"ve got to go again... Got to go get my kids so I'll be back in here in a few more hours... less than this last time. In the mean time, I'll think some more.

So was I even close in any of my assumptions while trying to figure this one out?
Really... if these are not humans who are residing inside of Hogwarts.. I"ll have to ask my last question.

I see how you got there now Pseudo but I had ruled out the Owlery after questions 5, 6 because Harry was at the Owlery in more than just GOF, don't you remember he mailed Sirius letters as well as receiving a letter from Sirius in the Movie when the Owl bit him? Because you had not said that he was in the other books, I just drew the conclusion from your extended answer that the Owlery could not be the place.
Oh well, maybe this is why we should probably stick to Yes or No answers alone as the more we say, the more we can mislead or misunderstand.
This has come up on the different 20 questions threads before, not just here where sticking to just the yes or no are most times the best responses of all and I for one am guilty of those extended answers.

Yeah I love the challenging ones... I agree with Duddahs... No apologies necessary. And justmy own rule for ME when I do this sort of game. I normally begin to give additional clues later in the game when notice over half of the questions have not narrowed down the field to where it could be guessed. So I do add more info.. but not at the start. Eeek. Oh and you all may begin to shoot your questions at me. I know lately you all might want to shoot other things at me as well. *ducks*
