NO! NO! NO! Chocolate is deadly to Dogs and Cats... It produces Toxic results that can kill them! Please tell me you do not give your little ones Chocolate! Actually chocolate is ONLY poisonus to dogs... not cats. Still, I do not give ANY people food to my cats... oh they beg but because I love them too much they only get pet food. The only time I feed them from what I cook is when it's Christmas or Thanksgiving and I cook Turkey or ham. Then and only then do they get the meat ONLY. I don't even allow my cats to drink milk... one is lactose intollerant... but then Hermione likes to wait until I am not watching then help herself to my milk... that little sneak cat.. then I'll only allow a little knowing that it's not really that bad for her. Mattie is the sneak for other people food but I go after her and take it away. It's not like my daughter is that small anymore where she does not know how to keep her food from the cats. I've told her how my mom's dog was fed a plate of food from what my parents fixed each day... then it almost led to her premature death... They had to take her to the emergency room for the vet they use to find out why she almost died. Oh she was not overweight... it was just bad for her health. Poor mom's dog... she lived a couple of more years. Still she did not understand why all of the sudden she had to eat only dog food when she spent her entire life being given the dog food along with a plate of mom's food. Mom and Dad miss her dearly. That dog was the replacement for when my youngest brogther left the nest.... It was their new baby so that is what they named her... Baby.

They really do get to seem like your babies sometimes! I've also heard that grapes, onions and raisins are bad for dogs. My Arthur ate every one of these things without any problems but then he also ate socks, washcloths and paper without any problems either. I don't feed those food items to my dogs now that I've heard they are bad. I wanted to share that my best friend has an owl that has been hanging around her house-she lives near the woods. She looked it up on line and thinks it's a barred owl, she got some absolutely gorgeous pictures of him and had one framed and is going to enter it into a photo contest-hope she wins! I remember about 3 years ago we had a huge amount of snow and someone where I work had owls around his back yard in the daytime. He said he thought they were looking for food because it was harder to find with all the snow. We've had a lot of snow this year so I wonder if it's why this owl is hanging around.

C.J. has a thing for Pork, anything that comes from Pig... He eats it! Loves it, will turn his nose up at steak for Pork... Loves Tomato Sauce too on anything, especially Pork...
Oh that reminds me.... Baby Back Ribs for tonight's dinner. Jenn has been sick as a dog for 5 days and has not gotten out of bed since last Friday night.. No kidding, just to use the little girls room ONLY.. She is going to sorely miss having ribs with our friends who all come over to watch American Idol..
Yep, I have regular friends who still come over to watch it. Normally only 6 or 7 others but it still is great... My Bose Surround System and the size of my living room makes it easier than everyone else's house. Also I don't have young kids running round any longer.... Most of them do and it is a nice way for them to get out for a night or two during the week.... Most have older kids too that baby sit.

Dedicated to my Magical Mattie and Hermione cats... MY magical creatures. I had a knock on the door about an hour ago. A cute Italian guy was standing there smiling at me.. Yep, he put on the charm and got 75 bucks outta me for a magazine subscription. (I chose one called " I Love Cats" because NONE of the others interested me....Oh and the others were all three times that price.) But more good things came from this... My daughter was there the whole time watching... See he was there trying to make money to help pay for a college trip... (it's her dream to go to Paris France one day. He wants to go to Italy since he's a born American.) Still, SHE needed to see that I support not only HER with her education but to this stranger. Maybe I can learn something about my cats that I did not know. OH and also, I now have something cool to look forward to seeing in my snail mailbox.

Miss Charlotte, that sounds like a very interesting magazine! An Ice Cream shop in a nearby town had opening day today. It's called "The Dugout"-they open when the Redsox start Spring Training and close when the Sox season ends. So it the Sox should be in the playoffs and/or World Series, they have to stay open later in the year. My sister and I took Andy for a doggy sundae and he loved it! It's about half a cup of vanilla ice cream with a dog biscuit on top. It's was in the forties today but I cold wind so I wasn't sure if many would be there-but it was packed!

So your little pup loves Ice cream too? Actually, C.J. will only eat Vanilla Frozen Yogurt. I have to actually buy it specifically for him. He also prefers Friendlys brand.. Not to spoiled yah think?

He has good taste! My first sheepdog, Theo, had to take allergy pills when he got older and I used to roll them in cheese to get him to take them. He had to have real cheese-we had the tofu cheese in the house but if you tried to use it for Theo's pills he would know and spit them right out every time.

Now that snow is melted and mud dried up my dog and I have been going into the woods walking again. I've been seeing this cute little black rabbit-have seen him three times in the same place so far. Then I saw a little animal on the banking of the river-we startled him and he jumped in the water. After googling it, I'm pretty sure it was an otter. I've seen them a few times before but never with dry fur-they look different! Then I realized-wasn't Hermione's patronus an otter? I wonder why JKR picked that particular animal for her......

C.J. has been tip toeing around the yard for days now since it has rained every day since last weekend.
He will not even go out to the park as the lake has risen over its banks and flooded the walkway half way around and he does not like walking on wet grass. WUSS!

OK... I really don't think I should be posting this but I'd have to say it's the funniest thing I've ever seen my cats do. So, if any of you find this post offensive or inappropriate, please do NOT hesitate to send me a pm and I will kindly remove this post without a blink or second thought about it. First, I just came home from work. I cleaned out the cat box. I started a load of laundry. I washed my hands. I cooked me some fried eggs for breakfast. I sat down here to read a message sent to me while I ate those eggs... Then... well, I kept hearing Mattie over in the corner of the room where my front door opens. For about ten minutes or so, she was playing with something and I really didn't pay much attention to what it was WHILE I did these things. Turns out while reading and I had a mouth full of eggs I saw one of my UNUSED ( clean) feminine products go flying up into the air. Mattie was in there with me when I was cleaning the bathroom and appearantly she found something in a box she's never seen before and thought it looked like something cool to play with. I just about choked on my eggs. It's things like this that make PMS not so bad some days. ;D

Fangsfan... I love to go walking here in the woods... the trails they have by the Arkansas River. I have gone just once since the winter had gone. I see people all of the time walking their dogs there. Now I'll think of you and Andy.
Duddah... my mother's dog will tiptoe every time there is snow outside. Now I'll think of you and CJ.

Miss C that Arkansas River trail sounds wonderful, I know I'd love it. I love that cat story, your Mattie would probably much rather have that toy than one you bought at the store!

You guys crack me up! I'm getting ready to have a bunch of teenager/tweens over to my house in a couple of days.. I'm not leaving that out for them to scratch their heads over. My daughter would kill me. ;D OH and I know you would love to walk these trails... when it rains the treetops are so heavy to the point you can go walking in there and not even get wet.

Last night my sister and I went out for ice cream and to get Andy a doggie sundae. On the way home I saw what I thought was a deer statue in a yard. My sister turned the car around and we looked and it was real. There turned out to be two others and one a baby. I haven's seen as many the last few years-we had a couple of bad winters with a lot of snow and they say it thinned the herd. So this was really nice to see.

Wow.... fangsfan. I can imagine.
When I was growing up in Georgia, we used to take a lot of trips to visit family in Alabama... mom's side. It was about 7 hours drive away. Anyway, each time we were nearly home, and it was well after dark, my brother and I would have a contest to see who could see the next deer first. We would be all excited just to see them.. and as you said, the more of the the better. I'd always feel sad for the tiny ones who would be there alone, for thinking of what must have happened to their mother. Hunters more likely. Hunting season down here is a very big deal... clubs compete and everything.
I did see a deer a couple of days ago... There is one place over by one big bridge not to far from where I live. We could see them out in the field grazing any time of day too.
They are truly spectacular magical beings as far as I"m concerned... Why do these things seem to bring us joy just to view them? Wow.

Two little short stories to share about my magical Mattiecat... and one of my daughter's new kitten. I remember posting about a year ago, when Mattie was a small kitten... I said she seemed to not realize she can not fly. Well, this new kitten is not any different. See, right now and for all of last week and this one so far, I've been having to spend my days over at my kids dad's house. I have to tend to son for four days a week, during the days. (one of the reasons my posts have been at a minimum during this time.) Well, this morning, this kitten was flying (running) back and forth through the house following me while I unloaded the things I brought with me to do during these long days away from home. Son sleeps for the most part of this time. Well I was busy trying to get myself sort of moved in for the day and was not paying any attention to the new kitty. I was at the sink in the kitchen when I turned and had to blink... there flying as high as my face in mid air was this kitten. She appearantly sprung off of the back of a chair that was sitting right there next to where I was standing. I had to catch her... that wierd cat. ;D She also took over my fuzzy blanket. I guess she thinks it's her mother... but her mom did not have long hair. My son has a bright green one like my dark grape/purple one. I guess I know where this kitty will sleep when they give it to my son... it's a gift waiting for winter for him. Too hot for everyone else to use a heavy blanket this time a year besides me. ..... Then yesterday I posted somewhere on this site that I would do a copy and paste of something I was supposed to do when I posted.. See, I couldnot find my battery opperated wireless mouse to go with my laptop when I packed things to come here. So... copy and pasting is a pain in the butt for me if I don't have my mouse. Well, this morning, I found it... I know it was either Mattie OR my Hermionecat who took off with it... It was under my bed. I guess they treated it like a real mouse. LOL.... ok bad joke.
