Oh no, I wonder what she got into Miss C? When my Duke was a kitten he used to like you get up on your shoulders and drape around-I think he's too heavy now! Today my sister and I had an "Andy Day." This AM we went for a long walk on a trail in the woods. This afternoon we took him in the car to Pet Quarters where the let the dogs go in the store. He got a hedgehog squeaker and two dog cookies. Then on the way home we stopped at the Ice Cream Dugout and we all had sundaes-a doggy sundae for Andy. Then this evening a walk around town to walk off the ice cream!

Oh no, I wonder what she got into Miss C? When my Duke was a kitten he used to like you get up on your shoulders and drape around-I think he's too heavy now! I wondered later if she was chewing on my daughter's toothbrush. ;D She still smelled strongly of mint later in the day. Yeah.. I miss it now that my Mattiecat has grown up. SHe used to snuggle right up under my chin each night... now I'm not home during that time. She used to sit on my shoulder and watch me type things up here. Now she's TOO big. I do miss the old days. Later, she moved to sleeping with me curled up on my side around her to keep her warm. I keep a fan on each night for sound purposes. She can't stand drafts so even though the fan is pointed some place else, she sleeps on a box in my room... sometimes she will try to sleep with me.. but... but she knows I'm not there for long anymore. She's a bit depressed right now and I don't blame her. I don't think it's just that she's mad at me.. simply depressed. You can see it in her eyes.. she's so sad. It's killing me really. See, my son's van has been in the shop for nearly three whole weeks and does not look like it will be back anytime soon. This means the four days a week I spend tending to my son, I have to do it over there all day long. I can't chunk his wheelchair in the back of my car nor could I sit him all by myself in the front seat. He's a big guy.. bigger than his mama. So, when I get off work from my night job at the store, I end up over there for the day... then when I'm off work the rest of the time I've been school clothes and supply shopping with my daughter. I miss my home so desperately as well as I miss my Mattie and Hermione cats. At least they have each other. Right now, Mattie is afraid to get on my lap for fear that as soon as she gets comfortable, it's time for my alarm to tell me it's time to go to work... meaning.. goodbye for several more hours. (funny, as soon as I typed this up, my alarm told me it's time to get up and get daughter up for school... then I too will be off to my son's.) Yes, i'm surviving on little sleep. You guys are the only thing that is giving me some fun in my life... keeping me sane. I'm trying to remedy my work hours somehow.. but don't know what to do. No single job around here will pay my rent, car payment and buy me food. I need both jobs to make ends meet. I miss her as much as she does me. Really, I guess this is life and we all know there is nothing we can do about it. OH well. We have a store like that. It's so cool to watch people shop with their dogs. But they have to be on a leash. It's called PetSmart. Huge store too. Like a pets paradise. You can even buy pets there... not just supplies and toys and things. They also groom dogs in the front window in a little room with glass windows so we can watch the whole time.

Hang in there Miss Charlotte, you never know what will turn up, hopefully things will get better for you. You certainly do have a full plate right now, I don't know how you do it all. I know what you mean about this place keeping you sane-it's so nice to be able to come here and laugh and relax. Our pet store requires dogs on leashes too. Andy without the leash would not be pretty-he was so excited to be there his feet were almost slipping out from under him on the slippery floor.

My daughter gave me a weird look this morning. I kept putting words to my cat's actions. Mattie cat was rolling on the floor in front of her... would not let her leave this morning. Then she attacked her book bag while it was on the floor.. had her paws wrapped around it and all four feet clinging round the whole bag... she was biting it as she was trying to put a pair of pants in the bag. I kept speaking for the cat telling Cyndi for the cat.. "No no.. you can't go.. I'm not gonna let you.. you have to stay." It was so evident what the cat was thinking, I just could not help myself.

Oh I think he's sweet. I'm with you Erin, I'd take him if I could too. Today is my Andy's birthday-7 years old but still acts like a puppy. We have a shop in town owned by a lady who comes from London and is crazy about OES. She loves him and will sit outside on the steps of her shop and make of him for a long time. So I took him there for his birthday-I think that was the best present he could have although he had extra walks and treats too.

Andy says thank you Duddahs! I just got home from work, heard a rustling and there was a skunk in my yard. I shined the flashlight right on him and he didn't mind, just shuffled out back into the woods.

OH we get those all of the time. I thought they only lived in the country, appearantly not. I couple of weeks ago, when I opened the front door to my apartment to get my daughter off to school, you could smell that one had been by recently. Well, that day was full of erronds to run to the point that I didn't make it back home until late that afternoon. See, out in the hallway is open and often breezy. So by the time I got home all had been blown away in the hallway since the last time I was home. So when I opened my front door that stink that was so pungent that morning happened to have blown into my apartment and was captured there. Yes... a bad surprise to come home to, but something I could laugh at still the same. I opened up my sliding glass balcony door and front door for a few minutes and all was gone. Thank goodness! Now when I lived out in the country we had them wander by as well. We also had pleanty of oppossum's, racoon's and armadillo's. All of those night time creatures that made life so intersting living out there. Deer were growing scarce since we used to live near hunting camp lots. ...... Oh and a Happy Birthday Andy. You know, I could not even tell you my cat's birthday's. I guess that is because half of the time the shelter I rescued them from were off on their ages... just so to find a home for them early. ...... OH ERIN... I LOVE that cat. I'd love to have him. Lets see.... what would I name him? Voldecat? Voldy? Catdemort? Morty?

OK...... Any of you who have ever had birds before... I've got this strange thing one of my parakeets do quite often. It's strange. He likes to hang upside down from the top of his cage... as if he's a bat. Then he screetches his little lungs out. He will often do this for up to half an hour at a time. The girl bird thinks it's no big deal... but I just can't figure out why he does this. He has the beautiful little voice. He sometimes will do what I call these sweet gentle little chirples... so adorable.. but most of the time he screeches to the point I think he soon will loose his voice. I just don't get it. I"ve had parakeets off and on throughout my life but this really is enough to make me scratch my head. LOL

For those who might want to know.... I've tried to move this thread and it seems to be stuck with a permanent sticking charm. BUT.... on the lighter side... I know I have often spoke of my two cats. Now that I'm remarried, I will have to mention I have a few more magical creatures to this list. Mattie..... my cat that is about a year old. Calico with grey and peach splotches on her white fur. Hermione Morine... Aka MoMo or HermioneMo. Another calico cat that is about 8 or 9 years old by now. I might have to correct this once I sit down and think of the actual year she was born. The new ones.... Baby... a tiny grey striped kitten, born this past July. He seems to not have any fears whatsoever... well aside from our birds. Two parakeets... One blue girl. Her name is Paris... for the place my daughter wants to go some day. The boy is green and I don't recall his name... He's the screecher so I ought to name him that. ;D Daughter likes to let them out of their cage and allow them to fly around the place. They like our Christmas tree as well as the ceiling fan. Most of the time they try to fly back to their cage.
